Phoebe Scott stood in the living room of the expensive mansion she’d become familiar with. Today was going to determine the fate of her future with Trevor Maddox. She checked the time for the umpteenth time, wondering if he would show up. He doesn't like her coming without notice.

She'd been in a relationship with him for the past four years. Although it was clearly stated in the contract she’d signed that she was needed for sex, which she had agreed to as she was in desperate need of money, it wasn't the case anymore.

“What if he doesn't come?” she soliloquized, anxiety gripping her in a tight embrace. Her feet found their way to the wine collection rack where she poured herself a drink from one of the many bottles sitting there. She took a big gulp as she closed her eyes, savoring the sweet taste of the wine on her tongue. She wouldn't be enjoying such luxury if she hadn't met him. If she hadn't agreed to be his sex toy, she would probably still be in the streets finding the money to pay her father's huge heart surgery bills, their house rents, and even money for feeding. She owed Trevor her life, literally.

Their first meeting happened to be the day her landlord kicked her out of the house, paying deaf ears to her helpless pleas. Trevor had been her prince in shining garments as he helped her pick her stuff up before driving her to this mansion which was his private property. After making her feel at home and she’d sobered up a bit, he asked about her story and after she was done with explaining her life ordeals, brought up an offer which she grabbed with both hands. “It was just for a year,” she had thought. “And he was a good-looking fellow. So without giving it any more thought, she scribbled her signature on the document.

And Trevor never gave her any reason to regret her decision all through those years. He paid her father's hospital bills and also bought her a three-bedroom apartment.

Since then, Phoebe became his secret slut, with them meeting at his secret mansion twice every week to have sex. She knew nothing about him other than the fact that he seemed to be from a rich background and was keeping her a secret. She never bothered anyway, as it was entirely business, and if the truth must be told, enjoyed every bit of the activity. Whenever they were in the heat of the moment, she felt like she was in heaven, with each deep thrust of Trevor sending waves of pleasurable sensations through her. He wasn't rough in bed and in fact, took his time to cherish every part of her body like she was the most expensive asset in his possession. It felt more like lovemaking than it was a hook-up.

“I shouldn't have told him that over the phone,” Phoebe mumbled to herself. Just then she heard footsteps and instinctively, while thanking her stars that he'd showed up, walked in calculated steps towards the door. On the very first knock, she opened the door and was graced with the magnificent figure of him, looking as handsome and well-put-together as he’d always been. She hadn't noticed that it had been raining outside, if not for the few patches of water she saw on his suit. The look in his eyes was evidence of his foul mood and it made Phoebe involuntarily swallow saliva. Shifting to the side, she let him in as she braced up for what was to come.

Phoebe shut the door behind him and walked with him into the living room. Trevor removed his suit jacket and threw it on the arm of one of the chairs. He did the same with his white T-shirt which made Phoebe avert her gaze. Even though she’d seen him naked a couple of times, she still felt shy when he casually did stuff like that. A hand pulled at her chin and soon her eyes were locked with the brown ones of Trevor.

“What's up with the message?”

Phoebe was taken aback by the tone of his voice which was a big contrast to the look he had on. She knew he was just trying to be cool. She opened her mouth to say something but her words betrayed her, a low sigh coming out in its place.

Trevor's facial expressions softened as he watched her display, his initial anger dispersing into thin air. Without hesitation, he sealed his lips to hers. Since he’d risked coming here, without prior notice, why let the day go to waste? He was pissed with how she'd summoned him to meet her today for something urgent but now he didn't even care to know what it was. He couldn't deny that this woman was irresistible, the exact reason he had offered her the contract in the first place. He wasn't the type to give conditions before helping one in need, but the way her long and full lashes had fluttered in tears, with her lips trembling and her petite figure looking so calm, awakened a once limp member between his thighs. He always fancied having a sweetheart for the sole purpose of sex and has had a few in the past, but has never imposed the decision on anybody but Phoebe was different. Destiny threw her at his feet and he took it as a golden opportunity to strike his deal.

