CHAPTER 45

~2 MONTHS LATER~

"Mom?" I answered Mom's video call. I haven't been home in Antipolo for two days because of my artists' hectic schedule. Finally, I found some free time.

"Your child has been crying; we can't console her. She kept kissing your picture on the cellphone since she woke up."

My eyes immediately welled up. I glanced at my wristwatch. One of my talents has a performance tonight.

"I'll try to drop by around noon, Mom."

"If only we could come to your workplace, we would have done that. Come here even for just an hour, Yongsann," I heard Dad say. "Your daughter misses you."

I felt a tightening in my chest. I looked up to hold back the tears threatening to escape.

"Yes, Dad. I'll drop by. Graxylla," I called to the crying baby. She paused for a moment, searching for the source of my voice. Dad then presented her to the screen.

"Ma...ma!" she exclaimed, suddenly giggling as if thrilled to see me.

I couldn't help but cry. "Hi, Baby. I'm sorry, Mommy hasn't come home yet, okay?" S
