The moment Nicole left the house, I didn’t move immediately. I stayed where I was, leaning against the edge of the table, letting the faint imprint of her presence sink into the room.
I knew I shouldn't be feeling that way towards my younger brother's girlfriend but I couldn't help it, she kept entering my thoughts, I couldn't erase the scene that happened earlier in my room. The way she walked into my room like she belonged there, but then froze the moment she saw me… I can’t explain it. Something about the shock, the embarrassment, the redness of her cheek…it dug under my skin.
Liam appeared in the doorway, stretching lazily, loosening his tie. “Did you check the deliveries?” he asked, gesturing toward the pile of unopened envelopes.
“Mm,” I replied, scanning the stack without touching it. His question barely registered. My mind was elsewhere.
He shrugged and started arranging the deliveries and some documents.
“You’ll need to sign the contracts for the new accounts by tomorrow,” he said, glancing at me. “Do you want me to draft the summary for you?”
I nodded absentmindedly. My gaze drifted toward the hallway where Nicole had hurried out minutes ago. I could still imagine her face.
And yes, clearly it seems like I'm obsessed with her. But Liam didn’t notice.
“Also,” Liam continued, flipping a folder open and tapping it with his pen, “Mom called today, she won't be coming until next month. She wants us to attend to some investors that will be arriving tomorrow morning.”
I made a neutral sound, eyes still following the empty hallway.
He glanced at me, frowning slightly. “Are you even listening?”
I gave the faintest shrug. Yes. No. Somewhere in between.
Liam sighed and put down the pen. He leaned against the counter, hands in his pockets.
Then, casually, he asked, “Do you think it’d be okay… if Nicole stayed here for a while? Until she sorts things out?”
That got my attention, I froze for a fraction of seconds, letting the words settle. Nicole, stay here. She just spent some hours here and I'm unable to control myself, talk more for a while.
I thought about my reply. My face remained calm and neutral. “If it’s only temporary… yes.” Something in me refused to say no.
Liam’s shoulders relaxed. Relief softened his features in a way that made my chest tighten unexpectedly. He didn’t know what had happened.
I watched him walk away to make a call, which I was sure that it was Nicole he was calling.
“What are you doing to me Nicole?” I groaned silently as I dialed a contact on my phone.
“I'm on my way, book a room with a girl arranged on the bed.”
“Alright.” The person on the other end replied.
“I need to get you out of my head,” I told myself as I left the house.

Nicole's POV
Zara, my best friend, was already seated when I walked in, stirring sugar into her iced coffee like she wasn’t about to read my soul through my face in the next three seconds.
“Nicole,” she smiled. *So, how is prince charming?”
“Liam is doing great.” I said dryly.
“How was the meeting with your boyfriend's family?” she continued as she drank her coffee.
I forced a laugh and dropped into the chair opposite her. “It was embarrassing and his mom didn't come today.”
She leaned forward a little, studying me. “What happened?”
My fingers tightened around my bag. “Nothing serious.”
Zara smirked. “That didn’t sound convincing.”
I avoided her eyes and took a sip of water I didn’t need.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
“He brought me to his family home. And to my surprise his brother was back.”
Her eyes widened slightly. “You meet the hot, devastating handsome and bad boy Adrian?”
I nodded unconsciously.
“Wow,” she laughed softly. “Did you meet him properly this time?”
I hesitated. “A little,” I said.
Zara didn’t notice the storm in my head. She just rested her chin on her palm.
“So Adrian is around. I can bet he's already fucking the girls in town.”
I let out a forced smile. “Yeah, I guess.”
She leaned closer. “Then tell me what really happened? Or did you kiss him.”
I almost choked. “No,” I said too quickly.
She laughed. “You’re blushing.”
“I unknowingly entered his room the moment he came out of the bathroom and he was fucking naked.” I poured it out to her.
“OH MY GOD.” Zara screamed.
“Can you please bring your voice down?” I scolded her lightly, feeling ashamed by the unfamiliar gaze the people in the restaurant gave us.
“I'm sorry but Nicole, the hell, you outdid yourself.”
“It wasn't intentional.” I covered my face with my hands. “I feel disgusting.”
“You’re not.”
“I feel like I betrayed Liam without even touching him.”
“It was simply a mistake.”
“Then is it normal to be having nasty thoughts about Adrian, replaying the scene in my head. I just can't seem to erase it.”
“Woah, you need a therapist babe, because all I can say is that you are fucking obsessed with your boyfriend's brother. For now stay away from him.” Zara muttered surprised.
“I can't. Liam wants me to move in and he's staying with his brother, so it will be impossible to avoid Adrian.”
Zara sighed tiredly.
“I thought I buried that,” I whispered.
“You did,” she said. “Until he showed up again.”
“Does Liam know?”
I shook my head instantly. “No. No. I would never hurt him like that.” I dropped my gaze. “What if I’m not as over him as I thought I was?”
Her voice softened. “Then you remind yourself why you chose Liam.”
I closed my eyes. Because he’s safe, he’s kind and he loves me. He was there for me when I lost my parents, when I lost everything.
Zara squeezed my hand gently. “And for the record… next time you feel like wandering into strange men’s bedrooms, call me instead.”
A weak laugh escaped me. “You’d probably dare me to flirt.”
She smirked. “Only a little.”
I gave her a slight smile. Liam will be coming over to move my stuff, but still I couldn't fathom the idea of being in the same house with Adrian.
