Chapter twenty-four

Bryan arched a brow before walking over casually to the side of the penthouse where the living room furniture was, “What do you mean?”

His mother, Darnell Anderson, settled her trim and petite figure on a French chair, fingering the triple stand of knuckle-sized pearls around her neck with a slight smile on her ageless face, “Dear Bryan, your father had to mind-control your personal assistant to make her not inform you that we were present because you explicitly told her not to let anyone in and the contents on your desk are trashed.”

His fingers tightened around the glass of grape juice he held but his voice was perfectly bland and gave nothing away as he said, “Did you?”

In contrast to his mother’s small figure, Edric Anderson dominated the entire space. He stood behind his wife’s right shoulder, tall in a single-breasted black suit. He looked every inch the retired CEO and Alpha King of the Ortiz Kingdom.

There was no doubt that Bryan had taken after his father.
