CHAPTER 16: NEW LIFE. NEW IDENTITY.

As the car gilded its way down the driveway, my stomach twisted in knots, sending a rush of heat down my spine—the same feeling I got when my wolf sensed him as my mate.

Now, my wolf couldn't contain her excitement. She was eager to meet her other half, even though he wasn't enthusiastic about meeting us.

Unlike my wolf, I felt a bit indifferent about being here. I wasn't sure if I should feel excited. Given how much I owe him, I didn't expect anything exciting to happen between us, and it seemed like he wouldn't acknowledge our bond.

It stings to know he doesn't care, but I'll eventually move past the pain. Besides, it wasn't enough to make my wolf whimper. Somehow, it felt like I've been through something similar before. Though, there's a sneaky feeling that it was even worse than this.

"Was being rejected part of the memories I lost?"

I pondered, my mind empty of memories to satisfy my curiosity and confusion. As I thought about it, I noticed the car's engine rumbling died
