I get about two flights down without looking too ridiculous, but my discomfort must have shown. Reece came up behind me and scooped me up in a bridal carry like I weighed nothing at all.

“We still have eight more floors, you do not have to carry me.” I say as I wrap my arms tightly around his neck trying to support some of my own body weight.

“I do have to carry you. You are clearly in pain and you have a gala and wedding in the next two days. You are going to need these beautiful feet to dance with me and to walk down that very long aisle.” He laughs and nuzzles into my neck. I can feel my stomach start to flutter again. “Besides, I am probably in debt to you after that meeting.