She didn't return the kiss but it only urged him on as he deepened it, his huge hands circling her tiny waist. She moaned into his mouth but it did nothing more than fuel his already aroused self. Another light moan fell out of her lips and it made him smile into the kiss. They kissed for some time, their tongues battling like two wrestlers, for one that would dominate the other. With his lips still entwined with hers, he led her to the bedroom and soon they were a foot away from the king-sized bed. He made to remove the strings of her silk gown that exposed a fair amount of her breast when her hand held his in place.

“Le_Let’s talk first, Trevor.” Her voice broke the silence of the room. There was a hint of uncertainty and urgency laced to it.

It felt like time had paused after Trevor’s words settled in the air. Mary’s fingers tightened around her purse, the corners of her mouth twitching like they had a mind of their own. Trevor’s gaze locked on Indigo with an intensity that threatened to strip her of clothing. Her heart thumped erratically in her chest, working itself to give her a heart attack. Had Trevor just confessed feelings to her and in front of his ex-wife? Her former Madam? She blinked once. Then twice. Trying to convince herself that it was real and not a dream. “I just remembered I have something doing,” she broke the silence. Her words tumbled over themselves as she wiped the lone tear that had fallen from her eyes. Without waiting for permission, she turned on her heels and walked away. A part of her wishes to see Mary’s expression but she couldn’t bring herself to. “Indigo,” She heard Trevor call but she continued walking. As soon as she closed the door, Mary let out a short laugh. “

Two days to weekend and Mary sat across from Trevor in his home office, cladded in a blue dress that accentuated her curves. The faint smell of citrus lingered in the air. After hearing the details of how Ethan had pushed her down the stairs and she had miscarried, Trevor had finally agreed to aid her in her quest to bring him down. But then, it was on the condition that she confessed all of her misdeeds to his mother. Ever since then, she’d been dropping by at his house with files of all sorts, all of which exposed not only the illegal businesses he was into but also his fetish sexual life. Trevor leaned back on his plush chair, a low sigh tearing from his lips. “We don’t have to make any mistake,” Mary said, her fingers turning white from too much squeezing. “Or Liam might end up loosing his life.” Her voice cracked at the mention of Liam’s name, hinting at the flicker of doubt that burned within her. Trevor’s eyes remained on the rough sketches he had mapped out on a paper.

The knock sounded on the door just as Lucas was about leaving for work. Phoebe had just left a few minutes ago with Ivan for school. Picking up his briefcase from a corner, Lucas adjusted the cuff of his shirt and walked towards the door. The knock came again, simultaneously as he opened the door only to see his mother standing there, a displeased look etched on her face. A bitter taste filled his mouth as her eyes slid past his shoulders before settling on his face. It’d been a week since Marcy confession, and he’d refused to take any of her calls despite Phoebe’s pleading that he at least heard her out. “Finally,” she said. “I was beginning to think that maybe you were avoiding me.” ‘I was.’ The reply danced around his lips but he bit back on his tongue. His fingers tightened around the handle of the briefcase until his knuckles paled. Ignoring her comment, he turned back towards the living room, leaving her to invite herself in. He heard her scoff as she walked past

“I’ve always known she was a green snake in green grass,” Annie uttered in distaste. She dropped onto the edge of the bed with a grunt, the mattress dipping under her weight. She reached for Phoebe’s face for the umpteenth time.“I’m fine, Annie,” Phoebe said quickly, shifting her head just in time to avoid her grasp.Annie ignored her and proceeded to cup her face with both hands, tilting her head from side to side. Phoebe bit back a laugh, the serious expression on Annie’s face making it impossible. She looked like a surgeon preparing to make the first incision on her patient.“I wish I’d been here then,” Annie said, finally releasing her. Her shoulders looked tense and her jaw was clenched. “I swear to God I would have torn her apart.”Phoebe’s gaze flicked instinctively to Annie’s stomach. A small, breathy laugh escaped her before she could stop herself. “You seem to be forgetting you are pregnant, almighty wrestler.”“Don’t look at me like that,” Annie shot back defensively. “Y
