Annie's bedroom,
When Annie arrived inside her room, she carefully placed Amelia on her bed as she patiently waited for her to wait up. "She's still unconscious?. Honestly, how powerful was that vampire guy?". Annie muttered and was now battling about what to do with Amelia. Annie was still new to being a vampire, so she didn't exactly know what she was expected to do now. "Wait. That's it!. These vampires must have some kind of incantations to heal the wounded. Damn it. Even though there was an incantation that I could use, how would I do it? I arrived in this world today. Everything that is happening in this world is kinda making me want to change my mind. Could it mean I want to return to my own world?". Annie questioned herself. PS, even though Annie was fearless, she was wary of this new world she was in. "Arghhh!". Annie hissed and groaned as the memories of last night— when she was still in her own world, suddenly played right inside of her head— 'What I'd give to stop seeing these nightmares! Even if I have to travel to another world for it to stop, I sure am willing!'. This memory replayed over and over inside Annie's head before it finally stopped. "What was all that?". Annie said after the memory of last night which had played in her head, ended. "I think I'm feeling goosebumps. Could that be it? The reason why I was brought here? Simply because of my words? It was obvious I was furious when I said those words. But, I didn't expect the universe to take my words so seriously, to the extent of sending me into this world". Annie muttered as she complained even more. "My- my Lady?". Annie turned to face the person who had called her. And when she saw that it was Amelia, she was glad. Seeing that it was Annie's bed that she was lying on, Amelia panicked. "I'm so sorry, My Lady!. A mere servant like me isn't worthy of lying on your bed". Amelia announced and immediately tried to get up from Annie's bed, but Annie prevented her from doing so. "You're still injured. So stay still". Annie ordered Amelia with a harsh voice, as she didn't want Amelia to oppose her order. "Don't be stubborn and stop moving, Amelia". Annie ordered Amelia once more as she noticed that Amelia was still trying to get down from the celeste's silver velvet mattress. On the other hand, Amelia was already aware that her lady, Annie, was a kind and generous vampire. But according to the rules, it's an abomination for a lowly and low-ranked vampire like her to lay or even sit down on her master's bed. If others were to see her on Annie's mattress, wouldn't there be any problem?. Even still, Amelia was feeling unsettled because this was the law of Lord Davis, which Annie was violating. But it was a surprise to Amelia because Annie didn't even take breaking the law as any problem. Rather, she was oddly calm. "But... But". Amelia was trying to explain, but the right words weren't coming to her lips. Annie deeply sighed and was worried after seeing the troubled look on Amelia's face. In Annie's years of life, never has she cared for anyone, ever since both her parents died. Annie had a deep resentment towards the humans who abandoned her after her life came falling down hills. She knew all the struggles and hardships that she experienced just to get to the top again. And what made Annie despise all those pathetic humans who betrayed her even more, was because, after she had made it back to the top, they started acting like nice guys. But now, everything has changed for Annie ever since her transmigration to this world. She had finally seen someone who truly loved and cared for her. And that person was Amelia. Annie had already acquired the real host's memories, so she knew the kind of humiliation and sufferings that Amelia went through for her sake— the real Annie's sake, that is. For the first time ever, Annie sincerely thought of protecting someone like Amelia. She planned to treasure and cherish Amelia like a special gold she never had, because she had never in her life seen someone as devoted as Amelia. Amelia was just too selfless for her liking. And someone like Amelia won't be able to survive in this world on her own. Annie suddenly held Amelia's hand, causing Amelia to gasp in disbelief. Honestly, Amelia tried slipping her hand away from Annie, but Annie wasn't at all ready to let go. Soon after, Amelia froze upon seeing the way Annie was staring at her. Amelia's heart suddenly began beating rapidly as she felt the surrounding time stop completely, causing everything to look stiff to her view. "It's alright Amelia…. I'm here with you. And I promise not to let anything, or even anyone, ever lay a finger on you. You're not just a lowly and low-ranked vampire you think of yourself as. Instead, you're a special treasure who could even melt a wicked person's heart. From now onward, I'll take you as my sister". Annie admitted. And secretly, she was kinda referring to the wicked person's heart as herself because, in her own world, she was a heartless and destructive human being. And just maybe, her sudden transmigration to this new world wasn't such a bad thing after all. Amelia felt her eyes getting heavy because of the heavy tears that were piled up inside both of them. Not being able to control her emotions, Amelia released her hand from Annie's grip— before using the same hands to hug Annie as she cried out so bitterly. "My lady, your words were the nicest thing a person has ever said to me in my entire life. Thank you so much for caring for an orphan like me!". Amelia added as she whimpered and drenched Annie's dress with her tears. There was an angry expression on Ethan's face as he made his way to the dark river mansion. He personally wanted to report Annie. He wasn't in his golden carriage and was running on foot. He didn't care about using his golden carriage because he was much faster when running on foot. Besides, all he cared about was to arrive at the dark river mansion and report Annie to the vampire King, Davis, so that Annie would be dealt with, since she was a thorn in his flesh. It took him barely five minutes, and he arrived outside the dark river mansion. The guards stationed outside the mansion’s large gates recognised Ethan, so they allowed him entry into the mansion. Once inside the dark river mansion, Ethan halted and composed himself. He arranged his disheveled black hair and dusted his clothes, while making sure that he looked decent in the eyes, for he could never present himself before Lord Davis looking untidy. Doing so would annoy Lord Davis, who loved to wear gloves and hat
