Chapter 7

Lyla and Hilda’s hearts can be heard thumping faster which made it very obvious that they were talking about something secretive.

“I could hear your heartbeats. Is there something you guys are not telling me, cause you both look very scared? Relax, I won't bite. I’m here to take my Luna to the party and I’m very sure you both are ready for the party. Shall we Lyla?” he completed the statement and reached out for her hand.

“We were only talking about ladies' stuff, you don’t need to be bothered actually. Right, Hilda?” she said smiling towards her.

“Yes, your grace. Yes, we were.” She responded with her head bowed down. And by the time she raised her head, her gaze met Lyla’s, and with her face that says let’s see each other later.

Lyla took Kyrian’s hand and before they got to the door, Kyrian looked back, with his arched brows, “Hey, what’s your name, I don’t think I’ve seen you before.” He said looking at her before fixing his gaze back to Lyla.

Before Hilda could respond, Lyla could see that Hilda was getting scared cause she only eat her nails whenever she got nervous. So Lyla quickly responded before she could.

“Oh darling, Lyla is my maid and a parting gift to me by my mother on our wedding night.” She said gesturing to Hilda to stay calm. And immediately she could see Hilda was relieved.

“I see, okay. Shall we proceed to the party? People are waiting for our arrival.” He said with a broad smile on his face revealing his fine face and cute jaws.

“Sure honey, of course.” She made a sign to Hilda which only them knew with her four fingers, which simply means, “Meet me at the toilet in an hour.” As she watched Lyla leave with her husband she breathed with relief placing her right hand on her chest, “I almost lost it.”

Moving into the ballroom everyone’s gaze was on them and Kyrian was so glad to address the guest. “Thank you all for coming to our anniversary. On behalf of me and my wife, we are so glad to have you all here.”

He held on to Lyla and the dance commenced but when he noticed everyone was carried away, he took her to her sit and left her there.

After sitting for what seemed like an hour she saw that her husband’s eye left her for a moment and he was carried away with some other thing. She quickly left for the toilet knowing fully well that Hilda would be waiting for her.

On getting to the females' toilet she starts to whisper, “Hilda are you there?”

Hilda peeped to check if they are not being watched and quietly closed the door to the toilet.

“Now listen Hilda, and listen to me good. This is no time for argument unlike before. You’ve got to help me leave this palace that looks like hell. And it is only you that can help me.” She said holding her hands.

“But…Lyla, where would you go?” she asked almost close to tears.

“Now is not the time for that Hilda, I just want to leave this place, this whole Luna thing. I deserve a good life okay? I deserve a good man Hilda, and not just one Alpha Kyrian who just wants me to give him a child not caring about my emotions.” She replied.

They both were carried away with their conversation and never knew that someone was at the door who had obviously listened to all they’ve been saying, entering, it was the king’s stepsister Sarah.

She folded her hands staring at both parties surprisingly.

Sarah has been a very good lady to Lyla since she got married to her brother (Alpha Kyrian). She was nothing like her brother, she was nice and very calm. A sweet lady to be précised, and has been one of the reasons that kept Lyla in the palace.

She would always say “Hey Lyla, just give it time, he will come around, you will see. He’s my brother and I know he wasn’t this kind of person, I don’t know what went wrong. But just stick to him please Lyla. He needs you even if he is not showing it.” She does tell her then. But was shocked when she overheard her and her maid discussing her escape plan.

“Lyla love I thought we both agreed to stick to my brother, but you are here planning to run away. Goodness God, I cannot believe you.” She said putting her hands down.

“I was never happy with your brother. I need to go Sarah. Please. If your brother loves me he will come looking for me.” She said with a pleading eye.

“Okay. What’s the plan? And how are you going to leave the palace that is heavily guided by werewolf soldiers? I mean look at the whole place?” Sarah asked with a concerned tone.

“That’s why am here to see Hilda. I planned on asking her to spice the soldier's foods and drinks with a sleeping potion. And with that, I can leave the palace without anyone knowing.” She replied being so sure.

“C’mon Lyla, Abel is a strong werewolf and he doesn’t eat at parties, you of all people should know that by now.” She sighed.

“Your Highness, I think your mom gave you some scented leaves that could kill your werewolf aura. I think you can rub that on your skin and that could help you to escape Abel’s sniffing abilities. What do you say?” she said turning to face Sarah and Luna and staring at them both.

“Okay, that works. I knew you will come up with something helpful, you always do. “ she said smiling at Sarah and Hilda.

“But where would you go?” Sarah and Hilda asked at the same time. Turning to look at them, she smiled and hugged them tightly before saying, “ I don’t know yet ladies, but I will be fine okay, I will.”

“Now, let’s leave before Kyrian comes looking for me.” And immediately she finished her statement the door flung open and their hearts were thudding against their chests. Alpha Kyria could hear three hearts beating against each other.

“Going somewhere?” he asked with his eyes locked on Lyla
