Simon eyes were glued to the tab, he could see how peaceful Joanne was sleeping, oblivious that her death was about to be quickened. He wished he had super powers, but wishes weren’t horses.
Even though Simon was an ex marine; which explained how skilled he was in assassinations, he was still not strong enough to escape the situation he was in, if he tried to struggle; his wife would be executed instantly. And if he didn’t provide the money Freddy was asking for, he could loose his wife too. Freddy was an impatient and evil man, wasting a human life seems just like killing off an ant.
Simon King was an ex marine of the United States of America, he was a man in his late thirties; everybody was surprised when he decided that he was retiring, he had served for fifteen years before he filed for a retirement after a near death experience in Afghanistan. Most of his colleagues had died either in emergency wars or during secret operations.
Simon wanted to be with his wife, their one year old son had died due to leukemia; it was the one reason why he quit the army. He almost died and his only child died, all he could do was spend the rest of his life with his wife; enjoying her company as they hope for a new baby.
Unfortunately, things never goes as planned; his wife had developed pancreatic cancer long before he retired but she didn’t notice until he was back, Simon pensions weren’t coming like they should; he was unable to pay his wife hospital bill; after series of complain and calls to the US army about his pensions; a friend introduced him to Freddy Littleman. It was one of his colleagues in the army who had also retired, he was also working for Littleman but was about to leave the state so he had Simon replace him since he was in dire need of money.
It had been few months and Simon had only carried out 3 successful missions, the pay was good and steady till he fucked up this one and here he was in between the devil and the deep blue sea.
“You’re making me wait too long Simon, I’m not this patient; but because you’re one of us, I’m giving you this grace. For the last time, where is my fucking money Simon?” Freddy suddenly screamed the last sentence, startling both his men and Simon too.
Simon was still on his two knees, with both hands still held behind him; tears had gathered in his eyes, there seem to be no way out of this, the more he tried to think of a solution; the more confused he got. This wasn’t meant to happen, if Joanne died this way, he was going to blame himself for it. He could have saved her, if only he completed the mission giving to him, he could have saved his wife.
He was reluctant and felt too accustomed to his assassinations, he underestimated his victim and they escaped. Now he had to watch his wife get shot in the head for not killing his victim.
Simon tried his best to let the words out of his mouth, but they weren’t stable, his lips trembled and his voice wasn’t that clear.
“Just one day boss, give me just one day, I’ll do all i can to get your money back,” Simon pleaded with gathered tears in his eyes, tears that mustn’t fall off. A soldier never cries. He took his gaze away from the tab and bowed his head down to the ground using both hands to make a pleading gesture.
“Why do you lie Simon? Don’t you wish to save your wife, there’s no way you’d have spent three hundred thousand dollars within twenty four hours,” Freddy replied and gave out an evil chuckle.
Standing in front of his desk, he was only slightly taller than it, something Simon had always found funny all this while; but today it wasn’t funny at all.
“I used the money for my wife’s treatment boss, I’ve been owing past debts; the money was able to clear all of her hospital debts and pay for new ones. Kill me instead boss, just let her go; she isn’t involved in this,” Simon voice was firm now but it sounded exactly as a plea, he wasn’t sure whether to get angry or sorrowful.
He couldn’t control his emotions any longer, if he got angrier; he’d do something stupid and Joanne would be killed, if he got sorrowful; he was going to burst into tears in front of men which would be an embarrassment to his pride and honor. This was a situation that Simon King had never dreamt to experience.
There was a tiny bit of a surprise expression on Freddy’s face, but it quickly disappeared in seconds, he knew Simon’s history so it wasn’t so surprising that he used up all the money to pay for his wife’s hospital bill. Still, it only got Freddy angrier, he wasn’t ready to believe Simon, all he wanted was the money he had requested.
“Let me tell you this Simon, you’re the only person who have seen me patient for this long, and the more you plead, the more your wife bleeds. The only thing that can save her is if you show me where the money is.” It was clear enough that Freddy was trying to calm his anger, the way he talked. For some time, he had forgotten that his cigarette had ran out.
