8; Awfully Intertwined.

“You’re a rogue.” He stated, with no air of questioning surrounding his tone. He sounded as if he knew what he was saying. That he is certain of what he’s saying. His eyes narrowed slightly, never leaving mine. “Became one not too long ago.”

I got over my initial shock, my lips slanted into a humorless smile. “Well, geez. Thank you for stating the obvious, I didn’t realize I’ve gone rogue.” The words rolled off my tongue without me thinking twice—a bad habit of having a sharp tongue and witty responses at the very tip of it, one that would get me killed sooner rather than later.

It’s quite obvious he wasn’t impressed by my response, because he was silent for a few seconds, his brow arching slightly. “You’re pretty daring.” He commented, though his tone was blank so I couldn’t tell whether he was amused by the fact or not. “You have an awful sharp mouth as well.”

“Thanks, I’ve heard that a lot.” What is wrong with me? I’ve always had a response, always so 99 percent
