YARA’S POV

TWO WEEKS LATER…

He was huge. I could feel his hot breath on my face as he laughed wickedly while ripping my wings off my back and I cried and begged him for mercy but he didn’t listen. All I heard was his loud laughter as he walked away with my wings into the darkness and I just laid there in the dark, helpless and powerless while watching his back until he vanished into thin air and I was alone.

Suddenly, hands grabbed me by my feet and pulled me away while I screamed for help then it stopped and when I looked, I suddenly went cold as I came face to face with a bear and its saliva dropped my face, drop by drop as I tried my best not to move or breathe so it would think I was dead and walk away.

I was scared, I didn’t know what to do and I just hoped that my life was going to be spared, but that didn’t seem like the case though because the bear was still going to go ahead and eat me regardless. Just as its fangs caught my ankle and it tried to bite my feet off, I began to scream for help on and on while struggling to let go and suddenly…

**************

I woke up with a very loud gasp as I sat up in my bed and I quickly turned on my bedside lamp to be sure of where I was.

Once I was sure that I was still back in my room in the motel where I had been staying for the past two weeks since the witch’s kingdom where I lived was attacked and my queen was killed, I felt at ease realizing that it was just a dream and I rested my back against the wall but I winced as the spots where my wings were cut off began to hurt from the contact with the wall.

Seeing that I couldn’t go back to sleep again, I decided to resume with my plan on sneaking my way into the SINNICA pack to get my wings from wherever the alpha had kept it hidden and it was a mission that I had to see through because I lost all I had left of my powers when the so called alpha cut off my wings and I had to vanish to save myself.

Sighing to myself, I got off my bed and walked to the bathroom to rinse my face and have a quick shower, and when I was done, I dressed up before I took my smart wristwatch that I placed on the bedside drawer to check the time.

It was finally time for me to leave for the pack and make my way in. I had no idea how I was going to get in without my wings or magic but I knew there had to be a way because I was the only survivor of the attack and I had vowed to get my revenge at all cost. I had to make that alpha Denver pay for what he did to my kingdom and queen. I was going to make him feel the pain we all felt too and I was going to make him beg me for mercy but he wouldn’t get it.

I looked in the mirror that hung on the wall and I dragged in a long breath to prepare myself before leaving… “You can do this, Yara. Believe in yourself and you can do it just like you have always done” I whispered to myself as I took my bag from the bed and hung it over my shoulder.

Then I left the motel and headed for the market closest to the SINNICA pack to get breakfast and maybe a decent pair of clothes to wear too because the ones I had were worn out. I also hoped that I was going to hear something helpful from the women that always talked about the pack.

I got to the market and I did hear something that was definitely going to help me make my way into the pack without any hassle. The alpha was throwing a party to celebrate the merging of my former kingdom with his pack and everyone was invited.

I heard it was going to be a formal party so I knew it was time for me to get a decent dress from any place nearby… All I cared about was making my way into the palace tonight.

*****************

ALPHA DENVER’S POV

The party was going on in full swing. Everyone was chatting with each other with smiles on their faces and I was satisfied with its outcome because it was just what I had envisioned for tonight when I was planning the party all those days ago.

My pretend game was going perfectly for me because I didn’t have to explain anything to anyone.

I was the alpha and I owed no one an explanation for why I wasn't training because they all knew what would happen to anyone that questioned me and I was completely sure that no one was suspecting anything. No one had to know what was going on with me because it was only going to bring hell to my life and my pack that I had worked so hard to expand on my own. I couldn't trust anyone in this situation.

I stood in a corner of the hall, sipping on my wine and smiling at people as they passed by until Amanda came over with a smile on her face as usual and I grunted to myself before rolling my eyes while she stood beside me and sipped on her glass of wine that she held too.

“So how is the evening going alpha?” she asked me.

“None of your business so walk away” I snapped at her and she turned to face me with glassy eyes. I knew she was just putting up a show and I had no plans of playing along.

