Harper

I felt like an idiot for falling in love with Conrad. He was a two-timing snake and a cheater. I had fallen for his lies. He told me he had broken things off with his ex but I caught them kissing in his car when he was supposed to be waiting for me to give me a ride.

I heard the main door opening and I quickly wiped my tears and sniffed quickly making my way to the stairs. James was home early today and if he saw me like this he would lose it. He would call Nigel and both of them would harass Conrad. I just know it.

“Harper,” he called out.

“Hi, James,” I cleared my throat looking ahead, “I’ll be in my room,” I added starting to move.

“Hey,” he walked and held my wrist, “I have a surprise for you.”