With only 18 minutes left, Morris prepared the potion as fast as he could. A faint smile appeared on his pale face as he stared at the potion which he was holding in his hands.Exactly when Morris the healer was about to feed the potion to Mila, who was unconscious, Ethan snatched the potion from his hand, and there was also a darkened expression on Ethan's face. “You can leave now, healer. I'll feed the potion to my wife by myself”. Ethan declared. “But-”. Morris immediately stopped talking because of the way Ethan was glaring at him. He bowed his head at Ethan and said, “I’ll take my leave now”. After Morris left Mila's room, Ethan went and sat down on the bed next to Mila. He fed her the potion, and even though she was currently unconscious, she drank it all. Ethan kept the cup aside and was deep in thought, as a result of what happened a few minutes ago. {Earlier}Annie halted and turned to Ethan. She had a proud smile on her face as she said to him, “I'll say this once, E
Morris was feeling anxious, but he had to compose himself so that they would stop staring at him with suspicious eyes. He said calmly, “Lord Ethan, I am simply worried about Madam Mila because time is running out. Nothing else”. Ethan sighed deeply. He gritted his teeth and frowned, as he quarrelled with Morris, “I know that time is running out, healer! But other than confronting Annie and dealing with her for causing harm to my wife, what do you want me to do?!”.“I-”. Morris didn't know what to say to Ethan. He could only grit his teeth in secret, as he began to harbor an unquenchable resentment towards Annie. “Did I hear someone mention my name? Or was I hallucinating?”. Everyone had to focus their attention on Annie, who spoke. Standing beside Annie was Amelia. It was now that they had both returned to the mansion from the forest. Their whole bodies were dirty. They had to return home in a hurry because Annie couldn't wait to take a bath. “There you are. You wretched daughter
As Annie and Amelia arrived in the forest, they began to search for wild berries, which was apparently the last ingredient they needed. It didn't take them more than an hour, and they found many wild berry trees. Annie couldn't wait for Amelia, because Amelia was slower than she at plucking the wild berries. So, she climbed one of the wild berry trees, and plucked as many wild berries as she could. But come to think of it, wasn't Amelia's slowness due to her external injuries? “My lady, the wild berries are enough. It's plenty, and they cannot all be used for the potion”. Hearing what Amelia said to her, caused Annie to go down from the tree without hesitation. She couldn't wait to return to the manor, because she wanted a quick bath. Her body was very sweaty and dirty! And she hated that so much. “Gather all the wild berries, Amelia. We're leaving after that”.“I'm on it, my lady”. Amelia replied and giggled, before she went to do as she had been ordered. Lord Ethan's manor,Th
“Ouch! That hurts!”. Annie exclaimed and was massaging her forehead that had hit the forehead of the other person. The guy who Annie had crashed into was also massaging his forehead. He hissed and frowned because he felt a sharp pain in his head. His hand was on his forehead while he said to Annie, “Didn't you see me before you crashed into me, young lady? Is there something wrong with your eyes? I'm now injured, and it's all thanks to you alone”. Annie marvelled after being blamed by the guy who was about her age. She positioned both her hands on her waist and was staring at him in disbelief. “Why are you blaming me? What about you? What happened to your eyes? Didn't you see me? Why did you crash into me? Now because of you, my forehead hurts like crazy!”. “You!”. The handsome guy pointed a finger at Annie. Being scolded by the guy prompted Annie to confidently raise her chin, before she replied to him, “Yes, me what?!”. Amelia was helplessly watching the two, who were busy arg
On their way to the mountains, Amelia was feeling extremely bothered. She badly wanted to ask Annie, who was in front of her, a question. Annie was a strong vampire, and because of this, she was able to read Amelia’s inner emotions. Without bothering to look at Amelia, she asked her, “What is it, Amelia? Why are you troubling yourself?”.Amelia was surprised because of Annie's question. ‘How did lady Annie know I was troubled?’. She mused. She didn't want to keep Annie waiting, causing her to reply, “My lady, I don't understand. Why did you make those suggestions to the advisors of Lord Davis? They are dangerous. So, why would you allow someone dangerous to stay with us in the manor?”. A sudden smile appeared on Annie's face after listening to Amelia's curious questions. She understood what was in Amelia's mind, and equally understood her fears. “Amelia, let me ask you a question”. Annie said to her. She stopped walking and turned to face Amelia, who was behind her, before she aske
