The next morning, a woman was snuck into the palace by Leon and some of his trusted guards. After searching futilely for days without any traces of her anywhere, Leon decided that finding another woman for a wife was better. He had sent his Beta to find a woman from another pack but Delilah had suggested that they go for an Omega instead. One who couldn't be easily identified by anyone. Her idea made sense and he agreed to it immediately and sent his Beta to search for a woman. While they were gone, Delilah prepared an elixir. It took her a few hours to make concoctions and prayers. An hour after she was done, the woman came in. They were at the temple and Leon stood to his feet as soon as he saw her. She was tall, slender and beautiful but she didn't have that mysterious look Lillith had. It had mesmerized him the first day he saw her but he reminded himself that he was never going to fall in love with any woman. "She's beautiful," Delilah said as she walke
At the dinner table, Lillith and Lucien kept exchanging glances. They were the only ones seated at the table and Lilith felt like she needed to know his family as she had seen none of them. "Uhm, you haven't really told me about your family?" She began with a smile. "I mean, I have not seen a sibling or parent or the sort," Lucien gently placed his fork on the table and wiped his mouth with the silk napkin by his side. He smiled at her. "Well, my family? Beer adventurous. As soon as I became Alpha, my parents decided to travel the world on their big boat," Lillith laughed. "Really adventurous. Isn't that dangerous? I mean, going out at sea and sailing for long periods," Lucien chuckled and forked a chunk of grilled meat into his mouth. "Well, it is dangerous and those two love a bit of danger and chaos. So you're right. But I am sure they'd survive. They have their ways," Lillith nodded. "Quite an interesting bunch, I guess?" "Of course. As for my only bro
Leon was having dinner with Delilah when they heard commotion outside. Leon turned to Delilah who smiled and threw a chunk of red meat into her mouth. "It is done." The relief that washed over Leon as he stood to his feet was beautiful. He laughed. "Thank you, mother." Her eyes watered. This was the first time Leon had addressed her as mother since his teen years. She had wished for that little boy who sought her protection at all times to return. After she had brought him here as the Heir to the throne of Red Lily Pack and after he had discovered his real parents, he had stopped addressing her as mother. Instead, he stuck with her name. Delilah. She was so happy. She nearly pushed herself out of her seat to hug him but he was gone out of his room. Sighing, she smiled and followed after him. The palace grounds were crowded with people. They had all come to see the missing Luna who had been found. As soon as the guards saw Leon, they all turned
"The cabinet members are calling for a meeting at the court," The guards who had knocked on the door said. Leon was about to leave but Delilah pulled him back. She stared into his eyes. "It is now time for you to start dominating. Lillith is back and they will not just tell you to attend shy meetings without you making it possible because that is an insult," Leon smiled and nodded before turning to the guard. "Tell them that no meeting will be held without you approving it." "Oh, go there yourself and let them hear directly from you?" Delilah wiggled her brows. "They'd be shocked but once they see that you are walking out, they would have no option. That is how you slowly build up dominance." Leon nodded and turned to Petra who stood at the side, looking quite confused. He sighed and walked towards her. Taking her hands in his, he smiled. "I am really sorry if I did anything to upset you, okay? I promise to be a better person for you." He said it loud enough f
Lucien's Beta, Reinhardt, came visiting. He had been away for a few weeks to be with his family and now that he was back, he had come to see his friends as he had heard the news of the woman he had rescued. "It's good to have you back, Reinhardt," Lucien said and patted his shoulders. They were in his study. Both men took their seats on the couch instead. "Of course," Reinhardt smiled. He was a very handsome man with fair hair and the bluest of eyes, one of the most eligible bachelors before he found his mate who was now pregnant. "Are you going to wait for me to ask or just spill the news to me?" Lucien leaned back against his seat with a small smile on his face. "You heard it, didn't you?" "Well, news spreads faster than a wildfire around here. Everyone is talking about it," "Well, my men found her in the woods. Apparently, she was caught in the trap we set for the rogues. They would have killed her if I hadn't intervened." Reinhardt leaned forward. "No
Leon, after the courtroom conversation with his Beta, retired to his room. He wanted to rest a bit while the party was being organized by the team he had put together. He pushed his door open and was shocked to see Petra seated on the bed. Frowning, he shut the door behind him and made sure to lock it in case anyone came in. "What are you doing here? Haven't you been assigned to your room?" He asked as he walked towards where she sat. She stood to her feet and fiddled with her fingers. He wondered what she was up to in his room. "Delilah asked me to come here," "Why?" She shrugged. "She said you had some explaining to do for me. I also heard there'd be a party to welcome me tonight. Why don't you give me a run down of how all this is going to go? I don't want to go out there and make a slip, you know. I know you wouldn't like that." Leon could sense her attraction to him from where she stood and he knew the reason she was here was to form some sort of bond
"She's not your mate, Lucien," Reinhardt said to him the next day. Lucien was seated behind his desk. He looked deep in thought. "You are not totally wrong, Reinhardt. But do you think I care if she is or not?" "I understand how you feel but that's not how it works. We are not to go against the Moon goddess' choice for us. She knows what is best for us, Lucien," "I know what is best for me," Lucien said and gave him a hard look. "You don't understand how I feel," "I do," Reinhardt replied. "When I met Geneva. I felt like I couldn't do without her. She's my world," "That's the same way I feel about Lillith. Can't you understand that?!" "She's not your mate! That's the difference! Geneva is my mate. Do you think it's going to be easy on you if you get married to her? You might love her all you want but that is never enough!" "You don't know what you are talking about, brother. I care for her and her baby—" Reinhardt stopped. He was filled with shock.
"I remembered making a promise never to fall in love with any woman," Lucien laughed. "I was so young then. My best friend influenced me into believing that we weren't going to love any woman as they are all terrible species," "Your best friend must have been hurt terribly by someone in the past for him to say that, right?" Lucien shrugged. "I never got to ask him why. All I knew was that he hated women to the core. Treated them like thrash even. At that point, I believed he was just carrying out his revenge. I have never been harsh to a woman the way he has been," "Someone did hurt him terribly," "Probably," He replied. "But with you, I came to the light. I swear, I also made that promise never to love any woman. But then I saw you that morning. In that tattered dress. You looked so dirty but I saw the beauty. I saw the light you brought in with you and I met myself getting infected by it and to be honest with you, I do not regret a bit of it. I am happy I let mys
