Lisa's POV

When I woke up, the first thing I noticed was the smell.

It wasn't the light, familiar scent of my own bedroom. The air was entirely filled with the heavy, rich aroma of Adrian's cologne, mixed with a faint trace of lavender fabric softener.

I opened my eyes, blinking against the bright morning light, but my breath instantly caught in my throat.

The room was vast, dominated by a heavy bookshelf and a double wooden dresser. I wasn't in my room.

Then if this wasn't my room, who…?

  • Stop Appearing In My Dreams, Brother-In-Law   Ethan's Guilt

Third Person POVLisa pushed through the glass doors of the library, her laptop bag weighing down her shoulder, and she felt completely worn out. The bright, drying campus plaza was teeming with students, but her eyes locked onto a familiar silhouette standing by the concrete pillar near the courtyard. It was Ethan. What was he doing at her school? They hadn't spoken properly since the day he left the house so abruptly without so much as a goodbye. Ever since then, his texts had been brief, clinical, and completely devoid of his usual warmth. He had been acting entirely weird, and while Lisa had spent the last few days trying to convince herself that the distance was just a product of his busy schedule and her own fracturing sanity, seeing him now made her chest tighten with a fresh wave of anxiety. She was so out of her mind, so completely out of her head with the heavy confusion of the past week, that she practically rushed down the steps toward him. She needed someone to talk

  • Stop Appearing In My Dreams, Brother-In-Law   School Resumes

Elena, entirely oblivious to the rot festering beneath the surface of her home, remained the fiercely doting sister she had always been. On the evening before classes officially restarted, she came into my room carrying a fresh load of laundry, setting it down before sitting on the edge of my bed."Are you ready for tomorrow, Lis?" she asked, her eyes full of genuine warmth as she reached out to tuck a stray piece of hair behind my ear. "I know how much pressure you've been under with that major research article. You've been so quiet lately, and I've been worried about you."Guilt, sharp and toxic, stabbed through my stomach. I swallowed hard, forcing a small smile. "I'm okay, El. Just a little nervous about getting back into the swing of things.""Well, you don't have to worry about the morning rush," Elena said softly, patting my knee. "I shifted my morning meetings around so I can drive you to campus myself. I want to make sure you have a stress-free start, okay? We can even g

  • Stop Appearing In My Dreams, Brother-In-Law   You Look... Unsatisfied

Lisa's POV A few days passed, and the house gradually transformed into a beautifully designed torture chamber.Adrian didn’t touch me. Not the way he had that morning in the kitchen, and certainly not with the suffocating weight that had pinned me to my mattress in my sleep. In fact, he pulled back entirely. The dreams that had left me waking up wet, needy, and aching stopped appearing, and I only saw traces of Adrian in my dream smiling at me. He never fucked me.And this left behind a cold, hollow void that felt infinitely worse. Instead of the relief I should have felt, a frantic, pathetic desperation began to take root in my chest. I found myself lying awake for hours, staring at the ceiling, unable to sleep, and then at some point, I wondered if I had been toyed with in reality and none of that was a dream. There was a possibility that the Adrian I knew was not so innocent after all.So I waited, hoping to hear the floorboards creek outside my room door, secretly begging for

  • Stop Appearing In My Dreams, Brother-In-Law   Elena had her own little secret

Adrian's POVThe click of the front door was a clean, sharp sound that officially put an end to my game.I smoothly adjusted my posture as I walked into the foyer, keeping my hands casually buried in my pockets. On the outside, I was the absolute picture of unbothered, doting perfection. But inside, my blood was singing.‘So close.’The memory of the sheer panic and desperate, twisted desire warring in Lisa’s wide eyes made a dark wave of satisfaction roll through me. It was intoxicating, watching her unravel like that. If Elena’s car hadn’t pulled into the gravel driveway at that exact millisecond, Lisa would have reached out. She would have pulled me down. I had been a hair's breadth away from breaking her completely, from forcing her to be the one to cross the line and initiate the sin. The anticipation of it sent a sudden, sharp throb straight to my cock—a tight ache of excitement that I masked flawlessly behind a calm, easy breath. It was annoying how everyone seemed to lov

  • Stop Appearing In My Dreams, Brother-In-Law   ...almost like you were trying to escape me

Even if I didn’t feel better, I could not admit it. To admit that his touch made me feel anything other than perfectly safe would be to confess to the sickness festering in my own head. It would mean acknowledging that a part of me was actively burning under the weight of his hands."Yes," I choked out, the lie tasting like ash on my tongue. "Yes, thank you, Adrian. I... I feel much better now."I placed my hands flat against his chest, intending to gently push myself away, to put a safe, respectable distance between us before I lost my footing entirely. But Adrian didn’t let go. His arms remained wrapped tightly around me, a solid, unyielding wall of muscle that easily countered my subtle resistance."Good," he murmured, his voice infuriatingly calm, though his thumb continued its slow, torturous rhythm against my hip. "I’m glad. You had me worried, Lisa. When you grabbed Elena like that... it almost felt like you were trying to escape."A cold sweat broke out across my collarbon

  • Stop Appearing In My Dreams, Brother-In-Law   I want to hug you

The sound of Elena’s car fading down the driveway felt like the final snap of a trap closing around me.I stood paralyzed near the kitchen window, watching the empty garage. I was alone with Adrian once again. Before I could even gather my thoughts, the soft scuff of slippers against the tile signaled his approach. Adrian walked over from the stove, holding a steaming bowl of ginger soup. His movements were fluid, completely unbothered, as if the suffocating tension in the room didn't exist."Here you go, Lisa," he said softly, setting the bowl down on the counter right in front of me. "Drink it while it's hot. It will help with the ache.""Thank you," I whispered. My throat felt tight, but I forced myself to pick up the spoon. I drank the warm, spicy liquid as quickly as I could tolerate, desperate to give him no reason to linger, no reason to question me further.Once the bowl was empty, I set the spoon down, hoping he would take the dish and return to the living room.
