Author's P O V.

THREE WEEKS EARLIER

The Curtez's family were known to rank number 2 among the Italian Mafia hierarchy. After the Delmando mafia family that ranked number one in not just Italy but also countless neighbouring countries and states.

Samuel Curtez was the second child of Gustavo Curtez and Amelia Curtez.

Gustavo was known by everyone in the Mafia organization to be a don on his own. Gustavo was cruel and ruthless and feared nothing or anyone. He was on top of his A game and didn't give a fuck about anyone, not even his family, not even Samuel.

Samuel's older brother, Pedro Curtez was the white horse of the family. He was the complete opposite of Samuel and easily the favorite of their parents. At least that's what Samuel thought.

Pedro was just like their mother, Amelia. He was peaceful and reserved. Pedro always had the big dream of changing the world, just the same way Samuel wanted to change the world. Only they chose different rou

Roselle's P O V. I stood next to my door window the entire day until dusk sets in. Camille has been around the entire day keeping me company. Samuel never showed up and it was just better that way. Some minutes ago, Camille had informed me about the shortage of food and that he would like to drive down the grocery store to buy some things. I thought quickly in that instant. I still haven't seen any guards since the last time I was here. The only person appearing to be in this house with me after doctor Eugene left was Camille alone. If I wanted to leave, this was the perfect time to do so and I had the best plan. Camille didn't sleep here. She merely just comes around to attend to me and leave. I expected that she probably has a car that she drives in and out in every day. "Um.... Please can you please make me some coffee?" I said last minute as that was the only thing I thought of in that moment. I wanted to stall for

Samuel's P. O. V. I puffed out the smoke from my cigarette and drank from the glass of alcohol in my other hand before staring into the dark night. I watched the city from the hotel balcony as I waited for Matteo to meet with me. We had a lot to finish. After taking Roselle back to the house, I had to leave immediately because I couldn't get rid of this guilt I was feeling. I felt like an idiot going off on her like that. She crossed a line when she slapped me but that didn't warrant me hitting her like that and even locking her in there for days. After putting her inside the bathroom, I couldn't stand myself so I left. I didn't know why I did that but I knew that I needed some time alone to cook myself after speaking with Matteo. I remember Matteo meeting me at a casino as I started drinking. "Hey hey slow down a bit, will ya?" Matteo had said as he grabbed a

I continued to wake and pass back into unconsciousness a few times. Sometimes the bright light hurt my eyes, sometimes I'm met with a pitch darkness. I found myself drifting away once in a while until I felt the stinging sensation in my throat. I woke up feeling dehydrated. My lips hurt from being so dry and my throat felt soar. I found myself still laid on the now wet floor of the bathroom. My hair was damp and smeared on my head and forehead. My body was soaked in water, my shirt and sweatpants dampen. I didn't know how I managed to get all this water on my body. The bright light burned my eyes so I squint my eyes as I strained them towards the door. Only when I tried to move closer to the door did I find that I didn't have any strength in me. I didn't know how long I've been in this bathroom but as I tried to remember how I ended up here, I felt the memory being too distant to me. After Samuel punched me in the face, he had tossed me in he

Roselle's P O V. I saw the anger that crossed Samuel's eyes as I landed a slap on his face. My heart made a bolting beat instantly . I hadn't intended to slap him but his words made me angry for some reason unknown to myself . Samuel grabs my hard with an urgent force as he rose to his feet angrily. This was my chance to escape from him. If I screamed right now these people would intervene and it would definitely lead to my escape from him. There was no doubt what he would do to me if he suceeds in taking me away from here. But something kept stopping me. I couldn't do it. Not like this. "Come on!" He said angrily as he pulled me roughly out of my chair and pushed me towards the exit door. I noticed a few people looked up at us as he roughly pushed me. They all looked concerned but neither of them said a word. Because it wasn't any of their business that's why. Samuel's grip around my wrist was hard and crushing but I couldn'

Rose's P. O. V. After having the not so interesting dinner with Samuel Curtez, I retired back to my room. As I remained there, all I could think about was what my father was up to right now. As the night dragged along, I found I couldn't sleep. Camille was already gone and the loneliness was starting to eat me whole. My hands itched for my cellphone. I felt angry that Samuel would take away my life like this. I wasn't always a sociable person; I don't often go out there and take pictures of myself with a bunch of friends and post them online. Even when I did do that it was once, during a camping week in Louisiana. I only have a few people that I could actually call my friends. And it ranged from the wannabe Alexa. She was a blond girl with brains and perfect body which earned her the position of a cheerleader and class rep. She was a pain in the arse and I couldn't call us friends, maybe we were frenemies. And then there was Monice

Rose's P. O. V. I woke up to the sound of tender voices coming from the hallway. I rose up and walked gently towards the door. The door is left open today because as soon as I stepped close to the glasses, they beeped and slid open automatically. I stopped for a while and put my head out, watching the hallway to see if the coast was clear. It was completely clear. There wasn't a soul standing by. 'you can take that stairs and hurry out, Rose, you'll be out of this place before you know it.' a voice in my head said but I knew I would be making a big mistake by doing what I was thinking of doing. I knew Samuel Curtez meant every single thing he said he would do to me if I tried to escape one more time. And I'm taking his words to heart. As much as I wanted to get out of here, I needed to do it perfectly and not get killed in the process. I stepped out completely into the hall as the voices I'm hearing earlier reach
