Angelica’s POV

Joffrey paused outside the front door, as he waited for me to catch up to him, but the smirk that was on his face just moments ago was gone, as a more serious one was now in its place. “Before you meet my grandmother, I should probably tell you that she is a bit different than a normal grandmother.”

“How so?” I asked him, wondering what could possibly be so different about her, that he thought he had to warn me, but then the front door opens, revealing a very beautiful young woman.

“Oh Joffrey, it’s been so long. I think you have grown since I last seen you.” She said to him, before pulling him into an embrace, as his eyes met with mine, and I wondered if this was another aunt of his.

When the woman pulled from the embrace, her attention turned to me, as a huge smile formed on her face, before she says to me, “You must be Joffrey’s mate. I am so happy to get to meet you.”

Angelica’s POV “I think that is enough for tonight.” Joffrey says, as he moves to stand from his seat, while his eyes look away from mine towards his grandmother, before he says, “It’s been a long day, and I think it is best that Angelica gets some rest.” “But I’m not tired, and I want to hear the rest of the story.” I said in protest to him, wanting to know how the story ended, especially if Selene and Ambrogio finally got their happy ending. “No, Joffrey is right. You both have had a long journey getting here. I think its best that we pick up in the morning where I left off.” Joffrey’s grandmother says, agreeing with him, as she moves to stand, picking up the tray of tea, before beginning to head back towards the kitchen. Joffrey at that moment moves towards the front door, grabbing our backpacks, and when he begins to walk back towards me, his grandmother reappears and says, “You can have your mother’s room. Angelica’s POV As my screams projected from my lips, I awakened from the vision, realizing that I was still beneath the surface of my bath water, as I began to gasp for air, while tears began to pour from the corners of my eyes. The bathroom door at that moment flew open, and Joffrey rushed to my side, kneeling beside the tub, as I wrapped my arms around his neck, holding on tightly to him as if he was my lifeline. “Angelica, what’s wrong?” Joffrey asked me with concern in his voice, as I sobbed in his arms, just wanting to get the last image out of my head, but I knew his face would haunt me in my dreams until I stopped him. Closing my eyes, the image of his face was there just as I had feared, sending a shiver throughout the entirety of my being, as I gripped onto Joffrey tighter, while I found myself unable to speak. Joffrey at that moment lifted my naked body from the tub, but I didn’t care that I was naked, as long as I was in the p

Joffrey’s POV As soon as my claim to Angelica left my lips, she stiffened beneath me, and I quickly shifted my weight from on top of her, realizing I had misread the signs I thought she was giving me, especially when I could see the fear now present in her eyes. I had clearly pushed her too fast, and had taken advantage of her in the state that I had found her in. “I’m sorry.” I said, as I scurried off the bed, ashamed of myself, when I knew damn straight, she didn’t know, but in a way, I was hoping that she chose me for me, and not because of a bond that bonded us together. Angelica quickly moved to pull the covers over her naked body, as she sat up in bed, looking as if she was shaking in fear, while tears began to seep once again from the corners of her eyes, making me wonder if I had traumatized her. I was at a loss for what to do in the state she was in, as I knew that I couldn’t comfort her like I wanted to, in fear of making the s

Angelica’s POV “Mmm…” Hummed from my lips, as I snuggled closer into the warmth, while protective arms wrap around me, pulling me in even tighter. My body had never felt so at rest, as it did right now, and the sound of a steady beating heart acted as a melody in my ear, soothing my restless soul. I knew whose arms I was in, and I knew whose heart I was listening to, but by the sounds of it, he was still fast asleep, and I wanted to marvel in the way he was making me feel before I ultimately pulled away. Last night things between us almost broke the boundaries of our friendship, and it probably would have if it hadn’t been for what he had whispered to me. It made me wonder if it was a sign from the heavens above that we shouldn’t cross that line, but if I was being honest with myself, I wanted it just as badly as he did. As the morning sun began to peek through the slit in the curtains, Joffrey began to stir, and I quickly went to pull f

Angelica’s POV I wanted to run after him, and explain everything to him, but Joffrey’s grandmother wrapped her arm around mine, steering me towards the kitchen, as she says to me, “He will be back soon, child. He just needs time to compute what he just learned. It’s a lot for one to find out about their mate, especially when its not the mate that revealed it.” I was just about to protest to her, but she once again stops me by saying, “I understand why you kept it from him, as it must be hard not knowing who in this world you can trust, but my Joffrey is a good boy, and he would never bring harm to you. You must already know that though.” She was right, I knew Joffrey would never intentionally hurt me. If anything, he had risked his life to protect me, and there were so many times that I wished that I could have told him my secret, but I refrained myself from doing so. Now that the cat was out of the bag, there were no more secrets on my

