I’ll admit I did not take to motherhood as easily as I felt I ought to. It took a good few months for Zelena and I to find our groove. I must have had a very idealized version in my head with my rocking her in my arms, her feeding easily, her sleeping through the night sooner than expected. Instead, she cried constantly pulling my hair, pooping everywhere, and biting me. I had resorted to bottle feeding her after she bit my nipples one too many times.

Selena had suggested the bottle feeding as Zelena being a vampire would crave blood, she had what looked like a pink milkshake to eat but whatever saved me from her sharp teeth was for the better, I’ll take the breast pump over fangs any day.
