Isabella POV

The door slammed shut like a final verdict, and the echo it left behind clawed down my spine.

Thalia was gone.

Good.

But also… not good.

I stood there, staring at the empty doorway, my jaw tight, my hands clenched into fists so tight my manicured nails bit into my palms. She always knew how to strike with words that bruised deeper than fists.

Asher still hadn’t moved. Enzo was frozen, eyes still on the spot where she’d stood.

“She’ll be back,” I said coolly, smoothing my blouse like I hadn’t just been ready to rip a woman’s throat out five minutes ago. “They always come back when they realize no one out there gives a damn.”

Enzo didn’t respond. He just looked… wrecked.

“She needed to leave,” I added, quieter now. “Before she took the whole house down with her.”

Still nothing.

I rolled my eyes, stepping around the room toward the window, watching as Thalia disappeared down the long winding path toward the woods, her silhouette a storm wrapped in leather.

Thaila – POV The sun was dipping low when I finally reached the hilltop that overlooked my pack’s territory. The carriage had only taken me as far as the border—it always did. Royal carriages weren’t allowed past that sacred line, not even for the daughter of the Beta. Protocol, honor, hierarchy. All those pretty little rules I was supposed to bow to. Screw that. I stepped out barefoot, my heels abandoned long ago when the trail turned into uneven rock and mud. My once pristine dress was stained with dirt and torn at the hem. My hair was a tangled storm around my face, and my eyes? My eyes were war zones—exhausted but refusing to surrender. The walk down the hillside felt longer than it should have. Each step sent sharp little stabs into the soles of my feet, but I didn’t stop. Not even when my ankle twisted and I had to bite down on my lip to keep from crying out. Pain had become a language I understood too well now. It spoke to me in a whisper, said: You’re still alive. Keep go

Mason POV The rogue lunged. I met him midair, claws bared, bones screaming with the impact as we crashed to the forest floor. He was strong—too strong for a random stray. Trained. Calculated. His fangs snapped inches from my throat, breath hot and foul, but I twisted, slamming my elbow into his jaw hard enough to make him grunt and roll off. I didn’t give him time to recover. One kick to the ribs. A sickening crack. Another rogue stepped from the shadows, tall and built like a tank, with scars down his cheek like claw marks that never healed clean. His eyes locked on me—cold and amused. Two more behind him. “Three against one?” I said, spitting blood from my mouth and rising to my feet. “Cowards travel in packs now?” The first rogue staggered up beside them, wheezing. “He’s fast.” “Not fast enough,” Scar-cheek replied smoothly. Behind me, Rufus let out a low, broken growl from where he lay bleeding in the clearing, his hulking wolf form barely holding together. His fur was

Thaila – POV I stomped through the driveway, each step feeling like a declaration of my rebellion, but I couldn't stop the adrenaline coursing through my veins. My heart was a shattered mess, but my pride was intact, burning hot and alive. I didn’t know what hurt more—the betrayal or the fact that I had to be the one to break away, to leave it all behind. I didn’t look back. Not once. Not even when Enzo called my name. "Thaila!" he shouted from behind, but I kept walking. Every inch of me screamed to keep moving, to never stop, to leave this nightmare behind and never look back. The sound of his footsteps closing in, his frustration growing louder, wasn’t enough to make me turn around. Not yet. The sharp wind cut through the tension, but my skin was still on fire, my body trembling with fury. I reached the edge of the driveway, the darkened woods beckoning. The world felt strangely quiet, as though everything was holding its breath. But then, his hand gripped my wrist. His fin

Thaila – POVI stared at Alpha Asher and Enzo, then at the stupid Isabella I once thought had enough sense to handle her own issues. What the hell did he just say? You're my sister? The words rang in my head like a slap.My fingers curled tighter around the handle of my bag, my knuckles pale. I wanted to leave. No, I needed to leave. That was the only thought looping through my brain. I didn’t want to breathe the same air as these people.“She’s not going anywhere,” Isabella said with a voice that dripped command, like she owned the damn world.I stared at her, stunned. And then I laughed. Loud. Ugly. Broken.“You must be out of your f*cking mind, Isabella,” I hissed, storming forward like the volcano inside me had cracked wide open. “I came here for peace, not chains. I came here for a visit, and that’s over. Me and my brother don’t belong here. Never did.”But before I could walk past her, Alpha Asher stepped in front of me.Blocking me.Again.This man just couldn’t stop standing i

…umble, just a little, like a wall cracking under pressure. For a second, I let myself melt into him—into us—because that’s what we had always been: fire and fury, love and war, passion and pain tangled into one impossible knot. But then I pulled back. “No,” I said, softer this time, but no less firm. “Not like this.”Demian’s brow furrowed. “Why not?”Because I’m afraid. Because the past is catching up. Because Enzo isn’t just a nuisance or a freak. He’s a threat. He knows too much. But I didn’t say any of that. I couldn’t.“Because I don’t trust you right now,” I said instead. His expression darkened, the muscle in his jaw ticking. “You don’t trust me?”I nodded. “Not when it comes to Enzo. You’re too close to him, too blind to see what he’s really capable of.”Demian turned away, dragging a hand through his hair in frustration. “You think I don’t know how dangerous Enzo is?” His voice cracked with emotion. “You think I haven’t been questioning everything lately?”“Then act like it
