“Who did this to you?” Kaiden’s tone was deadly still as he gripped my chin to see the claw marks on my face.

I didn't want him to see the marks, but he demanded to see me and the marks were taking forever to heal.

I didn't want him to make a big deal out of it. It only made things worse. I wanted to handle it myself.

“Kaiden.. I can handle it okay? You don't have to.”

“I said, who did this to you?” he gripped my jaw tightly and I could see his wolf flash behind his eyes.

If I didn't tell him, he was just going to get it out of me so I sighed. “Lydia. But to be fair, I said mean things-”

“I do not care. I’m going to make that spoilt princess see what happens when you cross me.”

"Where is she?" His voice was dangerously low, a growl rumbling from deep in his chest.

I grabbed his wrist, trying to soothe him. "Kaiden, please. It’ll only make things worse."

His piercing gaze snapped to mine. "For who? You?" His thumb brushed over the drying blood on my cheek, his expression unreadable. "

  • THE ALPHA KING’S SPECIAL LUNA   Chapter 163

KaidenThe arena where the competition between Charles and I would take place was quiet. Too quiet. Hundreds of people were watching from the grandstands that were above us with their eyes focused on the two of us that were standing in the center of it all. I could feel their nervousness combined with anticipation and it gathered around me like a cloud that was filled and about to burst. Standing across from me was Charles and he was standing tall and regal in the worst way possible. His hair was shining like the golden sun while his armor was reflecting the sunlight that shone on it, it was embedded with symbols I couldn’t recognize and I assumed they were marks from his time, when he still ruled which was long ago. But his eyes… those ancient, golden eyes were locked on me with something worse than hatred. He was looking at me with possession. “I’ll give you this one last chance, Kaiden,” Charles said, his voice echoing through the field and solving through the tense air. “Retu

KaidenHis hand dropped from Arienne’s head and he curled it into a fist by his side. “Celine…” he started before he stopped as if he was finding it hard to say what was in his head. “What is it?” I asked, my body going stiff because I didn’t know what to respect. His eyes met with mine, something fierce and a look of uncertainty burning in his eyes. “Tell me the truth, Celine.”“The truth about what?” I asked, confused as my heart sank.“About Charles,” he replied in a hoarse voice. “Do you have any feelings for him? Even just a bit?”The question hung between us like a heavy gloomy cloud. My breath caught in my throat. “Kaiden…”“Please don’t lie to me,” he whispered. “Please.”I swallowed again as I forced myself to look into his eyes. “No, I don’t love him. And I never will.”He cocked his eyebrow but I could still see he was tense. If anything, his shoulders became even stiffer. “Big you dream of him and you told me you were not sure of how you felt for him.” I froze. “I… I

  • THE ALPHA KING’S SPECIAL LUNA   Chapter 161

CelineAfter the back and forth between Charles and I, I decided that it was high time I introduced Kaiden to our daughter. I was going to do this to assure him that I wanted no one but him and neither Charles or anyone else could get in between us. I snuck out of the mansion to a part of the island where I couldn’t be seen and even though it took everything in me, leaving me weak and drained of strength, I was able to open the portal to hell and got there. I was so emotional seeing Evelyn, Bridgette and Penny that I almost didn’t want to leave the hug that they engulfed me in when they set their eyes on me. I promised them to be careful and be back soon. I went to meet my father and I told him that I had saved my mom—his love. He was almost drawn to tears and requested to see her immediately but I told him it wasn’t the time for that yet. I didn’t tell him anything about Charles, I didn’t want him to worry or try to get involved with it. I told him all about Kaiden and that I w

KaidenI shook my head in response. “I know he won’t but we can at least try and control the battlefield. Force his hands down and find a way to seal him back.”He slowly nodded and I knew he was thinking it over. “Why about the competition? Do you still plan on going to battle against him alone?”“I have no other choice,” I replied in a low voice. “It’s the only way because if I back out now, he’ll think I’m scared of him and will keep coming back. Worse, he would take her away from me forever and also try to rule over my kingdom.”Damon didn’t say anything but his eyes were intense as he studied me, it was like he was trying to get into my head and find out what was going on in there. “You’re scared,” he finally said, his voice quiet. My body went still but I didn’t say anything. “Yes,” I finally admitted. “I am.”Another minute of silence before Damon smiled as he walked closer to me and gently punched my shoulder. “That’s good. Fear keeps you on your toes and makes you sharp.”

  • THE ALPHA KING’S SPECIAL LUNA   Chapter 159

Kaiden My hands hitting against the training pads was almost enough to push away every nagging thought that was in my head and drown out every insecurity or sign of distrust for Celine in my head but it still wasn’t quite enough. I let out a groan and drove my fist into the pad again with so much force than necessary and it sent Damon stumbling back a step before he could catch himself. In a fit of rage and frustration, I had sent a message back to the palace and asked for Damon to come over. I needed my best friend and my advisor at that moment more than anything. I was already losing my mind and any more minutes he spent away from me, not trying to figure out a solution with me, I feared I would take a bad step. Damon has gotten the message and has arrived on the island faster than I could have ever imagined. I didn’t waste another minute as I pulled him into my chambers and told him everything that had happened from meeting Celine who pretended to be Lina to me finding ou
