The attack came at dawn.

Aria woke to the sound of warning bells, the particular urgency of alarms that meant genuine danger. She was out of bed before her eyes were fully open, Xavier already moving beside her.

"What is it?" she asked.

"Thessaly," he said, pulling on his gear. "They've breached the eastern border. Multiple packs are under attack."

She dressed quickly, her mind racing. "Wren?"

"With Nora," Xavier said. "She's safe. Liam and Rael are already in the training yard."
