XIII. The Left-hand Man

"Please give me your hands, princess," Teofilo asked, extending his hand in front of me. Noticing my hesitation, he firmly grasped my hand and proceeded to wash it with the water from the leather container.

"We need to ensure that your hands are clean," he stated, gently massaging each hand, one after the other. After cleaning them with water, Teofilo took a clean shirt from his sling bag and used it to dry my hands.

"Done!" he proudly said.

I was too stunned to speak. Honestly, I didn't anticipate this man to be so gentle and kind towards me. He behaves as if he were my servant. He consistently surprises me with everything he does. I am more convinced that he is more than just a rebel.
