Chapter 52: The Remnants

Blanche forced her eyes to opened and the first thing she saw was a white ceiling. 

"Could be because we got drenched in the rain, not because of what she saw," an ever-so-slightly supercilious voice explained. 

She concur it as the voice of Alas standing near her as she was lying on a bed, but she inhaled a manly scent instead of the usual alcohol mixed with the medicine smell of a hospital. She blinked a few times looked from left to right. 

"Oh, you're awake," he uttered in a monotone manner as if he knows she would wake in that time. 

He turned on the nightstand and filled a glass with water. "Here, have a drink." 

 Alas shoved tha glass on her face as if expecting her to accept it or accept it. 

Blanche glowered at him she sat up on the bed and held the glass. She realized she was not in a hospital, but in a room with a white ceiling and carpeted floor. "Where am I?"