Simon felt like giving the short man in front of him a very hard jab on his jaw, but that would only kill his wife instantly, he was so angry still he couldn’t lift a finger. Hatake was still standing beside him, showing him the tab. The masked man hadn’t moved from that position ever since. Simon knew if he took any wrong step, his head would roll.
He glanced at the tab once again as he thought of what to say, Joanne was still sleeping peacefully on the hospital bed and Freddy’s men were still there pointing pistols at her. Simon wondered were the doctors and nurses where, it was certain that Freddy’s men was pointing guns to their heads outside the room.
“Kill me boss, I’m the one owing you, killing my wife wouldn’t do any good; she has pancreatic cancer and the probability that she’s going to die is very high, let her enjoy the remaining days she has on earth. Please take my life in exchange of hers,” once again, Simon voice sounded firm but with a pleading tone, like a servant he who was asking his master to punish him for disobedience.
Freddy lighted up the cigarette by himself this time and suddenly out of anger threw the lighter at Simon. It hit Simon right in his forehead.
“I’m not going to kill you Simon, I’m going to watch you suffer, and still you’d bring me my money after your wife is dead!!!!” Freddy yelled angrily.
“Do it Hatake!!” He added.
“As you wish Shisho,” Hatake responded, he held the earpiece on his left ear and gave the other.
“Kill her!” He ordered.
As soon as he said that, Simon jumped at him; but he was held back by the three guards behind him. The next thing he heard were three rounds of a nine millimeter Auto 1A pistol......
Tears trickled down Simon’s eyes when he heard the gunshots that came from the tab, he quit his struggle and the guards let go of him. He fell on his knees again and tried all he could to fight back the tears, but it was possible this time. Simon’s head was on the marble floor, the scent of the old wood went through his nostrils as he wept. He was boiling inside with anger and rage, there was no way he could take on this many guards but Simon was about to loose his cool and doesn’t care if he died here or not. There was no joy in living anymore. Freddy filled the room with his marijuana again, there was an evil grin curling at the side of his lips, he looked at Simon and heard his weeping; he never seen an assassin cry, not over a wife or child. This was the first, assassins were humans without emotions, their job doesn’t allow for emotions; else they wouldn’t be able to carry it out. He wondered how Simon murdered people but still has this much love for his wife. Understanding wou
Simon coughed and gasped, his eyes were heavy and blurry; the back of his head hurts like hell. It was all a dream after all, the sex; it felt so real. Why would he be having such a dream during a situation like this, although it wasn’t just a dream, it was like a perfect reshoot of when he first retired; that was the first sex he had with his wife. However, his dream had modified some parts. It was an intense romance that day, you could imagine what it was like not having to touch a woman for years, he gave his all and fortunately, his wife was ready for him. She gave him one of the best welcome home sex. His vision started to clear bit by bit and the pain behind his head reduced, even though his vision was clearing up, he couldn’t see much. It was still dark, that was when he remembered. “Joanne!” Simon called out weakly, struggling to get out of the rubbles he was in. The mafia gangsters had dumped him in a refuse area, which was in between tall buildings; nobody would ever fi
Nick quickly stop the engine of the truck and got out in a hurry, holding his gun holster as he ran directly to the hospital. The nurse that called him started towards the entrance when she saw Nick coming. Nick followed her, she was going to take him to the scene. He had to be very cautious, but there was no way Nathaniel would have been an assassin; the hospital was still very calm and activities were going on normally, it was like the news haven’t gotten to anybody except the staffs of the hospital. If Nathe was an assassin, the gunshot would have created chaos and there was no way he would have escaped unless he passed through the front entrance. Nobody noticed them as they went past the reception. “This way Mr. Officer,” Nick heard the woman saying as she hurried down the hallway. He followed her quickly from behind, very at alert; one hand was on his holster. The nurse finally entered a room, Nick sighed; he retrieved his Beretta from the holster and entered the room, taking
