There’s that scent again. I said to myself as we walked into study hall. It’s him. But what does this mean?

“Do we sit anywhere?” He asked causing me to get out of my thoughts.

“Yea pretty much every table is open, other than that table over there.” I said pointing to the table Kyle and there clan sat.

“What’s to that table?” He asked curiously.

“The Alphas son Jeremy and their clan sit there.” I said walking to the table in the back.

“Can I sit with you.” He asked before pulling out a chair.

“I don’t care.” I replied feeling my cheeks burn.

“So what does we do here?” He asked looking around at the student who slowly started to fill the room.

“Make up work, study, sleep, whatever you need to catch up on.” I said looking around.

“Guess we can start the Economics project if you want.” He said with a smile that took my breath away.

What is happening to me? I questioned myself.

“Hey sis who’s this?” Jackie asked sitting on the table next to Jordan.

“Jackie this is Jordan, Jordan this is my step sister Jackie.” I said rolling my eyes.

“Hi.” Jordan said coldly. “So Economics.” He asked ignoring Jackie’s presence.

“Well excuse me for trying to be nice.” Jackie said stomping away.

“Sorry about her. She wasn’t trained quite right.” I said forcing a small smile.

“Not your fault she’s loose.” He said smiling back. “Isn’t she mated to the ass from the hall.”

“They aren’t 18 yet so they won’t know if they are mated just yet.” I answered confused as to why he didn’t know that.

“Wait dip shit isn’t 18 yet?” He laughed loudly.

“Shhh.” I said laughing. “No not yet.”

“So are we going to exchange numbers?” He asked placing his phone onto the table.

“You really want my number?” I asked shocked. Only 3 people in this school had my number Riley, Jackie, and the school counselor.

“Yea why wouldn’t I?” He asked sliding his phone across the table.

“Here you go.” I said handing him my phone.

Our hands touched sending electric waves through my body, causing me to drop his phone on the table.

“I’m so sorry.” I said reaching for the phone.

“It’s ok, it’s a phone and it wasn’t your fault. I didn’t hold on to it.” He said placing his hand on top of mine.

“Ok well I guess we can see what problems are happening for Econ.” I said snatching my phone away.

“Look at little Orphan Annie flirting in Nerd.” Kyle said as he and Jeremy walked into study hall with the rest of their clan.

“You put up with this everyday?” Jordan asked scowling.

“Pretty much.” I responded taking paper and pen out of my bag.

“Why don’t you say something back maybe they will stop.” He asked sympathetic.

“Because it doesn’t bother me any more.” I replied not looking at him.

“Aye dip shit.” He yelled as he leaned back in his chair. “You think ragging on her is cool or makes you funny.” He asked looking at the pure terror on my face.

“What are you doing?” I questioned

“Why don’t you pick on someone who will fight back.”

“What did you just say to me?” Kyle asked standing up from the table knocking his chair over.

“Don’t think I stuttered or whispered.” Jordan responded placing his feet up on the table. “Did you hear me mumble?” He asked looking over at me.

“This idiot must not know who I am.” Kyle said to the audience looking at him as he began stepping towards our table.

“I know exactly who you are. Dip shit.” Jordan said winking at him.

“What’s all the noise in here?” Coach Carson asked as he stepped into the room.

“Hey coach nothing just welcoming the new student.” Kyle said nodding towards Jordan as he picked up his chair.

“New student?” Coach Carson questioned turning towards our corner.

“Yea Jessie something.” Kyle said laughing with his table.

“Shut up Kyle.” Coach Carson yelled walking over to our table. “Mr. Johnson I hope you’re going to try out for our football team. I’ve been looking at your athletic recommendations and we could use you as our quarterback.” Coach Carson said tapping his clip board.

“Coach that’s Jeremy position. We don’t need a quarterback maybe a water boy.” Kyle said once again laughing with his table.

“Kyle you’re going to give me 100 push-ups at practice today.” Coach Carson said still looking at Jordan.

“Coach maybe we should talk about the offer you’re giving to Jessie.” Jeremy said now standing.

“His name is Jordan, and you can join Kyle if you like.” Coach said causing Jeremy’s smile to disappear.

“I just might coach.” Jordan said sitting up in the chair.

“Great, Great practice starts at 4 pm Monday’s, Wednesday’s, Fridays and every other Saturday from 12-3.” Coach said reaching his hand out to Jordan.

“What is going on with this guy?” I asked myself as I look around the room.

