Celine

My eye slowly opened as I regained consciousness.

I woke up to the faint rustling of silk and the distant sounds of torches that had been embedded with magic.

I raised my head up, blinking back as my eyes got used to the lighting in the room and that was when I realized that the ceiling above me was impossibly high, it was carved in ancient patterns that glowed with faint but golden light.

For a moment, I couldn’t breathe but it wasn’t because I was panicking, instead it was from the unbelievable beauty of the place I was in. But, as my senses settled, the weight of the truth of my situation settled on heavily over me.

I wasn’t in a palace or a room filled with luxury. I was in a prison and was being held captive.

It was not just any prison but one embedded in luxury. But it was a prison no matter how much better they tried to make it look.

I sat up sharply and a wince immediately escaped my lips before I could stop it. My wrists burned and all the joints in my body ached

  • THE ALPHA KING’S SPECIAL LUNA   Chapter 168

CelineI had barely woken up from my sleep when I saw some people walking into the room that had been turned into a glamorous prison. They were dressed in maid’s attire and their lips were set into a thin line as they walked closer to me. I tried to get up and speak, telling them to leave me alone but I was weak and tired and could barely get a word past my lips. I watched in horror as they began undressing for me before they washed away the dirt that had accumulated on my body over the time that I had been in that place. I had lost track of time, crashed out over the loss of communication with my wolf and then cried over and over again, silently calling out for Kaiden to come save me.They combed through my hair violently and packed it in an updo and the dress they forced me into glistened like blood under the moonlight and every movement I made cause it to ripple around with an undeniable silky menace. It clung to me in a way that felt so wrong because joke of jt was me. It wasn

KaidenI woke up to my body aching but it was better than when I had been put to sleep. I reached for the other side of the bed and I was met with an emptiness that u couldn’t explain. The bed was cold beside me—too cold than what seemed normal. The normal smell of lavender and sweet vanilla that usually helped soothe my nerves like a balm anytime I woke up in the morning, dancing across the air was missing. My heart fell before I could even open my eyes and my mind started racing with different possibilities. “Celine?” I called as I sat up, my voice was hoarse and my throat was drier than it had ever been. I got no response. I swung my legs over the bed, wincing as my wounds shifted slightly but I pushed the feeling away and scanned the room for her, thinking that she had probably fallen asleep on the couch on something. I didn’t see her anywhere my eyes landed on and nothing was out of place. Nothing felt weird either except the investable silence that screamed back at me. I

Celine“Did I… did I win?” Tears fell down my face before I could stop them. “You fought like your life depended on it.”“That bad, huh?”“You nearly died fighting him, Kaiden,” I said as I pressed my hands against his wounds, trying to create enough pressure to stop his bleeding. “We need to stop you from bleeding. Someone, anyone—get the healer! Now!” I yelled to no one in particular as I turned away from Kaiden. He let out a grunt, trying to turn to me. “I… thought… I could take him on.”“You did, love. You almost did,” I whispered a snore tears fell down my face. “But that spear… it wasn’t fair. None of his moves were fair. He cheated.”Kaiden tried to shift again but he let out a violent wince instead as his bone cracked. I leaned forward and steadied him, trying my best to make him as comfortable as possible. “Don’t move. Just hold and stay still.”His eyes focused on mine for a moment. “He’ll… try to take you from me.”“I won’t let him succeed,” I promised. “Not now. Not ever

Celine“No!”The scream tore out of my throat before I could stop myself. Kaiden stumbled backwards as the spear that was thrown from the shadows lodged into his back. Charles' move was a cowardly and dishonorable move but no one dared move to him. Kaiden fell to the floor on one knee as blood soaked through the fabric of his tunic, chaining everywhere it touched in the arena bright red.Instinctively, I lunged forward as my heart leapt out of my chest, but before I could take another step forward, I felt arms wrap around my waist holding me back and stopping me from going to meet him. “Let go of me!” I yelled as I twisted around violently trying to get out of wherever it was grip. “Lina, stop! What’s going on with you?” Tasha said, her voice filled with confusion and urgency. “What do you think you want to go there to do? The fight is not over yet, you going over there would only get you hurt.”“The fight is over when King Kaiden is dead,” I snapped at her, my voice filled with a

KaidenThe arena where the competition between Charles and I would take place was quiet. Too quiet. Hundreds of people were watching from the grandstands that were above us with their eyes focused on the two of us that were standing in the center of it all. I could feel their nervousness combined with anticipation and it gathered around me like a cloud that was filled and about to burst. Standing across from me was Charles and he was standing tall and regal in the worst way possible. His hair was shining like the golden sun while his armor was reflecting the sunlight that shone on it, it was embedded with symbols I couldn’t recognize and I assumed they were marks from his time, when he still ruled which was long ago. But his eyes… those ancient, golden eyes were locked on me with something worse than hatred. He was looking at me with possession. “I’ll give you this one last chance, Kaiden,” Charles said, his voice echoing through the field and solving through the tense air. “Retu
