Chapter 15 Set Up My Own Business

“Manager Nell!”

“Nell, you… Don’t be impulsive!”

“Ms. Jennings, that’s not what President Morton meant!”

The expressions of all of Fenghua’s top executives changed at Nell’s words.

They all opened their mouths to stop her.

After all, there may be some of them dissatisfied with Nell being the department manager, but that was only because they were jealous of the fact that a young girl like her had managed to rise to such a high position with her own skills.

However, there was no one who truly wanted her to leave.

After all, her capabilities were good. It was because of Nell that their PR department had improved so much over two years.

When the PR department was strong, it would save the artist department and management department a lot of trouble.

The biggest fear of the management department was something happening to the artists under them. In the past, as soon as an accident occurred, it would be solved if they went to Nell. It was not impossible for her to completely turn the tables and make a comeback from a seemingly doomed situation.

However, now, she wanted to resign!

Putting aside the problem of who the two departments would go to to solve an accident if she left, although they had heard of Skylar Terrell before, they had never worked together with her and did not understand her.

What if she was not as capable as Nell?

Everyone immediately panicked, and Jason’s expression also darkened.

“Nell! Stop messing around! This isn’t something to joke about!

Nell sneered. “You think I’m joking? You, President Morton, took the trouble to walk in a big circle just to force me to take the initiative to resign, so as to show that you’re not the kind to heartlessly get rid of someone once they’ve served their purpose. I’m simply going along with your wishes. What else do you want?”

Jason’s expression completely darkened.

“I told you I wasn’t trying to force you to resign! Skylar is more experienced than you, so the position of PR manager should rightfully be hers.”

Nell shrugged indifferently.

“You can let whoever you want take that seat! Besides, even if you didn’t bring her here today, I would’ve resigned! President Morton, I wish the best to Fenghua and you!”

Then, she laughed mockingly and snapped her notebook shut with a confident posture, and left without turning back.

The door to the conference room closed with a ‘thud’.

The woman’s cold and decisive aura seemed to linger in the room.

Jason gritted his teeth and clenched his fists tightly.

It was not like he did not expect this outcome before he brought Celine and Skylar in today.

He just did not expect her to leave so resolutely.

His eyes were icy cold when he looked at the resignation letter beside his hand. Then, a faint satisfaction emerged from the bottom of his heart.

In the past two years, although Nell had worked hard for the company, she had always pressured him.

She was only the manager of the PR department, but she was always talking to him about future development plans for the company as well as the company’s current situation in private.

Sometimes, he really found it annoying. However, the annoyance was not because she was wrong, but because she was always right!

He did not want to feel as if he was actually inferior to a woman in running a company.

Yes, it was good that she left.

At least in the future, he would not feel that Fenghua’s success and achievements were because he borrowed a woman’s help.

After a long time, Jason’s expression gradually eased up.

The assistant beside him asked in a low voice, “President Morton, what should we do now?”

He took a deep breath and turned to face the top executives.

“Since she insists on leaving, we can’t force her to stay. In the future, the PR department will be under Skylar’s care. She’ll also continue to serve as Celine’s agent. Linda, walk Skylar through the entry procedures.”

The executives exchanged glances, but the matter was already settled, so no one dared to say anything else.

After Nell left the conference room, she went straight back to her own office.

At this time, Fenghua’s top executives were still in the conference room, so there were only ordinary employees in the office.

When Hannah saw Nell walk out with a cold face, she immediately had a bad feeling and rushed after her.

“Ms. Jennings, did President Morton really announce that he’s letting Ms. Terrell manage our PR department? Are you leaving?”

Nell walked into her office and let Hannah close the door before nodding.

“Well, work hard with Skylar Terrell in the future. I don’t know what her character is like, but her abilities are very good. If it were ten years ago, you can say that she’s the kind of person you wouldn’t be able to work with even if you pay her, so you should make the most of this opportunity!”

Hannah was so anxious that she almost burst into tears.

“What about you?”

“Me?” Nell looked up and smiled. “I have my own ideas. The world is large. There are other entertainment companies besides Fenghua.”

“Manager Nell, do you already have an idea of where you’re going next?”

Nell narrowed her eyes slightly and laughed.

“Where I’m going next… I don’t plan on looking for one. Besides, rather than always being so passive, wouldn’t it be better if I set up my own business?”

Hannah’s expression was full of shock.

Nell patted her on the shoulder and chuckled. “Work hard. We can still get together when we’re free.”

She had already packed her belongings, so she took her windbreaker off the shelf and draped it over her arm before leaving.

Hannah suddenly ran over to stop her.

“Ms. Jennings, are you starting your own company?”

Nell raised a finger and made a ‘shh’ action.

“Don’t tell others. I won’t be able to succeed if too much noise is raised before I start. Don’t cause trouble for me.”

Hannah stared at her and nodded solemnly.

“I know, Ms. Jennings. When you start a company, you’ll definitely need people, right? When the time comes, I’ll come and continue to follow you!”

Nell paused, slightly surprised.

To be honest, her usual temperament was cold and aloof, so she did not have any confidants among her colleagues.

Hannah was quite loyal to her only because she was a rookie who just graduated from college and had no other plans.

Thus, Nell did not expect that Hannah would make such a request.

She looked into Hannah’s sincere eyes for a moment and smiled.

“It’s going to be tough in a new company. It’ll be at least a hundred times tougher than it is in Fenghua. Aren’t you afraid?”

Hannah shook her head firmly.

“I’m not.”

After a pause, she continued in a whisper. “Ms. Jennings, although you’re not that close to everyone, I can tell that you’re a good person. If anyone has any difficulties in their work, you’ll always teach and help them. Even if following you is hard and tiring, I’ll definitely be able to learn something new.

“However, Ms. Terrell is different. I asked around this morning and heard that she’s selfish and cold-hearted. She also likes to exploit employees, and everything credited to her hard work actually belonged to others. I don’t want to work with a boss like that.”

Nell looked at her expression that was full of disgust and smiled.

“Alright, but it’ll take a while for the new company to be established. I’ll let you know if you’re still willing at that time.”

Hannah immediately grinned.

“It’s a deal.”

“Hm, it’s a deal.”
