Chapter 8

This "noblewoman" stance of Xena made her firmly believe that Alex Cohen was not worthy of her daughter.

The reason why she gave Alex and Isla 3 months, aside from not wanting to completely clash with Isla, was that she thought Alex was not short and looked quite pleasant. He also graduated from a famous university, so his genes should not be that bad.

However, at noon when she heard from Isla that Alex had health problems and was not even qualified to be a "breeder", what was the point of keeping him?

After Xena Sanders settled down, she looked at Alex coldly and got straight to the point.

"When do you plan to divorce Lala?"

Alex casually responded, "Shouldn't you discuss this matter with Lala first?"

"I'm her mother and can make all the decisions for her! Alex Cohen, I'm not discussing this with you, but I'm giving you an ultimatum! If you know what's good for you, you should divorce Lala. If you're not sensible, I'll just have to go through the legal process. By then, you’ll not only get kicked out of my house, but you’ll also have to pay Lala compensation for the loss of her youth!"

"Then go ahead and sue me. As soon as I get the summons, I'll be on time in court. However, I suggest you find a lawyer to understand the relevant laws and regulations first. After all...the court is not run by you."

Xena did not expect that Alex had become so brazen that he did not even feel threatened.

Slap!

Xena, who was ridiculed, hesitated for a few seconds then suddenly slapped her hand on the coffee table.

"Alex Cohen, you're a piece of trash who can't see the big picture. How dare you talk back to me? Are you rebelling? It's true that you haven't committed any crimes, but just based on your lack of fertility, I can just kick you out of the house. Do you believe that?"

"Who said that? I'm in good health!"

"Oh?"

Xena turned her head and stared at Isla.

"I thought you said there was something wrong with him physically?"

Isla was caught off guard by the question, but fortunately, she was quick-witted and thought of her response in seconds.

"Mom, originally, he did have a bit of a problem. We were married for less than a month before he found out. He's been on medication for 2 months and was just cured. If you don't believe me, you can take him to the hospital for a checkup."

"Seriously?"

Xena looked at them suspiciously. She glanced back and forth between Alex and Isla.

Alex did not explain and lazily got up.

"You guys talk. I'm going to bed first."

Isla was generally satisfied with Alex's performance and was slightly relieved. However, when she saw Alex head towards the guest room, she got nervous and rushed over to tug on Alex's arm.

"I made the bed for my parents this afternoon, you don't need to worry about it!"

Alex pushed the door open and found the guest room had been tidied up. The bedspreads were all new and all his personal belongings were gone. Only then did he realize that Isla could do housework! He also figured out why Isla stopped him, so he did not say much and stepped into Isla's bedroom.

Isla returned to her original position and sat down. Once again, she made it clear to her mother that she was "absolutely not going to divorce Alex". She also promised to try and conceive a child as soon as possible. This time she took note of her past mistake and did not specify a deadline so that she could delay the matter.

Xena pondered for a long time and realized that there was no way to break the stalemate with Isla, so she had to think of another way and left in a huff.

Victor Sullivan did not say a word throughout and only heaved a long sigh of relief before they left.
