23. Punishment

Zaikai

A week had gone by since the incident and Zelda was still in a coma. I had spent the first few days by her side. Afraid that if I left her, she would be taken from me. Three days I refused to move from her side. Once I was certain she was doing better, and the poison had been removed from her body I needed to find out what happened. Start a suspect list. My father had put the castle on lockdown, so I wasn’t worried about the culprit escaping but I didn’t want to give them any more time to get away.

Three days ago

I lay on the chair half asleep with my arm dangling in the water still holding Zelda’s hand, I hadn’t let go since entering the room. I heard the door click and saw my father enter.

‘How is she?’

‘Stable no change,’

‘Hmmmm, did Selena say when she will wake up?’

‘No,’

‘We need to understand what happened,’

‘She was poisoned that’s what happened! Someone tried to kill her and killed my child!’