Angelica’s POV “You heard me right child.” Joffrey’s grandmother said, just before the tea kettle began to whistle, making her stop her story as she moves to the stove to turn it off, while I sat there processing it all. If Selene was truly the daughter of Zeus, then that would make her related to me, and if she was Joffrey’s greatest grandmother, then the two of us would be related. “Oh, my Goddess, I almost slept with my greatest of cousins.” I thought to myself, as my stomach once again began to turn, and I placed what was left of the strip of bacon back onto my plate, while Joffrey’s grandmother moved back to my side, handing me a cup of tea.“Now where was I...” She said, as she took her seat next to me, before she says, “Ah, Selene, that’s right. When Selene got to the bad part of the city, it didn’t take long for the witches and the warlocks to sense her demigod blood flowing through her veins, and before she knew it, she was surrounded by them.

Angelica’s POV “I need to find Joffrey.” I said to his grandmother, as I stood from my seat, knowing that I had to make things right with him, especially knowing now that we weren’t related but that it was my family who had brought so much pain to his greatest grandfather.I didn’t want him to have to go through what his grandfather had, loving a woman he could never be with. There was no doubt now in my mind why the two of us were brought together, and these feelings that I was having towards him were wrong for me to keep locked away from him.“But Angelica, I haven’t finished the story.” Joffrey’s grandmother called out to me, as I raced towards the front door, and even though I wanted to hear more of her story, my need to make things right with Joffrey right now was more important to me.“I’m sorry, but we will have to finish the story later.” I apologized to her, as I raced outside the house, praying that I could find him.Stepping off the porch, a gust of wind shi

Angelica’s POV My wolf was doing her best to keep up with the creature, but as the mountain stood now in front of us, we both knew that eventually we were going to have to cross back over the river if we wanted to stop the creature before it got to Joffrey. I began to rack my brain at that moment, trying to figure out a way to stop the beast, as it was clear that my Goddess power had no negative effect on it, making me now believe that the creature was sent by the Gods, but why. The only thing that I knew about the creature was that it didn’t like water, as I was sure that the flame that fueled it would die, ultimately killing the beast itself. Unfortunately, I didn’t know the land here, to know where I could lead it away from Joffrey to a major source of water. As the river steered to the right, and the creature began to ascend the mountain that I was sure was towards Joffrey, my wolf let out another warning howl to Joffrey, before she

Angelica’s POV My Uncle Bishop and my father began to move around the ballroom trying each of the doors for themselves, but none of them would open, making me wonder if it was my turn again in this game the heir was playing with us. How many trials of fear was the heir going to make us face, and was this game he was playing with us ever going to end? Fear began to sink into me, that this was our hell, and that we were going to be trapped in it for the rest of eternity, as I stood in the middle of the ballroom floor, deciding on which door to pick. Letting go of Joffrey’s hand, I moved to the back of the ballroom to the door that led outside, hoping that it was the door that would lead us out of this hell of a game. But as I took a deep breath, and placed my hand on the handle, I realized quickly that the handle wasn’t moving, making me wonder what game the heir was playing with us now. I wanted to scream out in frustration, but I held it

  • Sunstone - Tainted by Enemy's Blood   Chapter 92

Angelica’s POV I knew by the look on Joffrey’s face that he was scared to see what lay on the other side of the door, but we had no other choice, as the debris continued to fall through the hole, pushing us to face it. This time my father grabbed a hold of my arm, pulling me in front of him, as Joffrey finally opened the door and stepped inside. Stepping through the door to join Joffrey, I wondered what his worst fear could have been, but as my eyes focused on the room around me, I was stunned to see where I was standing. Joffrey stood in silence with his head down in the middle of the ballroom at my parents’ house, as if he was ashamed to look at anyone, making me wonder why or how the night of my ball could have been his biggest fear. It was definitely one of my own, because it was the night that the heir had first violated me by siphoning my powers, but I didn’t understand how it was his. “Well, isn’t this interesting.” My father says

  • Sunstone - Tainted by Enemy's Blood   Chapter 91

Angelica’s POV As my father opened the front door, a white light beamed into the cabin, before my father stepped into the light, without a second of hesitation, knowing with what I had just said, that the door would lead him to my mother. But as we stepped through the door, unfortunately my mother was nowhere in sight, and we stood in what looked like a basement, with a huge hole in the floor above our heads. A growl instantly radiated from my father, and my Uncle Bishop quickly moved to his side to comfort him, knowing that my father failed to take us to my mother, even though I know he tried. It was clear his darkest fear still lay there the night he thought he had lost my mother to Tyler, and that was where the heir had taken us with the little game he was playing. “There is still hope. We are now inside the house. Maybe the heir is somewhere inside the house with them.” My Uncle Bishop tells my father with hope, but I knew that was a

