EPISODE 4 – SACRIFICE
I repeated the words spoken by the servant in my mind, trying to make sense of them. But before I could even speak, she slammed the door shut. The loud, echoing thud reverberated across the vast living room, making me flinch. I stood there in stunned silence, eyes wide with disbelief. Sell me? Madame Gisele wants to sell me? For what reason? I clutched at my hair in a panic as cold sweat started forming on my temples. Am I being sold off to be a prostitute? No… that can’t be right. With a face and body like mine, no one would be desperate enough to pay for me. Maybe… I’m being sold to some rich family to be their slave? That seemed a little more possible. But no matter how I looked at it, I couldn’t understand why anyone would want to buy me. My thoughts spun out of control, each possibility more terrifying than the last. I didn’t want to panic, but my heart was pounding so loudly I could barely think straight. This was the first time in a long time that I felt this kind of fear. A deep, unsettling dread. My knees began to feel weak as I stood there in the center of the living room, frozen. I couldn’t move, but my mind was racing in every direction. Then I heard footsteps approaching the closed door. My ears perked up instinctively. I focused all my attention on the doorknob. It slowly began to turn. My body moved before I even realized it. As soon as the door creaked open, I ran toward it, desperate to escape. But just as I reached the entrance, a guard’s boot came flying toward me, landing hard against my stomach. The force knocked the air out of my lungs and sent me crashing to the floor, flat on my back. I winced hard, my lips curling in pain as I clutched my stomach, the exact spot where I had been kicked. “You were told to wait here,” the guard growled through gritted teeth. "But you still had the nerve to try escaping...” I lay curled on the cold floor, writhing in pain. I still forced myself to sit up, my breathing shallow and uneven. That’s when I saw her. Madame Gisele entered the room with another guard flanking her. “I’m just waiting for the buyer,” she said coldly, her eyes fixed on me with that familiar arrogant stare. “They should arrive any minute now.” She paused, eyeing me from head to toe with a mocking smile. “So you can look human when dressed properly,” she said with a chuckle that made my skin crawl. “W-Where... are you t-taking me?” I managed to whisper. “W-Why are you selling me?” Madame Gisele’s smile widened into something sinister. “I suppose... it wouldn’t hurt to finally tell you the truth,” she purred, her tone heavy with sarcasm. “Let's start from the reason we bought you from your parents...” She walked slowly toward me, the sharp clack of her high heels echoing through the room until she stopped just inches in front of me. “So... the truth is,” she began. “At first, we had no intention of buying a baby to make into a slave. If we wanted one, we had plenty of strong options to do the hard labor around the estate. But your father begged us. They are desperate and starving. It was the middle of winter and your family had nothing to eat. You were all living in one of the worst slum areas in the region...” She tilted her head, lips curling into a sarcastic smile. “And we bought you.” Her voice twisted as she laughed, a demonic sound that echoed against the cold stone walls. “We brought you here, raised you, gave you chores around the mansion once you were old enough to walk and speak... You should be thankful.” She grinned. “You’re lucky you’re a girl. Girls have more value than boys. We didn’t buy you to serve... we bought you so one day, we could sell you.” Her voice grew darker. I could hear the pounding of my own heart, louder with every word she said, but I couldn’t tear my gaze from her twisted, evil eyes. “And this day,” she said softly. “We will sell you... to a werewolf pack that needs a sacrifice.” My breath caught. “A female sacrifice... sells for a much higher price.” My eyes widened in horror. I forgot how to breathe. My thoughts froze. Werewolves... Those immortals... I had heard countless stories about them growing up. Beasts living in a forbidden place known only as the Immortal’s Land, several kilometers away from our region. They were known to be savage, powerful, and ruthless. But from what I understood, they never harmed humans. They lived in their own territory, and we lived in ours. I never knew they ate people. They only attacked their own kind... other packs... Not humans. “W-Why me?” I asked, trembling. “W-Why would they eat me? W-What do they need me for?” “There’s a connection between the leaders of the werewolf packs and the rulers of each province, town, and territory. That’s because criminals from our region are banished to the Immortal Lands... the territory of the werewolves.” She paced slowly, letting her words sink in. “But not all packs are willing to eat criminals, especially men. Some of them are... particular. They prefer feeding their high-ranking werewolves with something more refined.” She stopped and looked straight into my eyes, her grin widening. “For centuries, it's been their sacred tradition to consume humans to gain strength. And you... You are going to be one of their meals.” Then, she let out a loud, echoing laugh. I felt a shiver crawl up my spine. Every hair on my body stood up. My lips parted slightly as I struggled to breathe, my throat trembling because of what I had just heard. “I’ve wanted to kill you for years,” she spat suddenly. “After all the times you hurt my beloved son... my only child! But I held back. I wasn’t going to waste the years we spent raising you. We’ll finally be rewarded... with gems, gold bars... all in exchange for you.” I listened quietly, my body still, but inside, I was crumbling. My head bowed slowly. My eyes remained wide open, but they stared blankly at the floor. “And just so you know... poor families? They sell their children all the time. Hoping to escape poverty. Sure, it’s illegal under the law