Simon quickly raised his head to see who it was, to his surprise; there was no body at the door. He must be hallucinating, he covered his face with his hands again and continued his weeping.“I’ll avenge you Joanne, i promise,” Simon muttered through clenched teeth, there was this pain he felt; a kind of pain you feel when you couldn’t do anything to save the one you love. If he was going to avenge Joanne’s death; he would need to devise a plan, killing Freddy Littleman wouldn’t be easy. ***Diana cleaned the counter of the bar once again, she had done this hundreds of times since she began working that evening. The drinks keep spilling on the counter, she was not used to pouring drinks for customers. This was her first day as a bartender in the Simpsons; everywhere was bubbling with lights. Not just lights, but different color lights. The DJ was making the crowd go crazy as they danced merrily on the dance floor. The nightclub was a very large open space, Diana knew nightclubs li
“How can you say that loud Julia?” Nick complained, he felt irritated; she had just blown his cover, now Diana wouldn’t give him any listening ears, she now knows the truth or have an idea that he was having an affair with Julia. “Nobody heard it Nick, just the three of us, what’s the big deal,” Juliana answered reluctantly, pouring herself another round of Johnnie Walker’s, she stole a glance at Diana. She doesn’t seem so surprised. Juliana did it on purpose, Nick was starting to have this funny conversation with Diana and she couldn’t help but disrupt it. This was the exact reason she never wanted a colleague, but the boss insisted. Diana just kept mute, it wasn’t as if there was anything she could say either; but it was now obvious. She saw the reason why Juliana was dressed like an escort, she actually did the escort job or maybe Nick was her boyfriend. There was no way Juliana would be that blunt if Nick was her boyfriend, Diana thought. She just had to keep watching. “Fuck t
Diana knew she heard Julia say something, but she didn’t get it; she had concentrated too much on the chitchat with the customer. She moved her gaze towards Juliana and to her surprise, Julia was walking towards her. Diana almost thought she was coming to her, not until Julia walked right past her and went out of the bar. Diana’s gaze followed her as she walked straight to were Nick was sitting, she grabbed him by the arm and walked away from the counter; they went straight into the dance floor and that was were Diana view got to. “Hope everything’s fine?” The man she had been chatting with called out when he saw that Diana was looking at the dance floor area with confusion on her face. His voice startled Diana, she had completely forgotten about him in just that instant. “Oh! Sorry, everything’s okay,” she gasped, and placed a fake smile on her face. “Is there anything else i can get you?” Diana added, still stealing glances at the dance floor, she wondered where they disappeare
As she kissed him, Juliana remembered the first day Nick requested for sex; she was unbelievably scared and quickly denied the fact that she was an escort. She was really shocked that a policeman was asking to hookup with her, it seemed like a plan to arrest her. But Nick assured her that he wasn’t going to arrest her; he gave her the opportunity that if he does, she could report him for smoking and drinking on duty and on uniform. That was were it all began, her entanglement with the police detective. Her lips seemed softer than normal, and her tongue were soothingly warm as it danced with his, she moved her waist back and forth as she kissed him passionately, the way she moved her waist around was charging up his rod. There was nothing else in Nicks mind, even the thought of Diana had drowned; this woman whom he had had sex with severally was suddenly giving him romance at a level beyond normal. He had always gave her sex with the thought that she was just a mere escort, but as
Nick was confused, he turned over from the mirror to face Julia; she was already on the floor, packing her stuffs off the ground. “What’s wrong with me saying her name Julia,” Nick inquired, the confusion was written clearly on his expression. She’d say she liked him, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t talk about or approach other ladies. For the record, they’ve not started dating yet, he wondered why Julia was acting so wild. “Everything is wrong about it Nick, absolutely everything,” Julia paused and screamed the words to his face. She had her panties and bra on already and was fumbling with her gown. Her heart was thumping, Julia wasn’t sure why all these was happening, she didn’t know why she got so fucking jealous anytime he talks about the newbie. Yeah, they weren’t dating, at least not yet, she wasn’t supposed to be this jealous; but they had an entanglement already. Maybe that was the real problem, the attachment. Nick heaved a sigh, there was no point in dragging this iss
