Chapter 3

FLASHBACK (continues)

"This wedding won't be cancelled." Said Mr. Khanna with an unreadable expression. " But how can this be possible without the bride." Asked Mrs. Khanna and we all looked towards him for answer.

" The bride is here in front of us." He said and came towards me. I looked at him with confusion. He smiled and continue the conversation "If you all agree... I want my son to marry your younger daughter Divya." He said leaving everyone shocked in the room.

" No. That's not possible. She is so young for getting married." Said Bhai. " And besides she is still studying." 

" Dad Satyam is right. I can't marry her or any girl right now. It's about my life..... It's a marriage not a game, where you could change players." Raunak said angrily. And stromed out of the room. " Raunak ... Wait" Mrs. Khanna followed her son.

" We should talk to our families separately and then decide what to do. But I still think that this is the only way and I will try to convince my son. Just think about it for once." He said to my father and walk out of the room.

"I think he is right." Said my mother. I looked at my mother shocked but I was more shocked when my father also agreed. " Papa, maa what are you both saying we can't let this happen. She is so young." Bhai tried to Convince them but for no use. They were adamant. They argued for some time at last Bhai left the room slamming the door. I was just sitting on the bed, watching all that but don't know what to do. " Divya..." Maa called me breaking my chain of thoughts. I looked at her. " Do you trust us?" She asked and I nodded my head. "Doll we only want the best for you. We know that Raunak is 9 years older than you and you are not ready to get married right now. But trust me you will not regret this decision." He said  caressing my cheek.

" Your papa is right. Besides if the situations were different we won't let you marry him. But we can't do anything. Our pride is at stake and only you can save us plz Divya marry him. And you also know that he is a good human being. You will be happy with him. Plz Divya say yes."  My mother said wiping her tears.

I looked at my father and he was also crying. I never seen him cry and it broke my heart. I can't see them cry. I don't know I will regret it or not but I have made my mind. Whether it's right or wrong I don't know but I can't let them get embarrassed in front of the world. "I ... Will marry him .. papa" I said hesitantly. " Really?" Maa asked surprised and I nodded my head. "But what, if  he still hasn't agreed." I asked. " I will marry you." Hearing this we turned our heads and looked towards the door, there stood Raunak with his parents. 

I was not expecting this but I think this is my fate.

I still don't know what makes him agree to this marriage but who cares about this thing. It doesn't matter anymore. One decision just changed our lives and here I am sitting beside him in his car going to his house. Leaving everything behind my house, my family and my dreams.
