Chapter 9

Hugo sighed in relief when he was settled on the couch in the lounge. He turned on the TV but kept it mute. The change of scenery was already refreshing and he only wanted to add to the ambiance but wasn't interest in listening in watching whatever going on the tv.

He nodded at his staff who were dutifully doing their chores. He was relaxed but his mind was stuck at a specific girl whom he havent saw since he came in the lounge.

He tried to subtly sneak around with his eyes but not

  • Sold to Mafia   Chapter 89

Chapter 89 stm Caterina was talking to Hugo and Luca on their table as the guests were given time to discuss and decide and then tally their orders with the staff standing at their tables. The auction was just in the final phase and Caterina was relaxed a bit now that she had food in her stomach and there was no pressure on her bladder. “Look, Hugo Martino has a new lap dog. I wonder if he is keeping her exclusive or will throw her it to his bodyguard after he is done with her”. Hugo and Luca went instantly stiff by her side and Caterina felt a hot rage pouring down her veins. “I don’t think he will change his track record. He will get bored of her and then his pet dog will get his fill and then she will flaunt her bags all over the social

  • Sold to Mafia   Chapter 88

Chapter 88 stm The night proceeded with a formal welcoming speech from Hugo and then the display begun. Caterina was sitting in her seat with Luca on guard near her. He would sometimes sit with her, discussing a few details with her but he was mostly busy on the walkie – talkie. He would take a round in the hall, chat with a few people and then take a full circle back to Caterina, making sure she was hydrated and had something to eat. Hugo just stayed a few minutes with her; he was mostly busy with the display and making introductions with potential business partners. Caterina was so proud of them, even if a slight taken back, she could admire the numbers going on the screen. She counted them un

Chapter 87 stm “Wow, a limousine”. Caterina slid in the car and exclaimed in astonishment. Luca chuckled at her excitement and tapped the security divider. “Mr. Giovanni. Ms. Giovanni Martino”. The chauffer greeted them both professionally. “To the venue, Arthur”. Luca said in a commanding tone and pressed the button for the security divider to go up, providing them privacy. They waited for a while until the security detail took lead and the driver accelerated the car once he got a signal from all of them. Luca was wearing an earpiece himself. Though he trusted his men from ages, still it was Caterina’s security at risk and he could not take a chance. “Are you

  • Sold to Mafia   Chapter 86

Chapter 86 stm “Who the fuck even invented these tuxedos and bow ties”? Hugo was grumbling while tying the bow tie and it was happening since the last two hours. He had worn the suit and he was looking so unhappy and distressed that Caterina had to make sure he wasn’t angry or something. “Technically, who opted for tux at the first place”? Hugo pulled the bow tie again to adjust it and this time Caterina couldn’t stop a giggle that escaped her lips. Her stylist looked at her through the mirror to reprimand her softly about her hair-do but Caterina couldn’t stop herself from laughing out loud. Luca looked at her from his phone and he bit his lips to stop his own smile but Hugo was looking so tempting and handsome while pouting like a little child, complaining to his mom about everything that Luca couldn’t help himself too. “Seriously, both of you are making fun of me”? Hugo stood in the center of the room, hands on his hips like a petulant c

  • Sold to Mafia   Chapter 85

Chapter 85 stm It wasn’t the first time of Caterina shopping with Hugo or Luca but it was the occasion that made it special. It was so far the third boutique and Hugo was constantly rejecting every single gown for her to wear on the day of Auction, but that didn’t mean the bags on Luca’s arm were getting any lesser. While they would agree to disagree on every item displayed and showcased for her, they would surely buy dresses for future use although Caterina politely, irritatingly and then angrily told them that she would outgrow her size with the course of her pregnancy but were they listening? No. “This is the last store I am visiting and then I am going home. I am hungry and tired now”. She whined as Luca steered the car to another mall just around the corner. Hugo looked at her and felt a bit guilty. He knew he was being unreasonable but he had to make sure that Caterina looked every bit unique and one in a billion as she was meant to be.

  • Sold to Mafia   Chapter 84

Chapter 84 stm “Hey gorgeous”. It was past mid night when Hugo and Luca returned home. The penthouse was dark except the light in the living room. Caterina must have been watching a movie while eating snacks when she fell asleep. The screen was blinking with the screensavers and the packet of the chips was tilted halfway down. Luca gently pulled the pack out of her hands and put it away while Hugo sat on the couch, putting her head on her thigh. “Uhm… you guys are back? What time is it”? Caterina looked at them groggily. “Just around 2 in the night. Did you eat something”? Hugo kissed her forehead. “Yeah I did. But I am hungry again. You are so late. I made lasagna for you”. She tried to sit up but Hugo stopped her. “Stay. I will get fresh and warm the food for us okay”? Hugo stood up. “Wait, I will arrange the table”. Luca stepped up but Hugo stopped him. “No. you have been running around the floors today. You mu
