LOGINI slowly pulled my head back when I didn’t get any response from Samuel. But just as my face moved a few centimeters away, his hand suddenly grabbed the back of my neck. He pulled me back with a strong jerk, then immediately sealed my lips with a fierce, hungry kiss.
Inside, I cheered in triumph. I didn’t stay still. I returned Samuel’s kiss with equal passion, devouring his lips, demanding more, while my hand slipped into his hair. This was the response I had been waiting for.
The kiss broke with both of us breathing heavily. But when I looked into his eyes, the warmth vanished, replaced by that same cold, flat gaze, as if the passion earlier had only been a fleeting illusion.
“Leave…” he hissed.
Hearing that, I looked at him in confusion. How could it be that after such a heated kiss, I was being dismissed just like that? Samuel should take responsibility. Something stirred inside me. I wanted more than just a touch on the lips, especially with his tempting body right in front of me.
“Leave, Emelia…!” His voice rose in warning.
“Why? Why should I leave? Why don’t we do more than this?” I challenged, refusing to get off his lap.
“Leave! I said leave, so leave!” he snapped, his anger erupting.
I froze for a moment at the blazing anger in his eyes. His chest rose and fell as he struggled to contain emotions I couldn’t quite read. Was it pure anger, or fear because his defenses were starting to crumble?
In the end, I chose to stand up. I stepped back and decided to leave him alone. After all, that stiff husband of mine had already given in and returned my kiss. That was enough for today. Maybe tomorrow, I would try a bolder way to tear down his walls.

I truly couldn’t read Samuel’s mind. Every time I made a mistake, he would punish me. And now, after daring to kiss him earlier, I was being punished again.
Just imagine, at this hour of the night, I was told to clean thousands of books in his study. I let out a rough sigh. Instead of organizing them, I chose to sit in the corner. Besides, the place was already spotless, not even a speck of dust. What was the point of cleaning it again? I might as well read.
But since I didn’t like reading, after just one page, my eyes grew heavy. Without realizing it, I fell asleep on the library floor. Strangely, when I woke up this morning, I was still there, but my body was covered with a thick blanket and my head rested on a soft pillow.
Who did this? Was it Samuel?
The corner of my lips lifted. I was sure that behind his cold and harsh demeanor, Samuel had a gentle side that he kept hidden.
I quickly got up and hurried to his room with a fluttering heart.
I knocked on his door while calling his name, but there was no response. To hell with his rules, I pushed the door open and entered again. The more I was forbidden, the more I would rebel.
My smile widened when I saw him still fast asleep under the covers. Boldly, I slipped under the same blanket. I hugged him tightly, not caring about what would happen next.
“What are you doing, Emelia?!” Samuel snapped as soon as he opened his eyes and found me clinging to him like a koala.
“Sleeping in my husband’s room,” I replied calmly, not letting go.
“Leave!”
“I won’t. I want to sleep with you.”
“Leave, Emelia!”
I sat up, but instead of leaving, I deliberately positioned myself on top of him. “Why should I leave? We are husband and wife, Samuel. I should be sleeping in your arms. Come on, let’s sleep together again.”
“Don’t make me angry, Emelia,” he said, letting out a long breath as he tried to control his emotions.
I nodded with a mischievous smile. Deliberately, I placed a brief kiss on his cheek, then moved to his forehead, nose, and finally his lips. I kissed him slowly, then looked deep into his eyes.
“Kiss me again, okay? I want to kiss, Samuel,” I whined softly. Without waiting for his approval, I sealed his lips again with passion. I explored every part of his lips until he finally responded. Samuel gripped the back of my neck, deepening the kiss.
When the kiss broke, I remained on top of him, resting my head against his warm, broad chest.
“Samuel, I know you’re a good person. Thank you for marrying me,” I said sincerely. After all, he was the one who had freed me from a family that treated me like a servant.
“I don’t care if you treat me like a maid or consider me just a contractual wife. To me, this marriage is real. You are my husband, Samuel. So if you want to take our relationship further... I’m ready,” I whispered as my fingers began to trace his chest.
