Chapter 8

“And what are you doing here Sarah?” he asked with a surprising tone.

“I needed to use the toilet but I happen to meet your beautiful Luna, so I decided to have a little chit-chat with her at least. Since you rarely let her out of your sight.” She said rudely and left them all in the toilet, closing the door behind them.

“What was that about Lyla?” Kyrian asked confused, as her stepsister has never spoken to him in such a manner before.

“I have no idea. Maybe you should ask her yourself.” Lyla concluded without blinking an eye.

Hilda whose heart was beating fast against her chest quickly left the both of them in the toilet and went straight to carry out their plan.

“Well, you should not be here. I asked you to stay at the party. And why did you take so long in the toilet? Is there something you are not telling me, Lyla?” he asked with a deep tone.

“Nothing is going on if you are so worried. I only came to use the toilet. And since when do you care?” Lyla replied turning away from him and closing the door behind.

He was left all alone in the toilet trying to figure out what may be wrong, but since he could not come up with any idea, he left the toilet and headed straight to the party ground.

There he found Lyla sitting where she was asked to always sit and avoided her eyes. And that was when Liam walked in.

After the whole party and the little misunderstanding that happened which made Alpha Kyrian leave Lyla and goes to his other room which he uses whenever he’s busy or has issues with Lyla. Lyla got up from bed and rubbed her body with the scented leaf which has been provided by her mate and that was how she escaped all the werewolf soldiers who were already asleep as a result of the sleeping portion given to them by Hilda.

And Abel was distracted by Hilda, who engaged in a conversation with him and took him for a long walk, and with that Lyla was long gone before daybreak. (Flashback fades)

“So you are telling me you don’t have any idea where she went? For real now Hilda?” he said still holding tightly to her neck.

“I…I…don’t…know. She …wouldn’t..te….tell..us,” she said struggling. “Please, don’t kill me.” She pleaded.

“No, I won’t but I will let you feel the pain I’m feeling.” He responded with an evil smile on his face.

“Guards! Lock her up and do not feed her till I asked you to.” He said releasing her slowly and watched her fall to the ground gasping for breath.

“No, please, I have no idea where she is… I’m sorry.” She pleaded while she got dragged out of the palace with Alpha Kyrian’s back turned against her facing his throne.

“You are too late!.” He replied angrily.

“Ouch, my headaches. Where am I?” Lyla asked herself while trying to sit on the bed, she has been in bed for over one weeks without opening her eyes nor did she eat anything, but was just lying like a dead person. The only thing that kept her from being buried was her heart which was beating while her body was just cold.

The doctors had administered some drugs which were injected into her body but really did not have much effects on her which made them wonder what kind of specie she was. And had them question the man who has brought her home all the way from where she collapsed.

An old man then walked while she was lost in thoughts and trying to get herself together.

“I see you are awake!” he said, which got Lyla out of her thoughts.

“Yes, yes I am.” She said with her hand on her forehead.

“Headaches?” he asked walking towards a table to make an herbal tea.

“Yes. How did you…?” and before she could complete her statement the old man hijacked it from here.

“you mean to say, how did I know?” he asked smiling a bit with a cup of an herbal mixed tea.

“yes, how did you know?” she asked now in full with her trying to get up but her legs would not just obey.

“Well, shouldn’t you be asking how you got here at first?” he asked her and passed her the cup of tea before dragging a nearby chair to sit with her.

“I’m sorry I… I should have asked that first before…” she said sipping the cup of tea which she reacted to cause of its extremely bitter taste.

“It’s okay. Just drink that. It will help ease your headaches for now. And you have not eaten for weeks now, so let me fix you something. And I noticed you’ve been trying to leave your bed. Just stay in for now, I will get you a bowl of water and a cloth to clean yourself. Your legs are weak as a result of the injections you were given. Just stay relaxed and we will talk when you want to.” He said standing from his chair and leaving for the kitchen.

Before he closed the door from behind he heard Lyla say something like “Thank you.” Before she drifted off to sleep again.

In a very beautiful garden filled with flowers, Lyla could been seen in a beautiful, pinkish off-shoulder gown and her hair well wrapped with some pretty costumes attached to it. She practically looks like a Luna mated to an Alpha.

“Hey Lyla, what are you doing?” a voice asked her in a very sweet manner.

Lyla looked back and saw Alpha Liam. Who was walking towards her and was smiling so well that his face could depict how happy he was.

“I came out for a walk in the garden and I noticed these flowers are so beautiful.” She said sniffing them and smiling sheepishly.

“The flowers are just as beautiful as you are Lyla. And only a blind man wouldn’t see how beautiful you are.” He said that before dragging her up and placing the earlier flower behind her left ear closer to her hair. And before she could reply him, he dragged her closer and kissed her with a burning passion that says “I’ve always yearned for you.”

Lyla broke away from the kiss and could hear her heart thudding against her chest. “What was that?” she said moving a bit backward from Alpha Liam.