“Hello I’m Jordan.” I said as the door opened to who I suspected to be her step mother. “ You must be Mrs. Haywood.” I said reaching out my hand. “Mutt.” Rider muttered. “Yes are you looking for Jackie? She isn’t here right now.” She said shaking my hand. “No actually…” “He’s here for me.” Aaliyah said coming around the corner. “Oh is that so. I’m Amber her mother.” She said not hiding the disbelief in her voice. “Yes he’s coming shopping with us.” Aaliyah said stepping outside with me. “Is your father here?” I linked her. “Where’s dad?” She asked as Amber stood looking at the car in front of the house. “He hasn’t made it home yet.” Amber answered rolling her eyes. “Come in we’re just waiting on Aaliyah’s sister.” She said grabbing my arm. “Here comes the show.” Aaliyah linked me as I took a seat next to her on the couch. “Is that your car?” Amber asked sitting between us on the couch. “Yes ma’am it is.” I answered scooting over. “Oh I think Jackie woul

“It’s something about him, why is he so interested in me and why can I scent him?” I ask myself staring off into space. “Ms. Haywood can you answer the question or not?” Dr. Brown asked bringing me back to class. “I guess not.” She said rolling her eyes smiling. “X squared by 7 the angle of side B is shorter by 9 centimeters.” I answered as she approached the board. “So you are present today.” She stated annoyed. “If you extend side A by 6 centimeters the structure will be stable enough to hold.” “Enough we know you get it.” She cut me off.” I didn’t ask how to stabilize the structure.” She said erasing the equation to stabilize the structure off the board. “Show off.” She mumbled. “Bitch.” I heard from behind me. “Who said that?” I said aloud. Causing the class to look at me. “Excuse me said what?” Dr. Brown said turning from the board. “Nothing sorry.” I replied quickly. “I’m Nix. Your wolf.” The voice said again. Causing me to jump up. “Ms. Haywood, if

“You put up with this everyday?” I asked watching her step sister as they tease Aaliyah. “Because it doesn’t bother me any more.” She said nonchalant taking pen and paper out her bag. “Protect her.” Rider growled. “Aye dip shit.” I called leaning back in the chair. “You think ragging on her is cool or makes you funny.” I asked looking over at the confusion on her face. “What are you doing?” She whispered. “Why don’t you pick on someone who will fight back.” I said turning my attention back to Kyle. “What did you just say to me?” Kyle asked standing up from the table knocking his chair over. “Don’t think I stuttered or whispered.” I responded smiling placing my feet up on the table. “Did you hear me mumble?” I asked looking over at Aaliyah. “This idiot must not know who I am.” Kyle said to the audience looking at him as he began stepping towards our table. “I know exactly who you are. “I can’t believe I have to transfer school in the middle of the school year. All because of this damn peace treaty. I hate being the son of an Alpha.” I said to Rider. My wolf. “Well at least you can start over and no one will know who you are and you can be a normal teen for once.” Rider said pacing in my mind. “I guess you’re right about that.” I said grabbing my bag and keys. “J.J you want one of the guards to drive you?” My dad linked me from his study. “No. I can drive myself.” I linked back as I walked into the kitchen. “Good morning J.J. Excited about the new school.” Lory the head chef asked as she place a bowl of fruit in front of me. “Not really. Wish I could just be home schooled like your pups.” I said taking the bowl from the counter. “If only I could get them to behave they would be like the rest out and about.” She laughed patting my back. “Please stay out of trouble at this new school.” My father said as he entered the kitchen. “Good morning Al

“Aaliyah, come downstairs for a moment before you head out, your father and I need to talk to you.” I hear my stepmother call from downstairs. “What have I done now?” I whispered to myself as I finished packing my book bag. “Four more days, and I’ll be free.” I mumbled to myself. “Grab your sister and meet us in the dining room. We’re having a family meeting before you two leave for school.” She called out. Amber married my father only seven months after my mother was killed and taken by rogue wolves. I was only six years old. I never got a chance to say goodbye. Her body was never even found, only a puddle of blood in the forest where she ran on full moons. Come to think of it I don’t think my dad or the Alpha sent anyone to search for her. “Come on, Jackie. Yo, Mom is calling a family meeting.” I said annoyed, before opening her room door. “Oh my god, get out, you creep.” She yelled, covering herself as if she was naked. “Drop the act. You’re fully dressed, and your mom