I heard a low sound escape his lips. Boldly, my hand began to move lower, about to touch him more intimately. But before I could, Samuel grabbed my wrist.
“That’s enough! Go out and take a shower!” he ordered, his breathing slightly uneven.
I pouted in annoyance. “Let’s shower together.”
Samuel shot me a sharp look. I just laughed softly and leaned in again to steal a quick kiss from his lips. I was starting to get addicted to them.
“Thanks for the kiss. Next time, don’t stop at just that. If possible, let’s go further,” I said, winking teasingly. Then I got off the bed and walked out toward my room with a sense of victory.

I felt unusually cheerful that morning. I walked lightly toward the large kitchen, where professional chefs were usually busy preparing luxurious meals for the residents of this mansion.
“What would you like to eat, Ma’am?” the head chef asked politely when he saw me.
“I want to cook,” I replied briefly.
“Cook? What do you need, Ma’am? Let me prepare it for you,” he offered hesitantly, perhaps afraid I would mess up his expensive kitchen.
I looked at him sharply. I wanted to make something special for my husband, not just eat someone else’s cooking. “I want to cook myself. That’s final,” I said firmly.
“But let me—”
“No! Step aside, I want to make something with my own hands!” I cut him off.
“Just let her.”
A deep voice interrupted us. Samuel had just arrived in his wheelchair. “Everyone leave. Let her cook here alone,” he ordered coldly.
One by one, the servants and chefs left the kitchen, leaving only me and Samuel in an intimate silence. I smiled in satisfaction, feeling that he had dismissed them so we could spend time together.
“So, what do you want to eat? I’ll cook you something delicious,” I asked as I tied my hair and rolled up my sleeves.
“Nothing fancy. I still want to live,” he said dryly.
I glared at him at that sharp remark. My cooking wasn’t that bad. It wouldn’t kill anyone. “I can cook, you know! I guarantee you’ll get addicted to my food,” I challenged, placing my hands on my hips.
“Fine. Prove it,” he replied, looking at me dismissively.
I smirked as a mischievous idea crossed my mind. “If my cooking is good, can I ask for something in return?”
“What?”
I stepped closer to his wheelchair and bent slightly so our faces were level. “I want us to have a real husband and wife relationship,” I whispered with a challenging gaze.

(POV: Emelia)Even I didn't know why, that night, I had suddenly wanted Samuel's touch and warmth so badly. Considering that throughout these nine months of my second pregnancy, I hadn't been able to be anywhere near him at all. In fact, whenever Samuel dared to come close, my head would immediately start spinning and my stomach would turn violently nauseous. But that night, the hormonal wall that had tormented my husband for months seemed to crumble without a trace.“Ah, Samuel... I've missed you so much,” I moaned long and low after finally reaching such an intense release in his embrace. But just as a sigh of relief had barely escaped me and I was about to rest my head against his broad chest, a tremendous pressure suddenly slammed into my lower abdomen. The nausea that had been plaguing me all this time turned into a powerful wave of contractions that gripped my womb without mercy.“Ahhh! It hurts...!” I cried out at once, gripping Samuel's muscular arm with all my strength.“It h
(POV: Samuel)I was so happy to hear that Emelia was carrying our child again. Yet at the same time, honestly, a deep sadness crept into my mind as well. How could I not be sad?All this time I hadn't been able to bear being far from her, always holding and kissing her. And now? I was the one being exiled, forced to keep a safe distance! Even now, inside the obstetrician's examination room, I was forced to stand cornered in a corner of the room for the sake of my beloved wife's comfort. Because if I took even two steps closer to her, Emelia would immediately complain of dizziness and end up vomiting violently.“This pregnancy really is unique and different, isn't it, Mrs. Emelia,” the obstetrician praised with an amused smile after listening to her complaints. “During the first pregnancy, it was Mr. Samuel who had to bear the nausea and dizziness. Now it's your turn to feel it, Mrs. Emelia.”“And the biggest problem is, he won't come near me or let me touch him at all, Doctor,” I cut
