Chapter 20
I was sitting comfortably on the couch when mom and dad joined me for us to have some bonding moments. Mom kept on hugging me like she was accounting for all the months that I’m away. Dad threw a lot of questions about my life in New York and I answered all of them happily. He couldn't believe that I was able to leave them for so long. Dad persuaded me to stay but I decided to go back. I could say that I’m still affected when Chadrick is around.
I was so busy talking to them when my phone quivered. Actually, it was the third time around. I reached for it and saw Bella’s name flashing on the screen. "Hey, bitch!" I sounded so lively. She was silent and in a few seconds, I heard her cry. She whispered my name and I felt alarmed that something horrible happened to her.
“Bella, what’s wrong?” my heart pounded nervously. She was sniffing “Mom got into an accident” she revealed and did not stop her sobs. I shushed “I’m coming,” I blurted quickly before we dropped the call.
