Chapter 10: Saviour

When we got to the line, we stood behind a familiar blonde head I had sworn I'd seen before. When I peered closer, I reeled back in surprise when I recognized the girl I had seen who had the mark. She was dressed in a black lace dress that covered her shoulder where I'd seen the mark earlier. Her hair was up and falling over her shoulders. I wondered if even the slightest pressure applied to it hurt. Standing beside her protectively was the boy who I assume marked her. Their scents were mingled so I supposed it wasn't as surprising as I'd first thought.

"What?" Brandy asked me, shaking away from my daydream.

"What what?" I asked, trying to look as if nothing had happened.

"You just looked like you saw something horrifying. Did anything happen?" Brandy asked, slightly amused.

"No, I um- well kind of," I sighed at my odd idiocy to ramble when I was nervous, "I- uh- yeah, no. It was nothing."

"Don't lie, pretty girl," Quil said, giving me a mischievous smirk.