passed by our town’s ruler but people still do it.”EPISODE 84I’ve made up with the idea that I might die nameless. That’s something I accepted a long time ago. But still, if the Alpha himself were to give me a name, I know I’d be deeply grateful. And honestly, I wouldn’t object to it.We continued our long walk in silence. The path stretched on, but I paid close attention to our surroundings. I’d already started memorizing landmarks, signs along the way so I could find my way back to that stream.I don’t think we were even halfway there when I suddenly placed a hand over my stomach. It had growled loudly, a low sound that made me pause.I threw a quick, sneaky glance at Villion, who was walking just ahead of me. His pace didn’t change. He kept moving forward.Maybe he didn’t hear it.My stomach wouldn’t stop. It rumbled again. I tried to ignore it, tried to focus on the trail instead but hunger clawed at me with every step.Judging by the angle of the sunlight and the warmth of the air, I guessed it was around 9 in the morning. Then,
EPISODE 83“VILLION! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!” Dax’s voice rang out loudly, making him spring to his feet. I could see Flora’s face draining of color, her eyes wide with fear. Villion had nearly slit her throat, just an inch more, and it would’ve been over. If Ragnar hadn’t caught the blade in time, Flora would be dead by now.I could feel sweat beginning to bead on my forehead, and the tension in the room thickened immediately. “Didn’t you hear Lord Alpha’s orders? Do you have any idea how valuable the sacrifice is? And you’re trying to kill her?!” Dax’s voice rumbled with fury again, but Villion, just turned his back on him, as though nothing had happened.“If you don’t want my sword to find its way into your own throat as well, I suggest you shut up,” Villion’s calm voice cut through, but there was a sharpness in it that made Dax clench his jaw even harder.“That was a close one,” Ragnar muttered with a laugh, tossing his sword onto the table. “Good thing I’m wearing these thick leath
EPISODE 82I caught it instantly. That look.As if all of this was my fault. Like it was somehow my doing that I was the one he ended up choosing as his full moon offering. His eyes practically screamed regret and honestly, good for him. He should regret it.I bit back a grin, forcing myself not to smirk too obviously. He might notice, and I wasn’t in the mood to get bitten for real. The contrast was just too funny to ignore.Villion, Ragnar, and Bruno had ended up with the human sacrifice Flora, with her perfect curves, flawless skin, and beautiful face. Meanwhile, Dax got stuck with me, a slave who looked like she just crawled out of a dungeon.Flora walked in like a goddess, all glowing skin, styled hair, and stunning clothes that hugged her body in all the right places. And me, I hadn’t even washed my face. There were probably still dried traces of drool in the corners of my mouth. The comparison was ridiculous, I couldn’t help it, I nearly giggled.“Now that we’re all here…”The
EPISODE 81The warrior was definitely in a hurry. The way he was tugging me along, it felt like he was about to drag me across the ground if I didn’t keep up. His steps were so quick that I had to run just to stay behind him. When we finally reached the wide courtyard of the den, he walked straight to a waiting carriage. I climbed in right after him, not wanting to fall behind or make things worse. Within seconds, the carriage began to move, leaving the den behind.During the ride, I let out a quiet yawn, trying to stifle it with the back of my hand as I secretly rubbed the dried crust from the corners of my eyes. I had slept for hours last night, but somehow, I still felt sleepy. Maybe it was my body finally trying to recover after being deprived of rest for so long. Back at the mansion, I was always waking up early and barely getting enough sleep. This place, for all its strangeness, I’d been able to rest this deeply. If there’s nothing for me to do later, I’m definitely going back
EPISODE 80– GATHERING “Human, step away from us,” Bruno commanded in a firm, authoritative tone and I didn’t hesitate for a second.I quickly ran away from where they stood, scanning the area for a good spot to watch from. I found shelter beneath the shade of a tall tree, just far enough to stay out of danger but still close enough to clearly see what was happening. From there, I crouched low and kept my eyes fixed on them. Both of them took several steps apart, creating just the right distance between each other. Then, in a flash, they lunged at the same time, swords tightly gripped in their hands, eyes locked with focus.I watched with bated breath as Bruno thrust his sword toward Villion’s stomach. Villion twisted his body with impressive agility, dodging the blow, and immediately countered by swinging his blade toward Bruno’s head. But Bruno was ready. He brought his sword up and blocked the attack just in time. Their blades clashed with a loud metallic screech, grinding against
EPISODE 79— TRAININGHe stepped out into the sunlight, into the open space where thin blades of grass grew sparsely on the forest floor. I stayed where he had placed me, in the shade, but my eyes followed him closely.Bruno kept walking farther until he finally stopped in front of a large tree in the front of the clearing. He stood still for a moment, and even from several meters away, I could see him clearly.I didn’t know what he was about to do, but my brows knitted in confusion the moment I saw him clench his right fist. Then, with a sudden burst of force, he pulled back and threw a powerful punch straight into the trunk of the tree. The whole tree shook from the impact, and I heard the sharp sound of cracking wood. Birds burst from the branches in a flurry, startled by the sheer force of the blow. He didn’t stop there, he pulled his fist back again and landed another punch, this one even stronger. The creaking intensified as deeper cracks formed and spread along the bark.My lip