“Are you just going to keep ignoring me alpha? Or do you plan on rejecting me someday?” she asked me and I looked at her with a smirk.

“Don’t worry you’ll see” I said to her before I walked away and just as I felt her hand on mine while she followed me, I turned to face her sharply and growled.

“Do not follow me and get your hands off me Amanda” I warned her and she swallowed before she took a step back and walked away without sparing me a glance. She could go to hell if she wanted… I didn’t care.

I was about to find a new spot to stand and just watch the crowd or make new acquaintances with interested business men or women when I spotted someone that looked familiar from the corner of my eye.

My curiosity peaked immediately and I began to follow her as she walked through the crowd in her pitch black sequined dress that swept the floor with her fair skin shining like clear milk, reflecting the lights that blazed from the chandeliers hanging high from the ceiling.

I wouldn’t say I was captivated but there was just something familiar and alluring about her and even though I had lost my power, I knew it was my wolf sense that was drawing me to her, and I had to know why before I would rest.

She walked to the garden behind the hall where the party was going on and I just watched her from a distance to see what she was up to.

Suddenly, she took off her shoes and packed up her dress in her hands, ready to jump over the high fence and that was when I knew she was no ordinary lady, she was either a threat or a curious member of my pack that was about to trespass so I decided to stop her.

“Hey hey, you can’t go there. You shouldn’t be doing that” I yelled at her and she froze before she slowly turned to face me and my eyes went wide just as hers did too when we saw each other’s faces. I recognized her immediately as the winged witch that tried to kill me and I took her wing. I smiled when I saw she recognized me too and I slowly walked toward her.

“If you’re here for your wings, it isn’t there so don’t waste your time going over the fence. Besides, it’s not ladylike trying to over a fence in a dress like that” I teased and I watched as she fumed before coming at me.

“You son of a bastard. Give me back my wings” she yelled and just as she was about to throw a punch at me, I broke my wine glass on her head and she fell to the ground, unconscious at once.

“Well, I guess someone is powerless too,” I said to myself as I bent and inspected her.

I figured out that she must have lost her powers too after I took her wings.

She was beautiful but obviously crazy and that was a bad combination for me. Suddenly, I stopped as I realized something and I looked back at the unknown formerly winged witch that lay unconscious in my front.

I could make a deal with her when she wakes. She was one of the members of the witch’s kingdom and that automatically made her someone I had hurt because it was obvious she had a grudge against me so if I made her stay in my pack until she was ready to forgive me, I was going to get my powers back and she was going to be given her wings then she would go her way while I would remain the most powerful alpha in the whole werewolf realm.

It seemed like a good deal for me and I was pretty sure that she was going to take it after she woke up because I wasn’t really going to give her any choice. It was going to be either taking a deal with me or losing her life and I knew which one she was going to pick.

THIRD POVTHREE MONTHS LATER…For the first time, the SINNICA pack was hosting a new moon festival and everyone was excited about it. Especially the new beta, Freya because she was the one who brought up the idea for Alpha Denver and he instantly liked it.It had been months since the attack and Yara left.Alpha Denver made sure to give Cillian the punishment he deserved and now he was history as he had chosen for himself, a new beta who was more competent and trustworthy, but even though things were running smoothly, the absence of Yara was still there and he missed her dearly. It was like a huge part of his heart was carved out when he woke up after the attack and was told that she was gone. He searched for her, did all he could, and reached out to everyone he knew who could help to look for her but she was never found. He had no idea where she was or what she was doing. He didn’t even know if she was alive or not and it saddened him to know that he lost the only woman that he had

  • THE ALPHA KING’S CURE   CHAPTER 99

LUNA AMANDA’S POVI didn’t need to do a lengthy introduction of myself to the army since they all knew who I was already. The alpha was going to be the one leading the army with me by his side as an accomplice and guide into the palace and after a short orientation with the army, they all understood what we were going to the SINNICA pack for. I left my parents behind since they couldn't join in the war to come and that night, we made our way to the pack after I told Cillian we were on our way.We got to the borders of the pack and it was all empty thanks to Cillian who had reassigned the guards before we arrived. We had easy access to the pack but the problem was with the subject. They all began to scream out for help once they saw us and most of them rushed into their houses to protect themselves. A guard was about to go after a woman but I quickly stopped him and made sure to remind him that the target tonight was Alpha Denver and no one else which meant the subjects were exempt.