Honestly, Samuel and I hadn't delayed at all in giving Gabriel a little sibling. Ever since my psychological and physical condition had fully recovered, we had actually been hoping eagerly for the arrival of our second child to fill this mansion with more life. But the thread of fate hadn't sided with us for the past several months. I still hadn't gotten pregnant. Every time my period was late, I would hurry to test myself with a pregnancy test kit, yet the result on the testpack always showed a single line — negative. That repeated disappointment slowly made me more relaxed and resigned about it.So now, if these nausea symptoms were being linked to pregnancy, I really wasn't convinced. My logic firmly rejected the idea. I even felt like I had only just finished my last period. Could I possibly be pregnant this fast? Impossible, I thought. This had to be purely because Samuel's cologne suddenly didn't agree with my sense of smell. It smelled truly foul, sickening, and it stabbed at m
The next day, a feeling of happiness surged twofold through our home. The atmosphere inside our mansion felt so alive and warm because everyone had gathered here. Lately, our parents—both my own and Papa Arturo—had indeed been spending their free time far more often at our house instead of their own residences. The mansion that had once felt so quiet was now always filled with the sound of laughter.“If you can, hurry up and give Gabriel a new little sibling soon, Emelia. Papa still wants lots of grandchildren so this house gets even livelier,” Papa Arturo said suddenly, as we gathered in the living room. His expression looked sulky, since he still hadn't gotten a turn to hold his grandson.“Huh? Instead of demanding things from my wife, why don't you just get married again, Papa?” It wasn't me who answered, but Samuel, who cut in right away with a casual tone. The man then shifted closer, wrapping his arm posses
Emelia’s POVI could never resist the gentle touch of Samuel’s hands. His strong fingers always managed to instill a sense of comfort, while also serving as the strongest shield that made me feel completely protected ever since I became his wife. The weight of trauma, the fear of loss, and the shadows of the past instantly vanished every time my body nestled into his embrace. After making sure Gabriel was sound asleep in his crib in the corner of the room, Samuel came back to me on the bed. He began to pamper me with a series of warm, gentle kisses, which made my body burn even more with passion. At first, he kissed my forehead reverently, then moved down to both cheeks, before finally sealing my lips with a soft, lingering kiss full of sweet longing. His kisses slowly drifted down to the hollow of my neck, nuzzling my skin there and making me reflexively tilt my head back in surrender. The sensations he evoked always managed to make me head ov
"Samuel...!"I immediately caught Emelia in my arms, holding her tightly the moment I stepped into the family room of the main mansion. I breathed in deeply the familiar scent of her body, pouring out a longing that had swelled almost unbearably, even though we had only been apart for a few days."My wife is really this happy, hmm?" I said softly, stroking her long, silky hair.Emelia nodded firmly. She looked up, gazing at me with eyes shining with happiness. "Mm! Papa Lucas already told me everything, Samuel. I'm so happy that the wicked people who carried out the kidnapping and plotted the destruction of our family have now been utterly destroyed!""That's right, my love. Now you don't need to be afraid anymore. I swear I will never let a single bastard dare touch you or our child again," I replied reassuringly.Emelia nodded slowly again. Then, unexpectedly, she rose on her tiptoes and kissed my lips briefly. Of course, I wasn't a
POV Emelia I froze for a moment when I heard Samuel accept my challenge. Without wasting any time, I immediately stepped toward the stove, my excitement overflowing.Ah, damn. Suddenly, I had no ideawhat to cook for him. After thinking hard, I decided to make something simple
I don’t know what task he’ll give me next. For the past hour, Samuel has been fixated on the laptop screen at his desk, while I’ve been ordered to stand still in the corner of the room.Does this man have no sense of compassion? Just imagine it, my legs have gone numb from standing for more than an
I truly felt that the man who was now my husband was insane.Yes, insane. Samuel De Leon had no sense of humanity at all. My entire body ached, especially my waist, which felt like it might break after having to pick up thousands of fallen leaves in that vast yard.I let out a long breath as I lay
“This is your room, Madam...”I looked at the room the servant had just shown me. It was quite large, even very spacious compared to my room in my old house, which only had a thin mattress that left my whole body sore every morning.“I sleep alone?” I asked directly.
