The first thing I felt when I woke up was pain, from every single part of my body.

Light poured into the room from the window without curtains on the wall, making the entire cell look like a well lit up photo booth.

I stood up, dragging my bare feet on the cold ground, stretching my sore back muscles.

It had been a while since I laid in anything that wasn't a luxurious king side mattress. And the difference was really telling on me.

“Good to see you up.”

The cop I turned myself in to, who I learned his name was Brody, said.

“Good morning” I answered, looking at the tray of food on the floor with a meal I couldn't quite name. It looked like oatmeal or mashed potatoes. I wasn't sure which, But I was definitely not eating whatever it was

“Morning.” He answered matter of factly, going back to flipping the magazine in his hand.

I looked around the small room, one more time. Taking note of the structure. Collin had come back to escort me here last night, so I could sleep.