Angelica’s POV “What the bloody hell?” Joffrey asks, as he quickly moves to my side, while my father says, “This is impossible.” As he races towards the window, peering outside. “I don’t understand. How are we in my cabin?” My Uncle Bishop asks, while he begins to look around, moving from room to room, as if he was looking for something. Moving away from the window, my father begins to shake his head, and I can see the dread in his eyes, thinking that we were hundreds of miles away from my mother, but in reality, I knew we weren’t, or at least I prayed we weren’t. A loud click came from behind us, making us all turn to see my Uncle Bishop coming out of his bedroom with a shotgun in his hand, while he says, “This mother fucker wants to play games, then games are what we will play.” Just as those words came from his lips, there was a knock on the front door, making us all turn to now look at it, as a voice e

Angelica’s POV The brighter light that we had seen at the end of the tunnel we were in only proved itself to be a mouth that opened to three new tunnels and a choice that needed to be made. My father and my Uncle Bishop stood before the three tunnels arguing with each other on which tunnel they should take, knowing that time was precious, and my mother was somewhere here on the grounds, or even beneath the ground like we were. Stepping away from Joffrey, I moved in front of the first tunnel, closing my eyes, as I opened my senses, trying to sense the heir’s powers, as I focused down that particular tunnel, but felt nothing. Slowly, I moved to the next tunnel doing the same thing as they continued to contemplate which tunnel to take, but I still felt nothing, making me think that I was stupid to think that I could figure this out for them. I was about to give up, as my father was insisting on taking the first tunnel, when I felt a slight

  • Sunstone - Tainted by Enemy's Blood   Chapter 88

Angelica’s POV Stepping through the front door, it didn’t take me long to realize that we had just stepped through a portal, and we were no longer above the earth’s surface, but in what looked like a caving system, deep beneath the ground. “What the hell?” Joffrey said, as he held my hand tightly in his, pulling me back towards him, while the two of us took in our dimly lit new surroundings. Just up ahead of us, I faintly could make out the silhouettes of my father and my Uncle Bishop, as the two of them move towards a more predominant light at the end of the tunnel we were now standing in. Taking a deep breath, I began to slightly cough, as the air seemed stale to me, like it had no ventilation to the fresh air on the earth’s surface, making me wonder how deep beneath the surface we were. Knowing that we needed to keep up with my father and my uncle, I went to take a step forward but found myself reaching for the wall of

  • Sunstone - Tainted by Enemy's Blood   Chapter 87

Angelica’s POV “Let’s keep going.” My father said turning as he began to walk towards the front gates, with my Uncle Bishop by his side, as Joffrey stood there waiting for me along with Ambrogio. I knew I couldn’t keep this revelation to myself, as I was now sure that the telus the heir had still was working at full capacity. If I let all of them walk in there without this knowledge, I was possibly leading them all to their deaths, and I couldn’t do that. “Wait!” I called out, stopping my father and my uncle from taking another step, as they both turned and looked in my direction. Now that everyone was staring at me, I had to find a way to tell them that the telus was still working, without telling them everything that I now knew, which was going to be hard to do. “Something isn’t right.” I finally said, making Joffrey move closer to my side, as if he was trying to protect me from what I was about to say.

  • Sunstone - Tainted by Enemy's Blood   Chapter 86

Angelica’s POV Unfortunately, the bliss from our union only lasted its duration, as reality came rushing back this time like a freight train, while I realized we no longer had the upper hand on the heir. We were now heading to his territory, and on his terms, and he had hostages, making me pray that I had the strength to overcome what was needed from me. My mind was on overdrive trying to piece everything that had happened together, knowing that it all had to have a symbolic meaning to his plan, but what I couldn’t understand was the whole Talon and reversal of the spell of the telus. I mean the reversal spell had to have worked, I had felt my own powers returned to me that he had taken from me, but it didn’t make sense to me. Now that we knew that his plan was to resurrect his father, I would have thought that he needed as much power as he possibly could to perform whatever spell he was planning to use. By him giving up the power of the

Angelica’s POV “I would travel to the ends of the world as long as it was with you.” I finally admitted to Joffrey, as I secretly prayed that we got the chance to do this, because I knew this was his dream, and the fact that he wanted me to be a part of it made it even more special. “That was the answer I was hoping for.” He whispers to me before his lips crash against my own, sending sparks of electricity throughout my entire body. It was crazy how my body reacted to his touch, another part of my greatest grandmother’s blessing I assumed to her creations, to never fall out of love with each other, making me wonder if her own love still ran this deep for Ambrogio after all these moons. Something though told me it did, or why else would she continue to bless her creations with a mate to love them unconditionally. Joffrey slowly pulled from the kiss, as he stared into my eyes, and says to me, “Something is plaguing your tho
