Chapter 14-Always Stand By His Side

I got out of the car with James, and Maria quickly approached. From the hardened look on her face, I could tell she was angry.

But what was she so upset about now?

I didn't feel like I'd done anything wrong. There was no way she was upset like that because of James, either. I knew very well that the anger was directed at me, especially the sharp gaze that was now directed at me.

Vivi came closer, her hands folded in front of her chest. She looked disgusted to see me together with James.

"Maria, Vivi, what are you doing here? Did something happen to Jack again?" James finally opened his voice at their silence. He pulled my hand towards the door, while Maria and Vivi followed behind. Their high heels tapped the tile floor very loudly. For some reason they seemed to be trying to vent their frustration.

"It's not about Jack, but your reckless decision, James," Maria said.
