Chapter 4! Arson!

last update Last Updated: 2022-03-08 18:48:04

Spotting the figure in the familiar outfit, Lolita gave an ear-piercing scream, filled with nothing but pain and regret. "Aaaahhhhhhhhh!"

Onlookers couldn't help feeling sorry for Lolita.

Since little Lolly was born, it has been her grandmother from day one. Her mother, Monica Clint, disappeared from the hospital on the day she gave birth to Lolita.

She was named Lolita because it has always been the name that Monica longed to give her daughter if she ever had one.

Before her reappearance in the town of Smallville, Monica Clint, a celebrated archaeologist in the whole of Green Crest, left on another one of her expeditions.

She later returned, heavily pregnant, after a year.

The town folks had never seen a father figure in the life of Lolita Clint, for the past sixteen years.

Even her mother was never found again after she delivered her.

The police closed her case after seven years of searching, as it had crossed the threshold for the case of a living person. Monica Clint was then pronounced dead, by the police, even though there was no dead body to ascertain such claims.

So tonight, in that fire, Lolita Clint lost her mother, her father, and her siblings. She virtually lost the only person she could ever call, family.

Everyone present could relate to how she felt. They all thought they understood her pain at the moment, but they were all so wrong.

Lolita is mourning for her grandmother, yes! However, her pain stems from the fact that she killed her grandmother with her own two hands.

She saved Gavin from the clutches of death, but what did he do? He sent his subordinates to silence her grandmother and herself.

Lolita couldn't understand! Is it so bad to save someone? Is it so hard for someone

to show gratitude? Why would he offer her death, in exchange for the life she gave him?

Thinking that she had killed her grandmother because she shouldn't have invited trouble into her house, she was devastated and broken beyond description.

Maybe her grandmother could have been with her at the moment.

"I'm sorry grandma!... It's all...my fault! grandma...I'm really! really! sorry!"

[ Sobs! ] [Sobs! ] [Sobs! ]

Lolita kept mumbling what no one could hear, nor could they understand, even if they heard her.

When the fire truck finally arrived, Lolita looked on absentmindedly as they tried their best to douse the flames.

The cause of the fire would later be announced as arson, just as Lolita already knows.

Unknown to her, there was indeed arson, but the person she is currently pointing fingers at is also facing his own problems at the moment, and actually has no time to even think of hurting his benefactor.

When personnel of the fire department attempted to question the disoriented Lolita, she stared at the person for a long while before blurting out, "arson"

When she trailed her sight again, Lolita wasn't able to spot the shadow behind the tree anymore.

She smiled in self-deprecation and said under her breath "Oh! Gavin! Just pray our paths never cross again...else...I'll personally kill you myself."

As the firefighters continued their work, more and more neighbors got attracted by the noise and came around to check out the situation. At this moment, no one even considered the bear attack anymore. All they could think about was what might have caused the fire that engulfed the Clint residence.

Where is grandma? Where is Lolita?

Those two questions were on the tongues of everyone who came around the scene.

Lolita was finally released by Xavier when she finally stopped struggling, and Xavier was sure she wouldn't attempt rushing into the burning house anymore.

There were no words to describe the mood at the moment, as everyone was shocked and speechless at the sight before them.

Granny Clint informed all those who were close to her about her travel plans to Greenville the following day. It is officially a few hours to the departure of the grandmother and granddaughter, but the situation has changed for the worse, as Granny Clint is nowhere to be seen at the moment.

Perhaps, it is more convenient to say that, she has kicked the bucket through the worst possible means.

Xavier kept answering questions on behalf of Lolita, who remained silent all along. No one was allowed to get close to Lolita, as she was definitely not in the right frame of mind.

Police officers at the scene could only question the neighbors in an attempt to get a possible lead at the scene.

What the onlookers do not know is that the perpetrators are not ones they could spot, even if they were around them. They are very elusive creatures who are seen if they allow and are also not seen if they do not wish to.

As evidenced by the fire before them, the perpetrators came in, bathed the whole room in chemicals only known to them, set the place on fire, and left, without as much as a single soul spotting them.

If Alpha Gavin or even Alpha Orsin had spotted any o the arsonists, they would have been able to recognize them as members of a rogue wolf Pack that the Dark-Dawn and Blue Fiend Packs had destroyed and annexed, many years ago.

This could also explain how come Gavin got tricked into Smallville and subsequently, the Hardwood forest.

The Alphas, Gavin, and Orsin were key players when their fathers launched the crusade against the rogues. The two packs did their best to end the activities of the rogue packs by absorbing them into their packs, but wouldn't be so deceitful to themselves by thinking they captured every single rogue there was.

Alpha Gavin would never believe what happened could be plotted by the rogues, neither would he have imagined what was about to happen, not even in his wildest dreams.

The firefighters clearly did their part and Lolita, as well as all others present, were witnesses to the fact that everything from the Clint household had been burnt to ashes.

There was not even a body to bury, even though Grandma Clint was undoubtedly indoors when the fire engulfed the building.

