Chapter 7 The party invite

Come on Sanjana, it's my birthday and it is just a one-day outing. You have to convince your grandparents. Try to understand dear you are getting married in some months .please enjoy your remaining days in Dehradun with your friends. "

Kritika started in a pleading tone,Kritika and Sunita were the only friends of Sanjana. As they belong to well to do families Sanjana's grandparents have no problem. Although Kritika and Sunita's families were not as con.

Still, these three friends get along well. 

Three days before Sanjana's engagement,kritika has planned to celebrate her birthday in some resort as a full day outing,the other friends has no issues with that but Sanjana wants to be there, but her grandparents  will never allow her to go .sanjana was always accompanied with her nani to attend even friends birthday . So this outing going alone with friends is out of question .The present argument was going about that only ,Sanjana was trying to explain her situation to her friends .

" You know na nanaji will never allow this, for once Nani will be agreed but the other family members will make a big issue out of it."

" Why don't you give your party at your place or some nearby restaurant in the city. Jungle Men mangal Karna jaroori hai kya "Sunita suggested after seeing Sanjana's state.( it's a hindi quote refering to do fun in forest )

" Oh come on, it's my birthday after all, and I have invited only close friends. There are about only 15 girls. Trust me it will be a memorable outing for us "

" Ok I am not sure but I will request my nanaji. Let's hope for the best." Sanjana replied hopefully. 

Kritika and Sunita bunked the last lectures and decided to go shopping,they wanted some warm clothes and some new pairs of jeans and tops for the trip . They tag sanjana with them as her habit was denied first but kritika didn't listen to her excuses and assure her that they will return to college before her driver uncle 's arrival .

After reaching the mall Sanjana was looking at the western clothes in awe , how much she wanted a life in which she can wear whatever she likes without any restrictions but she knew it was not in her fate .

    Even she didn't expect anything from the Batra family too ,after all they are her inlaws . It was more than enough that they are ready for her further education . As she wanted to be an independent woman in life . 

Kritika and sunita bought many jeans and tops , they forced sanjana to buy some stuff  but she refused the western wear and instead she bought a beautiful suit from a boutique . Her nani always deposits some pocket money in her account and she used to carry the card as her nani requested her too .

 Kritika and sunita smiled at their naive friend 

They both really wanted that sanjana should come for the trip as before getting married she should have at least some fun in her boring life .

As the time was passing by sanjana started to panic so kritika and sunita wind up her leftover shopping and leave for their college 

They make it on time as Sanjana's driver uncle just reached there. 

   At Chauhan villa, the same evening.

It was the evening time when dhani chauhan was having her evening tea sitting on the lawn of her house . She was making her list for the arrangements of the upcoming engagement. 

    Nandini was sitting beside her helping her in the arrangements after she  had the habit of acting like a perfect daughter in law .She was showing her fake excitement for Sanjana's engagement.

   Any add on expenses make nandini more worried for the expenses her inlaws were doing  on sanjana's engagement and after this the wedding is still left . Nandini decides to talk to Narendra about this as she cannot allow her inlaws to waste the money like this that to on that girl 

   Sanjana entered the lawn in slow steps , observing Nandini 's presence she decided to talk later about the trip but it was her last chance as the trip is tomorrow only .

So she quietly seated on the chair beside her nani , dhani was telling her about the arrangements that are yet to be made .sanjana was just humming quietly as her mind was busy with other thoughts . 

    Dhani noticed her lost  state ' what happened gudiya do you want to tell me something ? Any problem bacha tell your nanj ? Do you want something else? 

Sanjana shakes her head in no 

' If you want i can leave i mean if you are hesitating to tell in front of me " nsndini played her card well .

 '' No ...no aunty ,it's not like ,that actually tomorrow is kritika's birthday. She planned party in the nearby resort between the forest.so i wanted to go there  , if you convince nanaji for this '

'   No beta ,how can we send you alone your nanaji will never agree to this. Give her some expensive gift after wards and say sorry for not attending her party '

 ' Nanima please , let me go , i just want to go on this trip you know na i never ask for anything but this time i want this please nanima you're the only one who can convince nanaji for this "

Nandini who was listening this argument carefully , thought this as a golden opportunity for her so she interfered 

 '    Mummy ji let her go she is right  '

.sanjana and Dhani both get  surprised , Nandini has taken her side for the first time in her life.

   

'  Nandini you know your papaji na ,he will never agree for this "

'Don't mind mummyji but we have to hide this from papaji ,at least we can do this much for sanjana's happiness "

" What do you mean? " 

"It's ok mummyji, let her go and enjoy at least once, before her marriage. Even papaji is going to Shimla tomorrow morning to discuss the marriage details with Batra's. He will not return before midnight, whereas Sanjana will be back before 7 in the evening .Right Sanjana ".sanjana nodded her head in yes.

Mrs Dhani Chauhan was not comfortable in hiding this outing program from her husband, but after seeing the expectation on Sanjana's face she agreed with Nandini 

Sanjana was on cloud nine, it's her first time going out of Dehradun with her friends. She hugged her nani in joy and thanked her aunty who blinked her eyes at her .

  She returned to her room and called her friends  to inform them about  getting the permission .Krutika and Sunita were overjoyed to hear this. They wanted to pick her up but she denied as she knew her nani would never allow this so she decided to travel in her car only with her driver incle.Its the only way that nani will not be worried about her safety .

She took out her new suit which she purchased today   she started thinking about the fun she is going to have tomorrow in the trip , in all these thoughts she dozed off in the 

Bed .

Without the knowledge of the upcoming storm.
