KAIDEN

Bradley rushed into the room the moment I disconnected the mindlink. The serious look on his face told me he understood right away that something was wrong.

“What’s going on?” He asked as he stepped into the study.

“Someone is trying to destroy my family,” I said tightly, my jaw clenched and my eyes dark with rage. “And that person is here… inside my packhouse.”

Bradley tensed. His brows drew together, and I could see his mind racing, trying to guess who it could be.

“And who is it?” he asked.

I stood from my chair and walked to the large window, my eyes scanning the packhouse grounds below. Servants moved around, busy with their chores. A few guests were strolling and chatting casually.

“Someone who has been slowly poisoning Calantha with nightbane toxin,” My voice was cold. “It caused her to lose her pregnancy.”

There was a pause behind me, then Bradley’s shocked voice filled the room.

“Wait… what?” he stepped closer, stopping beside me. “She was pregnant? And she lost the

LYSANDRA“Lysandra?”I turned quickly at the sound of Ezra’s voice. He stood behind me, a look of concern growing on his face. The moment he saw the tears on my cheeks, his expression shifted from confused to worried. His eyes followed the direction I had been staring, and when they landed on Calantha and Kaiden, he immediately looked away.“Come here.” He said gently, taking my hand with care and leading me away from the window. I wiped at my cheeks, trying to stop the tears, but they kept coming. My chest ached, and it felt like I could fall apart at any moment.Once we were far enough away, I broke down completely. The tears burst out of me like a flood, and Ezra didn’t say a word. He just wrapped his arms around me and let me lean on his chest, holding me close while I cried. And I did, hard. It felt like something inside me had shattered, something I could never fix.I don’t know how long we stayed that way, but I pulled back quickly the moment I heard the throne room doors crea

  • Stealing the Heart of the Lycan King   Giving Up On Love

LYSANDRAI poked at my food, barely tasting a thing. My body was at the dinner table, but my mind was far, far away. Across from me, my mother was talking—mostly about staying safe in the pack, especially now that it was crowded with visitors because of the tournament. She was convinced that was why we saw the strange things in the woods today. But I could barely hear her. I was still lost in the thought of Calantha’s powers.Even though I told Mother about what we saw in the woods, I left out the part about Calantha’s extraordinary powers—an exact replica of mine. Because honestly, I still couldn’t believe it myself. Maybe I was just overwhelmed. Maybe I had imagined it. Maybe…No. I hadn’t imagined anything. I had felt it. I felt her energy mix with mine when we healed that guy. Her power was real. But… how?All my life, Mother had told me I was the only werewolf born with this ability. She warned me to keep it hidden—to never tell anyone, or it could cost me my life.So if I was

CALANTHAKaiden, Bradley, and I were seated inside the throne room now, behind closed doors. After I had told Kaiden everything Lysandra and I witnessed in the woods during the picnic, he had wasted no time dragging me here and summoning Bradley for an urgent meeting.“This doesn’t make any sense,” Bradley said, shaking his head as he paced a little. “There’s no known animal with dark magic in its system. The only creatures close to that are the beasts we use in the Trial of the Beasts. And even those only carry traces of Primordial essence in their veins. Not dark magic.”Kaiden remained quiet, lost deep in thought, his fist propped beneath his chin. His brows were furrowed hard. Finally, he spoke.“What if it wasn’t an animal at all?” He said. “Like Calantha said, the wound looked like something an animal would leave behind. But too clean. And let’s not forget, dark magic hasn’t been seen in centuries. It was outlawed and sealed away long ago.”“My worry is the victim,” I added quic

KAIDENI sipped my tea quietly as I flipped through the paperwork in front of me, signing wherever my signature was needed. Every few minutes, I paused and looked out the large window of my study, eyes scanning the packhouse grounds with my eyes, hoping I’d see Calantha returning from her picnic. But as always, she wasn’t there. For what felt like the hundredth time, I looked back down at the files with a sigh and tried to focus.“What is wrong with me?” I muttered, a small, dry chuckle slipping out. It was honestly ridiculous how much this girl had gotten into my head. I felt like a kid waiting at the window for the ice cream truck. But I loved it, regardless.A knock came on the door.“May I come in?” Bradley’s voice called.“You may not come in.” I replied flatly without looking up.I heard him snort, then the door creaked open anyway and he stepped in.“What part of ‘you may not come in’ didn’t you understand?” I asked, still keeping my eyes on the documents.Bradley walked up to

CALANTHA“By the heavens…” I breathed out, shocked. I didn’t even realize I’d said it aloud.Lysandra snapped her head toward me, startled. She hadn’t seen me standing there. Her eyes were full of tears and fear, and she was still kneeling over the unconscious boy.“I—I didn’t hurt him. I swear,” she stammered immediately, her voice shaking as she sobbed. “I didn’t do anything to him.”The boy was losing blood fast. If we didn’t stop it soon, he was going to die.I quickly closed in on them and dropped to my knees beside them, placing my hands carefully over the wound. I looked at Lysandra’s tear-streaked face. “Help me. Now.”I shut my eyes and focused, pouring my energy into the injury. The bite was deep—too deep—but oddly clean, like it hadn’t been made by an animal at all.I paused when I noticed she wasn’t helping. She was just staring at my hands, pale-faced and frozen in shock.“What?” I snapped. “This isn’t the time to freak out. You see me using my ownpowers… I’m not hiding i
