“Where the fuck are they?! We had planned for them to leave that palace hours ago!” Markus cursed as he and man named Paul drove down the dirt road, he and Peter had found for Erin’s escape plan.

“If they were here, we would’ve passed them by now.” Paul remarked looking out the mirrors in case the pair had broken down somewhere and needed help, but the road only led to the palace, not many people know of its location, so the road was almost always deserted.

“I swear if that asshole has touched Erin!” Markus grunted gripping the steering wheel so hard, Paul and everyone back in the village understanding the way Markus feels towards Erin, so all knew not to mess with her in the slightest.

Even though Markus was never an individual to show emotion, he couldn’t deny that he saw Erin as the closest thing he’d ever get to a daughter again. The night he found her laying on the floor, her hands bleeding and the look in her eyes he knew very well and hated that such a young child felt, h

  • Surviving The Big Bad Alpha King   Chapter Eighty-Six: Moral Compass

The group continued its silent walk back through the trees and over to where the cars were waiting, I didn’t know what was going around their heads with all they’d seen but for me, I was more lost than I was back when this all started. I know how I feel about Baron, everything I’ve told him since I knew about this mateship and how safe I feel around him is true, but what about Daniel? Can I simply turn my emotions off, shouldn’t I be over the moon to see that he’s really alive, does that make me a horrible person because I don’t? As these questions surrounding my moral compass swirled around my head faster than a fairground ride, we push through the trees and over to where the cars were parked, the last time I saw these, I was blissfully unaware of who was waiting for me within the woods. Baron, whose hands hadn’t left my waist and arm the entire trip pulls me to stand right beside him, the look on his face was clear anger and annoyance for the way Daniel held me and especially, t

  • Surviving The Big Bad Alpha King   Chapter Eighty-Five: Mine First

It was as though my entire body went numb in that moment, the atmosphere of the village seemed to fade into the black as my eyes locked on the one set of eyes I accepted I’d never get to see again. The face I had held in my hands so many times and thought I would for a lifetime was somewhat a mystery to me, my lip beginning to quiver as my mind attempted to accept what was happening. As painful as it was at the time, my mind had digested the fact that Daniel was gone and was able to move on but now he stood before me, it was as though I was in some kind of dream. Markus sensing my body felt numb, reached over and took the keepsake box from my hands before it slipped and smashed into pieces as it hit the floor below us. While Daniel, who I was fully convinced was a ghost at this point, began to take his steps down the stairs of his house and towards me. “Erin, baby.” Daniel’s voice slipped from his mouth and hit my ears, but his voice is what finally, seemed to snap my body out of

The silence of the forest seemed to engulf us the closer we walked to the village, my heart pounding in my chest with each step I would take. I hadn’t been back in this neck of the woods since the battle, so much has changed since than and as much as I like to think it hasn’t changed me, it has in ways I would never comprehend. I thought I knew which side of the fence I stood on when it came to the war between the humans and the werewolves, but now I’ve met Baron and somewhat accepted our mateship, I’m sat so firmly on that fence my butt is starting to hurt. I worry as soon as I see each person and building, I used to call mine, I’ll be stuck on that fence forever! Due to the chains which still hung from my hands and the terrain leading to the village even worse than what we walked through to get here, I was forced to hold onto Baron’s arm as he led me over each rock and hill. But through the thick trees I spot my first real glimpse of my home, the bigger building in the middle of

Within the hour, Stuart had left the palace and arrived at the village with the documents surrounding Alpha Harvey in hand ready to give to Markus. I thought making that call to give up the information on an Alpha would be easy to make but the moment I looked at Lizzie and how she broke down, I began to ask myself what I’d do if I’d had the decision to save my father. I would have jumped at the chance without a second thought, so did I have the right to put Lizzie through the pain I knew all too well? But it was Baron who reminded me what was at stake and why we had even come to the village, we needed to get this box for Alpha Robin so the agreement which was planning to help even more Alpha’s get on their feet could pass. Perhaps this Alpha may have to suffer but it’s going to help so many more, we may even be able to offer Alpha Harvey some protection and help from the invasion. But right now, the task was clear, Markus was essentially, scratching our backs, we had to return the f

After hearing what Markus wanted in return for the box, I was left in another crossroads, what he was asking would go against the role I was about to take but if we get this deal fully executed, this will only help their kind even more. Thankfully, it was not down to me to make this decision but Baron. Leaving Markus to speak into his walkie and let the others down in the village know what’s happening, I make my way back over to an angry looking Baron, who seemed to scan my body as though he was looking for any reasons to attack Markus. “So?” Glasses asked as I reached the border and stepped outside of it, the heavy feeling I couldn’t shake from my shoulders seemed to lift and allowed me to take a breath, while Baron placed his two fingers in the belt loops of my jeans and pulled me closer to him to smell my scent. “I managed to talk it through with M and he agrees that risking an Alpha coming to attack the village wouldn’t be in the best interests of the people. He will allow u

As soon as I spoke the name of the story Markus knew very well, I saw many emotions begin to flash through his eyes as he watched my expression, I knew he was trying to see any kind of deception in my looks, which is why I maintained eye contact. I needed him to see I was speaking the truth, even if it was beyond a lie. “The story I used to tell you when you were younger?” Markus asked looking at me with an intrigued look, where I had to nod my head happy that after all this time, he still remembered the little things. “After my entire family died and you took me in, nights were always hard but when storms hit, it was the worst. One night in particular, you came into my room, and I was in floods of tears, you sat right beside me and pulled the blankets right up and began to tell me a story to help the noises of the storm pass. You described a strong and brave princess who had to flee from her family in order to protect them, she was scared but she knew if she kept true to herself,
