Chapter 250

HE COULD feel a sense of nervousness creeping over his skin as he woke up that morning. A week had passed, and that day would be the very day that he’d be able to find out whether the surgery was really a success or not. Ethan clasped his hands together beneath the duvet, deeply praying that it would turn out as well as he’d wanted to see for such a long time already.

The doctor came in right after he had his breakfast. His parents were present in the room. Michelle and Marsha weren’t there to witness the result of the surgery, as his wife needed to be well rested. The woman had called him earlier and told him how she wanted to visit him in the hospital, but given her pregnancy, she was advised to stay at home. He promised he would update her, though.

"How are you doing, Mr. Steinfield?" The doctor asked, sounding too optimistic.

He smiled despite how anxious he was. "I’m doing very well. The nurses are taking care of me."