  • THE ALPHA KING’S CURE   CHAPTER 98

LUNA AMANDA’S POVThe drive back to my pack was a very quiet one and it was obvious that all of us were seething with anger. Alpha Denver just rejected me as his Luna after I stayed by his side for so many years and he thought I wasn't going to retaliate? He made me feel like I was nothing for so long and even mistreated me several times in front of the maids so if he thought I wasn't going to act and make him pay, he must have really underestimated me.I already had plans working like wheels in my mind and having Cillian back in the pack was a bonus for me because he was going to let me know about everything that was going on back there without any effort. I sighed before I rested my head against the window of the car and soon, we had arrived at our mansion in our pack.It had been so many years since I had seen this mansion and seeing it before me again brought back many memories of the years I spent in it as a child, when I was still happy and living a contented life before I fel

  • THE ALPHA KING’S CURE   CHAPTER 97

YARA’S POVIt had been two days since the fight I had with Alpha Denver and we didn’t speak to each other. I had been holed up in my room throughout without breakfast, lunch, or dinner and sometimes, in the middle of the night, I would hear him groaning and yelling out in pain and I knew it was because of the cursed poison that Allison cast on him.It was a struggle not to get up from my bed and go over to his room to check on him whenever he was having his headache episodes at night but I wondered if he even wanted me there with him. We told each other that we didn't trust each other and that alone was enough to destroy every atom of feeling that we had for each other. So what if I went to see him and then he told me that he didn’t want me around him? It was even going to hurt me more than I already felt and it would be unbearable. So I figured it was best to keep my distance. Especially since he didn’t mind enduring the pain rather than having me help him by returning my wings to me

  • THE ALPHA KING’S CURE   CHAPTER 96

YARA’S POVI didn’t know if I was supposed to be angry or if I should try and hold myself back because he was in pain. But he yelled at me. He wouldn’t talk about my wings and when I insisted, he decided to yell at me and that did it for me.I wasn’t going to stand back and let him yell at me for what was originally mine for no reason so I had to make him explain. I wanted to hear his side and know exactly why he wouldn’t give my wings back to me.So I followed him as he walked away from the throne room and I set my foot out to stop the door from shutting in my face when he walked into his room.“Make me understand, Denver. Tell me exactly why you don’t want to talk about returning my wings to me. Tell me why you don’t seem like you want to even give it to me at all” I yelled at him and he groaned with his head still palmed. He was still in pain and as much I cared, there was nothing I could do except he gave my wings back to me.“Yara, please, don’t” he began and I stomped my foot on

  • THE ALPHA KING’S CURE   CHAPTER 95

ALPHA DENVER’S POVI walked to the throne room with Yara right behind me and my head hurt so badly. It felt like I was getting pricked with a thousand needles in the brain and I imagined myself losing my mind due to the unbearable pain. I wished I hadn't gotten so close to Allison, then she wouldn’t have done this to me.Luna Amanda’s mother came for me immediately. I walked into the throne room and she grabbed me by the collar of my shirt with anger in her eyes but I was too focused on the fact that Yara was asking for her wings to care about Luna Amanda’s mother throwing a tantrum in my face. So I grabbed her by her hands and pulled them off my collar before I pushed her off me and she fell but I didn’t care.I walked to the throne and took my seat while Yara tried to help her up but she only yelled at her to keep her distance and Yara didn’t say a word as she let her go and came to join me where I sat. Then I watched Amanda’s father help her mother up before they came toward me an
