Chapter 6: My Wife

I am in a huge and elegant room right now. I was brought here earlier by the two men I was with. They said that they just have to do something and would be right back.

They also warned me not to leave and wandered outside. So here I am, alone in this wide spacious room.

I am sitting on a richly bed, and my feet could even barely reach the floor because of its height.

I just moved my legs and collided with each other to have fun somehow because there was nothing to do in here, and I also didn't want to move because I might break anything. I know I can't afford it no matter what I break in this room, everything will be expensive, that's for sure.

I watched as the large door swung open.

When the man who knew nothing but to order me came in, I had just gotten up from my seat even though I couldn't reach the floor very well.

My future husband also came in.

I giggled secretly.

"Okay blonde, you can exit the room now. But, again, you are unable to communicate with anyone, is that clear?"

He kept saying that line like a thousand times, so I just nodded slowly.

Wait, did he just called me blonde?

"So... how about me? Can't I talk to her too? You're too possessive Spencer." My nod quickened at what I heard.

"Ah yeah right, Sybil will escort you today." He pointed to the man named Sybil, the handsome man I had met earlier in front of the hotel.

So Sybil is his name, cute.

"Let's go?" Sybil smiled at me before he turned back.

They both walked out of the room and I followed them out. Sybil took the lead, and it was only now that I realized how long this corridor was before we could descend the stairs.

Is this still a house? It's even bigger than a mall. If I was the one living here, I might just be in a wheelchair to just go to the stairs.

I quickened my pace a little so that I could keep up with this man.

"Hey..." I just whispered at him; I'm afraid my voice would echo if I say it louder.

He didn't even bother to look at me. I wasn't sure if he noticed me, so I grabbed his sleeve hem and shook it to get his attention again.

He just turned to me, I caught a glimpse of his beautiful eyes again. It really shines when it hits the light.

"What?"

"Does he..." I looked at Sybil in the front before looking at him again. "Already have a girlfriend?"

Such opportunities should not be missed, I must have the courage to ask.

"Why are you interested?"

"Just— cause — I am."

"If you've already begun to grow feelings for him, I advise you to put your fantasies aside right now. Sybil wouldn't even think of liking you. Just concentrate on your job tonight so you can leave after everything is done."

I was kind of offended by his answer, so I gave him a cold stare before speeding up my walk even more until I couldn't keep up with him.

As we were going down the stairs, I kept lifting my clothes because I felt like they were constantly sliding down since I'm not used to them. It is so uncomfortable that when I lift it becomes shorter, so I have to pull it down either.

"Sybil will look after you; I have to do something. You must remember that you can only come to me once you are called. And don't stay away from him." He said before stepping away.

When he left, the only thing I realized was how many people were there. Obviously, they were wedding guests.

The wedding design was so stunning that I stared at every aspect of this castle-like home. At first glance, I can tell that this marriage seems to be for the high society people. The theme is noticeable, it's white with gold accents. The cutlery, bowls, and chairs used, as well as the people's attire, were all golden.

Based on their clothing and the cars I've seen, I think they're all from wealthy families.

On either side of this house, there are a lot of flowers. The wedding will be held here at their home, I think it's a lot better if it's a beach wedding or a church.

My eyes landed on a variety of foods. That's a lot, but people here are not eating. My stomach churned, making a loud noise that could be heard right next to me. Sybil abruptly grabbed my hand and slung it over his shoulder.

"Come on, let's get you something to eat." Why does he have to see or hear me in these kinds of situations? I'm so embarrassed.

I caught a glimpse of a man looking at me as we headed toward the food. I believe he is the same age as my stepfather, Jorge.

Why is he staring at me? It's creepy. Isn't he the kind of jerk you see in movies? That old wealthy maniac. It's terrifying. I also stared at the old man thinking that he might remove his gaze, but I was wrong when this old man did not do so.

Sybil got my attention when he let go of my hand. We have reached the foods and everything looks delicious.

What would be the first thing I'd choose? Wait, Trina and Eliz are in the hotel. Is it okay if I bring some food home with me? These rich people here won't run out of it though.

"Get something to eat first. I need to talk to someone for a moment, then I'll come back to you. Is that alright?" He said to me in his soft voice, of course, my head nodded spontaneously.

I began to get a plate. I might be the first one to eat because it seemed like the meals are full and unreduced. I want to be shy but I'm really hungry. I only took a small amount at first, maybe I'll come back later.

I took a seat at a nearby table and started eating the food I had brought with me.

"Hmmm.." The foods are so good, especially this white one. I'm not sure what it's called, but it's fantastic. It's an irregularly shaped knobby little spheres range in size from an inch. It's in color cream or light brown, it looks like lumpy rough-skinned potatoes with a firm, spongy texture and a sweet earthy aroma. It also has a slight garlicky smell mixed with the scent of honey and cut grass.

I wish I know what it's called.

Someone sat in front of me in the midst of my praise for this delicious food."Sybil what do you call thi-"

I instantly covered my mouth when I realized that it wasn't Sybil who sit in front of me.

This man seems to be the same age as the man I married.

I'm doomed.

I am not allowed to talk to anyone here so I simply averted my gaze and pretended not to notice him. Maybe he's just here to share a seat, I'll just finish this food and then I'll leave because I can't go without consuming the foods I took. Especially this white one.

"You seem to be enjoying those white truffles huh?" I glanced at him when he said the name of the food I was eating.

So this is called white truffles?

It's the first time I've heard it, but it sounds adorable.

"Hey, you seem to be a newcomer here. Your face is unfamiliar to me. Who are you with?"

I continued to ignore him and just consumed this food in order to get out of here as quickly as possible.

"All right... Uh... what's your last name?"

I didn't even pay attention to him when he asked another question, but he kept talking.

"Crystal!" someone exclaims. When I turned to see who had called me, I saw Sybil approaching, so I reacted quickly.

"Crystal..." The weird guy said while nodding as if he got a piece of good information before he stood up and left.

"Did you say anything to him?" Sybil immediately asked me while still gasping for breath.

"I didn't say anything to him, it's you who told him my name." He shifted his gaze to the table.

"Are you done?"

I had leftovers to eat but I don't seem to be hungry anymore so I just nodded at him in response.

"Come, He needs you now." Even though I didn't know what to do, my heart pounded. It sounded really loud, with so much force it was as if it was coming out of me.

Sybil held me and literally dragged me to a large office, when we went inside I was surprised to see the people inside.

"Sorry Frank, I guess you can't win at all." The woman said smirking at the old man.

I'm pretty sure something happened here earlier because that woman and the man I married are facing each other and they are surrounded by these people.

"But I can." The man I married said confidently. "my offer explicitly states that you'll own Spencers Co., once were LEGALLY married." He said emphasizing the word legally.

The woman nodded while smiling she raised his hand to show her ring on the finger. "Yeah, it seems pretty legal to me." Why does she already have a ring? The wedding hasn't even started yet.

"Yeah, well, unfortunately, bigamy in Denmark is forbidden. You can't actually marry someone if you're already married to someone else." I can feel in his words the pride that's just like he has won a bloody battle.

What did he say again?

Bigamy?

Isn't that the act of going through a marriage ceremony while already married to another person?

Is this what he's talking about? His plan? This is so smart, but heartless.

"W-What are you talking about?" The woman in front of him could not believe what she just heard. I was surprised when his body faced me.

"This is Crystal, my wife."

As if my feet were nailed to the floor when I heard him said that in front of everybody in this room. Sybil gently pushed me to the front.

Can someone wake me up... again?
