Chapter 19

The previous night's happenings made me tired. I felt tired not because of Dad’s party but because of my chaotic emotions. That night was a roller coaster because it made my heart pound so hard.

I sighed and buried my face in the palms of my hand. I slouched on the couch in my room and contemplated. I heard someone knocks on my door and it was my mom calling for breakfast.

Mom was serving me my favorite food and the happiness on her face was clearly visible. Dad cleared his throat “Princess would you like to work and handle some of our businesses?” he sounded so tender and the looked in his eyes was more on hoping for me to say yes.

“Dad I’m coming back to New York in three days because I have a job there,” I replied and mom looked at me with a sad expression. “Have you and Chad talked already?”Mom asked carefully. I inhaled a deep breath “We saw each other last night and we said our Hi’s,” I spoke nonchalantly.
