Jasmine’s brows creased slightly, her eyes narrowing slightly as she sized Hilary up. She crossed her arm, her eyes flashing with a mixture of suspicion, curiosity and hostility. The mention of Hilary being Ethan's ex girlfriend didn't sit right with her. How would a lady, dressed all pretty, drenched in perfumes and piercings walk up to her door and introduce herself as her fiance's ex girlfriend.

Hilary Mercer?

Her name echoes in Jasmine's mind, the memories of Ethan's past flooding back.

“Excuse me, you said you're what, again?” Hilary asked, her voice louder than intended.

She heard what she had said but perhaps, she just couldn't wrap her head around it to bring herself to accept the fact that the lady in front of her had a past relationship with her fiancé.

Hilary raised a brow, her composure relaxed as she replied, “I'm Hilary Mercer. Ethan's ex-girlfriend. Or let's just say, Ethan's friend.”
