CHAPTER 34

Who did this?" I asked.

"No one you should worry yourself about," he said dismissively as he walked out of the room.

I followed him immediately.

"What do you mean no one I should worry about? Do you have any idea how scared I was?"

He stopped walking.

Slowly, he turned around.

His eyes landed on me.

Cold.

Dangerously cold.

Then he snapped.

"WHAT PART OF NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND, HUH?"

I froze.

Before I could react, he grabbed my neck.

My breath caught instantly.

  • Sold to the cold hearted tycoon    Chapter 32

CHAPTER 32For the next few days, I became quiet. Not the kind of quiet where someone could look at you and immediately know something was wrong. I made sure of that.I still answered when Lily spoke to me. I still greeted the maids. I still smiled when Damien said something funny, even if the smile barely lasted a second. But I stopped talking more than I needed to.I stopped asking questions.I stopped wandering around the mansion. Most importantly, I stayed away from Luca. After what happened in his office, I had no desire to give him another reason to be angry with me.I didn't touch anything that wasn't mine. I didn't enter rooms I wasn't supposed to enter. I didn't even linger in places where I thought I might run into him.I just stayed out of the way.And strangely enough, Luca didn't seem to care.He didn't ask why I had become quiet. He didn't ask why I no longer sat around the living room with Damien and Lily.He didn't ask whether I was still upset about what happened. Not

CHAPTER 31Luca came home angry.I knew it before I even saw him.The front door slammed downstairs, and a few seconds later, I heard his footsteps moving through the hallway.Fast.Heavy.Nothing like his usual calm, controlled steps.Lily stopped talking.I looked at her."You heard that too, right?"She nodded."Yeah."We both stayed quiet. The footsteps came closer before moving toward the other side of the house.Lily glanced at me."Stay here."I frowned. "Why?""I don't know. Just stay here."She got up and left before I could ask anything else.I sat there for a few minutes, staring at the book in my hands.I wasn't reading anymore.Something was obviously wrong with Luca.He had come home angry before, but this felt different.I could feel it even from upstairs.Maybe that was why I started wondering what had happened.Or maybe it was simply curiosity.Either way, I found myself leaving my room.I walked down the hallway slowly. My eyes landed on Luca's office. The door was c

CHAPTER 30Things had changed. Not in the way I expected. The mansion didn't feel as frightening as it did when I first arrived. At first, every sound made me nervous.Every time I heard footsteps outside my room, I wondered if Luca was coming.Whenever someone called my name, I immediately started thinking about what I had done wrong.I had been careful about everything. What I said.Where I went.Who I talked to.Even how long I stayed downstairs. But now, things were different. Not completely different.Just... easier.I still knew the rules.I still knew I couldn't just walk out of the mansion whenever I wanted.I still had to tell the staff where I was going. And when Luca told me to do something, I knew better than to argue with him. That part hadn't changed.Lily had become my closest friend in the mansion.I couldn't imagine the place without her anymore. She was always around when I needed someone to talk to.Sometimes we talked about completely useless things.Sometimes we t

  • Sold to the cold hearted tycoon    Chapter 29

CHAPTER 29I woke up feeling much better than I had the day before. The first thing I noticed was that my head wasn't pounding anymore.I stayed still for a few seconds, just waiting to see if the dizziness would come back.It didn't.I slowly sat up.Nothing.No spinning room.No weakness making me want to fall back onto the bed.I let out a small breath.Finally.I looked around the room.Everything looked normal again. My clothes were still where I had left them, my book was on the bedside table, and the glass of water Lily had brought me the night before was still sitting there.I reached for it and took a sip.I was still a little tired, but at least I didn't feel like I was dying anymore. The door opened.Lily walked in.She stopped when she saw me sitting up."You're awake.""Obviously."She gave me a look."How are you feeling?""Better.""Better?""Yes."She walked closer and placed her hand on my forehead."I told you I'm better.""I'm checking.""You're becoming a doctor."

I open my eyes to the chandelier’s light, a thin halo that blinds me for a second. My head throbs and my throat is dry. I sit up and take in the room: spacious, masculine, all dark leather and cold brass. No photos, no warmth just power pressed into every surface. Why am I here? Then it hits me

“Why did you offer to help me?” I asked her, looking around the apartment we were in. It was simple yet plush in its own way warm, feminine, and soft, with a kind of elegance that felt foreign to me. “It’s simple. I want Luca. I always did,” she said flatly. “You can have him. I never wanted him,

Where are you taking me?” I asked, turning to look out the tinted window as the driver steered through a vast driveway lined with marble statues and trimmed hedges. He looked at me but said nothing. “You ask too many questions,” he muttered. Of course, I thought bitterly. First, I was sold ag

“Ugh…” I muttered in pain. My whole body ached, sore and heavy. I tried to sit up, but I felt a strong arm draped around my waist. Turning slightly, I looked at him his eyes were closed, his lashes long and soft. He looked like an angel, but I knew better. He was a devil in disguise. I gently pus