Third Person's POV The evening air was crisp, carrying the faint scent of blooming flowers from the nearby park. Streetlights flickered along the cobblestone path as Ethan and Zara walked side by side, the laughter and warmth from the dinner fading into a comfortable silence.Zara kicked a small pebble absentmindedly, her mind still buzzing from the events of the day. The glow of the streetlights reflected off her hair, making it look like molten gold, and Ethan couldn’t take his eyes off her. He’d been holding his feelings in for so long, always patient, always waiting for the right moment. And tonight… maybe tonight was it.Ethan cleared his throat, trying to keep his voice steady, though his heart pounded like a drum. “Zara… I… I wanted to tell you something,” he began, his hands stuffed deep into the pockets of his jacket.Zara glanced at him, her eyes curious, soft, and patient. “Yes?” she asked gently, slowing her pace to match his.He swallowed hard, the words catching in h
Nicole's POV Seven months… Seven whole months of carrying this little life inside me, and here I was, about to finally graduate. My stomach was undeniably big now, a constant reminder of the tiny person growing inside, and every little kick made me smile and squirm in my seat. I looked down at it and laughed quietly, feeling Adrian’s hand slide across my lap, resting just above the curve of my belly. His touch was gentle, protective, and warm, the kind of touch that reminded me, even after everything we’d been through, that love could be calm and safe too.Leo and Liam died, Marianna and Mr Hargreaves was arrested, Marianna committed suicide after two months of imprisonment. The James company faced backlash for being a fraudster. While Adrian slowly rebuilt his own company.“Nicole! You’re staring at that belly like it’s about to sprout wings and fly away!” Zara laughed from across the table, her bright energy filling the room. She waved a forkful of salad around, pretending to
Adrian’s POV.The moment Liam fell, the warehouse seemed to freeze.Marianna’s scream cut through the lingering gunfire like a blade. She ran to him, her heels clattering against the concrete, her hands shaking violently as she cradled his body. Blood gushed out faster than she could comprehend, soaking her hands, dripping down her arms.“Liam! No! My baby! My son!” she wailed, her voice ragged and hoarse. She pressed her face to his chest, desperate for a response, but his body lay limp, jerking faintly with the last remnants of life.“You shot your son.* Marianna cried out looking at Leo.Leo froze across the room, disbelief etched into every line of his face. “No… no, it’s not true,” he said, shaking his head violently. “It… it can’t be—”Frank’s cold voice cut through the tension like ice. “He’s your son, Leo,” he said, still in hiding.Leo’s face was drained of color. His manic grin faltered, his eyes widening as the truth hit him. He’d been deceived, and the revelation seemed
The moment Loeo got distracted by one of his guards, I immediately sent the signal. We heard gun shots from outside and before anyone could say anything, bullets cracked through the air, ricocheting off metal beams and crates and the sharp stench of gunpowder burned my nostrils. I lunged toward Nicole, ignoring the pain in my ribs from the accident.. Each step was agonizing, every heartbeat hammering in my ears, but I couldn’t let her stay there helpless and exposed. My hands shook as I fumbled with the ropes cutting across her wrists. She flinched as another bullet hit the floor near us, making the concrete crack and splinter.“Adrian! Be careful!” Nicole hissed, her voice tight with fear, Frank was already in motion, he was able to pick up a gun for one of the people that got shot. He corked the gun, moving like a predator to cover us. I saw him shoot, duck, shoot again, all the while keeping an eye on the corners of the warehouse. He had this way of moving, calculating, keeping
Adrian's POV “Here they come.” Leo screamed the moment we came.I stayed perfectly, eyes scanning every inch of the warehouse. Nicole was tied up, trembling slightly, but her defiance shone through her fear. My heart ached seeing her like this, but I had to remain calm. If I moved too soon, everything could explode—literally.Frank was next to me, eyes sharp, silently observing. Every twitch, every breath of Leo, Liam, and Marianna was noted. They had no idea we were analyzing, planning. That gave us an edge.Leo was pacing, voice sharp, commanding. “Frank… I want answers. You’ve been working with them all along? You, of all people?” His eyes were furious, wild, and I could feel the malice radiating from him.Frank’s voice was steady. “I don’t work for you. I never did. You killed my grandfather, Leo. You killed my mother indirectly. Do you know what that did to me? To my life? I will never forgive you.”Leo’s laugh was sharp, manic. “Your mother? She was collateral damage! You th
Third Person's POV Leo leaned against the cold brick wall of the warehouse, his eyes sharp, scanning everywhere. His men lingered nearby, silent and alert, but he waved one forward, signaling him away from the others. He needed this conversation private,.Liam and Marianna couldn’t hear a word.“Closer,” he hissed under his breath, and the man obeyed, stepping toward him, careful to stay unseen.“Listen carefully,” Leo said, his voice low and dangerous. “No one goes back alive. You hear me? No mistakes. No one escapes this. Not Liam, not Marianna, not anyone else who dares stand against me.”The man swallowed hard, nodding quickly. “Yes, boss. I understand. But… are we going to wait for them to make a move first?”Leo’s eyes narrowed, a shadow of fury crossing his face. “No. We act on my orders. You wait for my signal, and then you move. You follow me, you do exactly what I say, or you’ll be next.”His words carried the weight of steel. The man’s hands trembled slightly, but he manag

Adrian's POV I was lost in work, going over some files when a knock echoed on the door.“Come in,” I called, expecting one of my assistants. The door opened, and there she was, Diana. I was a bit shocked for a moment, though I quickly masked it with a neutral expression. She stepped in confiden
THIRD PERSON'S POV Zara strode between tables piled with ribbons, floral arrangements, and invitation cards. She held her clipboard in hand. “Okay, team, listen up!” she called, her voice cutting through the low hum of chatter. “The Johnson wedding is in three days, and we’re not leaving a single
Nicole's POV The library smelled faintly of old books and polished wood. It was quiet, except for the soft clicking of keyboards and the low murmur of students flipping pages. I found a small corner by the window and spotted Frank sitting there, his headphones were around his neck, with a notebo
