9; Save me, Cassain.

He held my gaze for a short while, his red irises scrutinizing me, while his lips were set into a straight line. From what I’ve gathered on him, he’s not exactly an open book. He keeps his emotions in check, masking them away under veil one can’t see past. Even those few emotions he’d allowed to be on display, they are never truly from deep within, at least, not entirely.

Yet, as he held my gaze, his hand still keeping a firm hold on my neck, I could somehow tell what was going on in his mind, or so I hoped. He was vetting me, trying to see if my words genuinely came from my heart, that I do believe he won’t hurt me or I’m just putting on a façade to appear strong.

The truth is though, it’s the former. I do not believe he would kill me. I just know he won’t. At least, not at that very moment.

Not so surprisingly, though we really need to figure out how this mind hearing thing would work, he heard what was on going in my mind. For the nth time since we crossed pat