"Your what?" Lolita screamed in alarm. "He is my brother, Lolita," Kurah responded. Then she watched her friend's expression change from shock to anger, and to many more emotions hidden in her eyes that Kurah didn't dare to probe. She continued in a small voice, "I always spoke to you about him, right? Now you remember him, don't you? Lolita, please help me. Please!" "What the f**k? Alpha Gavin is your brother? He is Kuralis?" Lolita blurted out in anger. She couldn't help asking animatedly, "Is this a joke? Kurah, is this a joke? If it might interest you to know that your dear brother ordered the murder of my grandmother. You can ask his two sidekicks for the details."Lolita was so angry that she wanted Kurah to know she would do nothing to save Gavin, not even if he was her brother. "I'll tell you this, there is nothing I'll do to save your brother. You already know how much I hate him.I gave him a gift once, now I take it back. Sorry, Kurah, but I can't help you." Kurah was to

"Such a sissy" Lolita blurted under her breath. She knew Gavin wasn't weak, but she still couldn't understand how a single shot from her could render the young man so powerless. Then again, she couldn't help thinking, "what just happened?" "How was I able to cast that spell just now? What's going on?" Lolita was confused about how she could cast such a high-class spell, and to top it all off, she did it without any mistakes. The issue is that she had never learned magic, and neither had she ever been in contact with anything magic. So the situation was still strange to her. "What the heck?" Venom blurted in wonder. Lolita could feel his fluctuations but chose to ignore the nuisance. She would deal with Venom later on. "Tsk! I thought he was a real man. Come along if you wish to" Lolita said to no one in particular. When she took her bag and was about to walk out of the place, she suddenly spotted Kurah being supported by a maid. She was walking slowly, a guard in tow. "Mtchew! You

When Lolita saw Gavin for the first time in months, she expected to see something about him that spoke of his guilt or even a dark heart to show he was capable of what he did to her grandmother. However, Lolita found no malice in his heart, no hidden evil, no darkness, not even an iota of guilt for a wrongful act committed. Yet, she couldn't allow her grandmother's killer to go scot-free, just because he had no malice in his heart. Lolita swore to make sure the guilty party pays, and that is exactly what she will do. "You must be enjoying what's going on huh?" Lolita declared as she released another poisoned arrow at Gavin, who dodged it as effortlessly as usual. She expected to see nothing less than a scratch, but even that didn't happen. Gavin still shifted effortlessly from where he was, and she couldn't be more pissed than she already was. She thought it was effortless, but only Gavin knew how focused he had to be, resulting in the use of much inner strength that he couldn't wa

  • Superimposed: The Misjudged Alpha   Stop Me If You Can!

A strong current could suddenly be felt by Gavin, who ducked to the side immediately. He was almost caught off-guard by the poisoned arrow that got embedded in a pillar behind him. Gavin took a brief look at the arrow and cursed under his breath, "fu*k! An intruder in here?" Beta Ortiz looked on in utter dismay, as he tried his best to pinpoint the location of the intruder. He also, just like Gavin, couldn't tell how an intruder could breach the gates and come as far as the Alpha's chamber without being caught. Gavin tried to locate the intruder, but a familiar scent wafted into his nostrils. He disregarded it and chastised himself for smelling something that was only in his mind. What a time to zone off, he thought. After a brief moment of being in deep thought, he felt another arrow aiming for his chest. He still ducked away and saw this arrow embedded in the brick wall just where he was standing. He couldn't imagine how someone could be so bold and skilled at the same time. Gav

  • Superimposed: The Misjudged Alpha   Damn The Consequences!

"Venom, why are you against burning down this city? Are you for real? What are you hiding from me? Talk to me, damn it." Lolita did everything possible to get venom to speak up, but there was no response from him. She could only step out frustrated. She knew that Venom knew something she didn't know, but the damn snake wouldn't speak up. She had the sudden urge to step on its head or even strangle it. "How could something so tiny have such a big ego?" Lolita said in a soft voice. Venom wasn't offended, but was rather taken aback. He quickly announced his presence by reminding Lolita, "I'm right here, you know?" Lolita rolled her eyes internally and retorted, "Do I care?" Venom then chose to remain quiet, as Lolita had already cut the mind link she had with him. He could forcefully invade her thoughts, but decided against it. Venom still maintained that Lolita needed to take things easy, as she had to be extremely sure that the people of Dark-Dawn Avenue are as terrible as she thou

"What are you doing here?" Lily asked Lolita aggressively. She was startled to see the little girl walking so freely in the dark kitchen as though she was a creature of the dark. Lolita ignored her, only for her to reiterate, "I'm talking to you, Lolita Clint!" She was angry because Lolita ignored and treated her like she was air. As if there was no one else in the kitchen but her, Lolita reached for her food and made a move to walk out of the kitchen. She was at a crossroads and had to return quickly to check on what the satellite images had to offer. She deftly maneuvered her way around the seething team member and walked back to her room. She kept her aloof expression all through her encounter with the student till she got to her room. As a result, Lily didn't suspect a thing. However, Lolita felt that she had just chanced on a strange occurrence. As she was deep in thought, the memories of the vampire princess came rushing into her mind, and she quickly made sense of the situat
