Jeff’s mother couldn’t come back to her senses for a long time. How could he covet his best friend’s wife? She was so disappointed in her youngest son.

Jeff looked at his father and said, “Dad, I am not in the right state of mind to drive.” Then he got out of the driver’s seat and sat beside his sister.

His father got out of the passenger side, then he opened the backseat door and reached for his wife's hand. She took her husband’s hand in a daze and sat in the passenger seat.

Mr Cliff decided not to visit the Ferguson family that day. Then he drove his car home. The silence in the car was deafening.

Jeff is a selfish idiot.. he just wanted to gloat that Thorne was a stand in but he is not on good terms with his friends. Also saying that Doreen deserved almost having a miscarriage is just evil. He is still lashing out because Paula not because he was in love with Michaela.
