The awkwardness between me and Lily was mostly gone thanks to my expert redirection.

I knew the only way to make things less awkward between us was to act like nothing happened.

I had a friendly game with my team and I’d invited her to come along, I was unsure of the mayhem she would bring upon herself if I left her alone.

It was my way of blowing of steam and getting her out of her shell. We were family and I needed the awkward moment we shared erased. At least that’s what I told myself.

I walked to and fro the living room while I waited for her to be done. She climbed down the stairs wearing a pair of jean shorts and a tank top. She looked so cute.

“All done.” She smiled at me and it took everything in me to not let my guard down.

“Let’s go,” I stated and we’d quickly headed to the car.

The drive was quiet but my mind felt like a whole mess having Lily by my side.
