Once the young woman in front of him was seated again, Lawyer Noah politely smiled.

The lawyer then opened the thick folder of documents in front of him as he explained, "Ms. Indira, we have much to discuss."

Indira glanced at the stack of papers and said, "Is that a prenuptial agreement he's referring to?"

"Prenuptial agreement is a term that is very common to others, but this contract covers not only assets, but also confidentiality rules, reputation, rights, obligations after marriage, and so on. As Mr. Sangkala has said, it will not only contain our requests, it will also contain yours. I will be responsible for communication and negotiation on behalf of Mr. Sangkala."

"This is too thick," Indira muttered as she flipped through the stack of documents.

"Just relax because you can read the contents carefully and I will accompany you here. The contract is yours by right, but you cannot take it out of this place until you have signed it." Lawyer Noah drew a businesslike smile before continuing, "Of course, if you feel you don't have enough time to read everything, I can summarize all the important points for you."

Indira whispered, "Please just explain."

"The maximum duration of this marriage will not exceed two years and the person who has the right to decide when this marriage ends is Mr. Sangkala. You must keep this marriage a complete secret. Before and after the marriage, any secrets you discover about Mr. Sangkala and his family must be kept as secret as possible. During the marriage, you must fulfill your obligations as a wife. As Mr. Sangkala said earlier, you must remain humble, loyal and know your limits. By boundaries, we mean that you should obey Mr. Sangkala as much as possible by not interfering with his personal or business life. As for lifestyle, the housekeeper will explain everything to you later. In addition, you will still have to mediate the business dealings between Mr. Arya and Mr. Sangkala as the biggest purpose of this marriage is to channel the resources of both companies. The blood bond between you and Mr. Arya is the basis of Mr. Sangkala's trust in you. The premarital property and the property created during this marriage will have nothing to do with you."

After a few moments' pause to catch his breath, Lawyer Noah continued, "You may not conceive Mr. Sangkala's offspring without permission. However, after the marriage ends, Mr. Sangkala will provide you with additional compensation. As long as you abide by this agreement, you will have the freedom and respect you deserve along with benefits that are sure to be substantial."

Indira calmly gazed at Lawyer Noah as the man spoke so smoothly, Indira's logic was running fast, but her heart was defensively growing cold. Indira had thought that marriage was indeed a transaction, but Indira had never thought that her marriage would be like this. It was just that she had no better option than this.

Tired of hearing the ramblings of the man in front of her that didn't seem to be finishing anytime soon, Indira quickly cut in, "You don't need to explain anymore, I will agree to everything. I won't waste your time any longer, so let's sign everything now."

Lawyer Noah did not seem surprised at all when he replied, "Okay." He then handed Indira a pen and said, "You must put your signature and fingerprints on all the places that have stamps."

Indira nodded and immersed all her focus in the signing process. While thinking that, Indira thought that she was selling herself and silently resisted the urge to laugh.

After Indira was done, Lawyer Noah was patient and went through the document a few times before saying, "Thank you for your cooperation."

"You're welcome." Indira nodded and said, "In that case, I'll get back to work now."

"Ms. Indira, don't you have any requests?" Lawyer Noah lowered his tone of voice and in a gentle tone said, "Mr. Sangkala said that you can ask for a more decent life and make some reasonable demands."

"As long as I don't have any more debts, I have no other wishes. Thank you." Indira then left with a leisurely and unhurried pace afterwards.

The sun was shining brightly that afternoon but fortunately Indira's workplace was not too far away. As soon as she arrived inside her office, her gossipy assistant immediately approached her with bright eyes.

"How was it?" asked Indira's assistant, Lara.

Indira sat back in her chair and replied, "I don't want to tell you, but I can't because I signed a confidentiality agreement."

"Huh? That serious?" Lara snorted in dissatisfaction before pulling her chair closer to her superior's desk. Her round eyes grew even wider as she eagerly asked, "What about that guy?"

"He's handsome and apparently very rich," Indira replied calmly with a faint smile.

Indira had only one friend, her gossipy assistant. So, when she was feeling indecisive and confused earlier for fear of imagining the offer she had suddenly received earlier, Indira unknowingly told Lara about it. Indira also told the young girl that today she was meeting the man who was to become her future husband. Lara was therefore very excited.

Lara enthusiastically asked, "How handsome is he? Is he better looking than the Crown Prince of our company?"

Indira imagined the face of the man Lara was referring to for a few moments before grinning and proudly answering, "My future husband is a man who falls into the perfect category."

"You who always seem to be ignorant of all men even think he's the perfect man, so what kind of foolish woman would do such a foolish thing on the eve of her wedding?" Lara chuckled before dragging her chair back to her own desk.

Indira amusedly whispered, "The stupid woman called Rahayu."

After Lara no longer pursued her with any questions, Indira went back to being quiet and preoccupied with her own thoughts. Indira should have felt happy about the fact that she could marry someone as rich as Sangkala Rahendra who was the equivalent of God just putting a lottery ticket in her mouth, but she now felt strange because her bitter life experiences had always taught her that if the benevolence she received was too great, the disaster that followed would also be greater.
