Iris’s POV

Money?

A fake name?

And a grudge with Damon?

I remembered when he’d mentioned Damon back at my tiny apartment. I hadn’t taken him seriously. But now, knowing he was once beaten nearly to death by Damon—punched repeatedly, left almost lifeless—it all feels too real.

I had tried my very best to care for him, to tend to his wounds and stand up for him. But before that, he’d done far worse to me.

I don’t understand any of it. I still don’t. Whose side am I supposed to take?

Yes, Andrew has helped me—helped me a lot. When I had almost lost hope, sitting alone on a cold metal chair under the harsh, relentless storm, it was him who found me, who offered a hand.

But what I didn’t understand was why he treated me the way he did that night. Why did Damon hit him? And why did Damon keep calling him “Zach”?

Who is he?

"Little miss, you’ve come so far and forgotten me already, huh?" Andrew said, dragging out a chair and sitting beside me.

Damon’s povLeaning back in the chair, I exhaled deeply.Three months. Three long months of dealing with Zach, and still….no damn success.“Fuck!” I yelled, slamming the laptop shut and shoving it across the desk with force. My fist collided with the wall, pain flaring instantly as blood dripped down my knuckles. I lit a cigarette, letting the smoke coil lazily around me.I couldn't believe it. I was already losing to that maniac. Not just losing—I had already lost more than enough.Or maybe I’d been letting my emotions cloud my judgment, recently this wasn't me I seem to have been slacking off on my prey.It was time to be ruthless. Calculated.I kicked the chair aside and stumbled out of the room, only to bump into David.“Apologies, boss,” he said immediately, standing upright and bowing so low I almost rolled my eyes.“What brings you here?” I asked, voice low and sharp.“Miss just woke up, sir. She’s had breakfast.”I sighed inwardly. I missed my little girl so damn much I’d orde

  • Sold to Mr. Mafia   CHAPTER 75: ANDREW

Iris’s povStretching my numb body, I slipped through the sheets, thanks to Damon’s absence, I’d actually slept well for once.Although I had him and his boundless energy to thank or blame for that. I often wondered how he managed to last so long. That man was relentless.Time had flown. I glanced around the empty room before walking toward the mirror, catching my reflection in the glass.I wasn’t sure what was going on with me lately. All I’d wanted to do was eat and sleep. That was it.It had already been three full months since Damon returned, since that night when I’d heard him whisper those three words…I love you.I missed him. A lot. And I still wasn’t sure I’d truly heard him say it. Maybe it had been a dream. Or maybe not. Regardless, I was certain of one thing, I’d fallen for the monster. My stomach suddenly let out a loud growl."Yep. There’s my morning alarm," I muttered to myself. I’d gotten used to living alone without Damon. I had planned on getting a job more than once,

Iris’s pov I withdrew my hands from Damon. His expression shifted suddenly, his tone turned so cold that the story I’d been preparing as a cover slipped entirely from my mind. His gaze was sharp, unforgiving. It didn’t seem like he’d accept any made-up excuse. “Iris,” he called my name again, his voice snapping me back to reality. The anger in his expression frightened me more than anything. “I had them while I was making dinner,” I said, trying to sound confident as I gestured to the small scratch on my arm. “It’s just a little cut. Nothing serious.” I risked a glance at his face. To my surprise, he showed no expression at all. That might’ve been a good thing... maybe. Still, my eyes drifted to the wound on his side. The gash near his stomach looked more serious than mine. “I’ll get the kit. You’re injured too,” I offered, attempting to get off his lap. But Damon’s arms tightened around my waist, pulling me back

Damon’s povUnder the dim glow of the small lamp beside the couch, Iris’s beauty was quietly illuminated, her long eyelashes casting delicate shadows across her flawless, gentle face.I pulled her into my arms, carrying her petite body to the room. Just as I laid her gently on the bed, her ocean-blue eyes met mine. I might have woken her, perhaps I hadn’t been gentle enough, or maybe her sleep was simply light. It had been two days since I’d left her alone here. I’d missed her soft presence. Leaning down, I kissed her forehead tenderly.“Did I wake you?” I asked, my eyes flicking to her lips.“No… no, you didn’t,” she murmured, attempting to sit up, I felt her body suddenly become tensed Up.“I… I made dinner. It’s on the table. Though, I…” she stammered, was she always scared around me or maybe she was tundering because she had just woken up.“How did you know I’d be back today?” I asked casually while loosening my tie.“I… I don’t know,” she paused, her fingers nervously fidgeting,

Damon’s pov“So ridiculous.”“Sir Damon, these are already enacted in your father’s will, and nothing can change that. Only acting accordingly would save us all a great deal of stress,” the head of the board of directors said, his confident gaze betraying a refusal to take ‘no’ for an answer.“It’s funny how you speak so much, yet can’t compare to a normal business suggestion,” I said with a smirk.“Da…mo…” The head of the board stood abruptly. “Sir Damon!” he bellowed, slamming his palm against the table.“Hey, hey, calm down, old man,” I teased, deliberately trying to provoke him.He slowly sat down, adjusting his tie with an embarrassed look on his face. I chuckled. He’d let his emotions take control. He was the head of directors, yet his desperation was almost pathetic. If this was the state of the man at the top, what could be said of those under him?I chuckled again. Clearly, I’d exposed the limits of his narrow reasoning.“S…Sir Damon,” another voice croaked from the end of th
